Hello,
I own a Vibrant with firmware Galaxy S I9000, as you can see in the picture (I did get confused by this), I was trying to return to the previous ROM that was backed up at the CWM, which gave error, inadvertently I rebooted the phone without CM7 reinstall and now I am always on this screen, if I try to enter download mode (usb cable plugged in, power up + down + and put the battery), I have a black screen with a loading symbol of standing, and that's it. I wonder if there are still chances that I get into the download mode with the method JIG? In order to use the software Odin. Thank you.
As i known you can be able to get download mode using jig method. But if your phone hardbricked(phone is dead) only you can use jtag method.

That is not a good sign. I will look for a thread that delt with that. One option you may have is using a jig. Here is a link on how to make one.

Have you tried the force USB download trick?
1. Remove the battery and unplug the USB cable.
2. Open ODIN (under admin privileges).
3. Plug the USB cable into your phone (with the battery still removed).
4. Hold vol-up and vol-down.
5. Pop the battery not in.
If you don't need a jig, this should FORCE the phone into download mode.
From there, you can ODIN back to stock 2.1, and update with Kies MINI to 2.2.

I'm having a similar problem after flashing 2.2. Odin completed with no errors for me, phone went to reboot and now it won't power on nor can I get to download mode via any combination of vol+/-, battery in/out, usb cable plugged/unplugged tactics.
I will try a jig tomorrow, but after that I've read that the only option is a riffbox or possibly tmo sending a replacement. Any other possible ways to revive this thing?
i know its sounds dumb from me but any help could help you ..did you holded volume up and violume down and connect usb cable without holding power ?
try and see
iv got same problem here but my odin froze so i unplugged my phone to try again and now its just dead, cant get into download mode or anything

im having a problem getting into my vibrant phone.... i tried switching to one of the newest overstock kernel roms i followed each step i think and when i want to reboot my phone the only thing that shows up is the samsung vibrant logo and overstock logo over and over again.... i tried to go back into recovery mode but i cant.... so is my phone bricked or is there any other way i can get into recovery mode to get it running again?
Did you try to attach one end of the USB cable to your vibrant while holding down both the volume buttons then insert the other end to the PC?
This should get you to download mode.

I havent tried the usb from the pc yet.... Will it work with macs???
if can't get into recovery without the 3rd button combo, is possible that you phone is hardware locked and probably can't get into download mode. This is just a tip for you and some other people trying new ROMS/KERNELS, do some research on your phone before trying anything on it, such as getting the phone in download mode, using odin/heimdall, remember that by rooting your phone you voided your warranty.

Odin wont work on mac so you wont be able to flash to stock using that but you could try this way to check if your phone really is bricked or not. Then you can try it out on windows and flash to stock if you were indeed able to enter download mode.

You can use Heimdall. I don't think it allows repartitioning, but you can definitely flash back to stock with it. See this thread.

The JIG does not get blocked with the new bootloaders, it just does not clear the counters in the same way, but DLM can still be entered with the JIG.

I can't power on the phone. It's totally dead
Recovery is as follows
One enter Download Mode
No Download Mode then try USB Jig to force download mode .
Phone off put usb jig in usb port boots to download mode .
Fails
Then its a service centre job .
jje
plug your jigg in your phone and then you will come in the download mode,
don't restart your phone. plug your usb-cable in, then open ODIN
find stock rom and flash it.

Just curious... Does anyone know what sort of gear a service centre might have that can talk to a SGS2 after its gone to such a 'dark place' that even a JIG can't wake it up? I always thought a JIG was all you needed...

If you are correctly pressing the combination for recovery (volup+home+power) or download mode (volup+voldown+power) and still not getting into recovery or download modes then I am guessing that you tried Ace GT-S5830 custom ROM (or any other incompatible one) on Ace-i GT-5830i, and your phone is not recognizing the key combinations. In that case, as domnic79 said your phone is bricked, and if USB jig is not working, the only way is to either claim it in warranty or use the JTAG method to unbrick your phone. If you somehow successfully get into download mode; use odin to flash multifirmware stock rom from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822109

I accidently booted my phone without loading a ROM onto it and now it won't even start. It doesn't even vibrate. HELP!!
Try holding volume up + volume down + power for a few seconds. If the phone vibrates, let go of the power button. You should have booted into recovery.
nope nothing

Yes, do as UncleLester has said. Try hold volume down + power for 10+ seconds. If you're able to go into download mode, you can restore to stock. If the phone doesn't turn on at all, I'm not sure what else you can do...
yeah, I held down the volume up + down + power for almost a minute. Nothing :/
I'm with jpark623 with that if none of the above work I'm afraid your a bit stuck.

Download mode is accessible by volume down + power. Recovery mode is volume down + volume up + power. Don't press volume up for download mode.
My phone is not even recognized in the ID:COM Section
Were you able to access download mode? If so, then you need to install drivers. If not, you NEED to be in download mode.

There is a thread with a link to a Flashtool download or do what I done and Google Odin and download that.
Odin and Flashtool are programs that make flashing a little easier, the device needs to be put in a fastboot/flash/recovery mode (depending on device it's usually a combo of volume up + volume down or sometimes including the home button) when it's in it, Odin or Flashtool will detect it thats when you can select your chosen Rom.
I use Odin more than Flashtool just because I came across it first and it's never let me down however I haven't used it in a while, when I downloaded it though it did have a little 'how to' guide so everything you need to know will be im there.

I was trying out different custom roms that I had downloaded. I had just finished one and decided to change it. After booting it into recovery mode, I had wiped the cache and reset it back to factory settings. I tried to load a roam named "JZO54K.N7000XXLS7". It errored and stopped trying to install. Afterwards I ended up wiping it again and resetting the cache to make sure there were no remnants. Following this, I rebooted the phone and now i'm in this position
