I have unlocked the boot loader of my ST15i and flashed CM7.2.0 . The phone is working great. Now I also want to know how to re lock bootloader so that I can update with SEUS when ICS will be available from SE after 3 months.
I have seen a method for Xperia arc in its forum. Can I follow that ? Is it reliable ?

As per my knowledge its not possible to get bootloader relocked as it was and get the DRM back,
but you can try this method to use sues and all that stuff
Don't forget to read block red letter line
By this you will be able to update phone software and all that stuff, try at your own risk as i haven't tried to relock my bootloader by this method. And its for Xperia Arc as you said but can be useful for ST15i too....
Refer link Relock Bootloader Of Xperia Models video tutorial
Finally i i took a brave step and tried the relocking procedure of Xperia Arc on Xperia Mini and it worked I was having my heart in my mouth all the time . Before relocking i flashed my Xperia Mini with Stock ROM using WotanServer Client. Maybe this thread will help other ST15i users.
I knew it would work
I had checked the results for ST15i before i posted link from Chinese website
Congrats
Thank you, it was helpfull.

Hello =)
1.Yes Root is possible and CWM i think thats too possible
2.Yes and No, because u must unlock your bootloader via some tutorial here or on SE dev site but !No with tespoint metod! (When you unlock bootloader via testpoint you cant re-lock it)
3.Try this i think you can unlock bootloader without loosing DRM keys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285 (Y its for arc but it works on neo too)
4.A lot of things =) You can overclock your device (up to 2.0ghz) you can flash custom rom, etc.
5.Yes
Root without unlocked bootloader yes it is too possible try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582

Thank you very much!
I am hesitant to root my phone because of this.
I want to root my phone to remove those apps/processes that automatically run in the background because it really eats up my ram. Also, without affecting the capability of updating it to ics.
I would like to ask what is the best method to root my phone (wt19i) without unlocking the bootloader?
Thank you very much for the response.
check this for rooting-

I think with sony is the same
I have a question.
When the ICS Update comes out, we'll have to update our phones, would it be like flashing our phone? I mean, will the apps, and data can be lost? And what about root? Will it be lost? Thanks in advance.

You'll be able to do so somehow, don't worry, using flash tool or Wotan. Don't worry, where's will, there's a way... And in here, will is always turn on.

there are methods to root and install cwm without unlocking the bootloader (atleast for the 2011 xperia line),I havent unlocked the bootloader and still have tried flashing files to the stock rom
If the bootloader is locked,u will get official updates, otherwise u can flashtool to flash the new firmwares(obviously the .ftf files will be made available on file sharing websites).
hi all i am getting my mini tonight ..i just destroyed my w8 when i was unlocking BL and i scare it will happen to my mini so ere are my doubts
-what is the worst thing that can happen when you root? will rooting brick you phone?
-what tool is used to root a mini? for my w8 is used flashtool for both rooting and xrecovery ..is it the same for mini?
-what are the best roms for mini? well romming brick your mini?
-what safe tweaks i can do on my mini? i heard of odex and reduce sensitivity but i don't get what they are saying
-whats the worst that can happen if i over/underclock my mini?
-what mods should i use for my mini?
-is it worth romming the mini since ICS is releasing soon
so please answer my questions! a thanks will be given and a sincere one!
HAPPY CNY
oh ya i am not planning to unlock BL for my mini so all in stock please
rooting procedure of mini is very simple since dooomlord made a bat file that automatically roots device. CWM installation is also automatic. bootloader unlock is a mess for me. i tried many times but failed and it did not brick my device. but you dont need to unlock bootloader and install custom rom since ICS is on its way
oh..so this doomlord is like a flashtool is there any links ?
and if i brick my phone do i use pcc to recover?
search dooomlord's easy rooting toolkit on google. you will find it
you can go to wotanserver.com for online free flashing of your phone if you ever bricked it
oh...but pcc is also fine right? and does flashtool supports mini?cause pcc and flashtool is the one i am most familar with
yes. you can find
flashtool in development section of xperia mini.
sweeettt then i can root my phone with ease...oh how do you cwm your mini? i can xrecovery but never cwm ...

there is extreme tweak installer in development section, it can automatically install CWM

dont know. i dont have flashtool experience but extreme tweak installer is very reliable, it just needs 1 click to install CWM
i want to asnwer this but someone already answered it for you.
so what i want to say u have nothing to worried about about unlocking bootloaders and installing cwm recovery and all that stuff. its quite easy for our mini/mini pro if you check carefully on mini/mini pro development section
oh..so u unlock BL for mini is very safe?it bricked my w8 once =( ...i think i will try the xtreme tweak later! oh ans what kernels + rom work the best? there isn't much roms in the mini section compared to the x8 section ...oh ya can extreme tweak unlock BL?

SE is only company which supports developing. they gave us thier camera library and they also support freexperia. and also unlocks bootloader on thier own website.
recently htc also gave bootloader unlocking after developers forced them because they did not get root in any way when bootloader was locked.
LOL never expected that ..still it looks so complicated on their web..is there a easier way ? i searched for unlock bl guide for mini but all i got was for x10 mini ..oh and is it wise to rom now? since ICS is releasing for mini now
Hello,
I've tryed serveral apps and Windows utilities to try to root my Xperia U... SuperOneClick, zergRush, z4root, Gingerbreak... everything fails...
So, I thinked about a thing... If on the X8 we were able to flash Kernels and System images using Flashtool, can we use the Flashtool to flash on the Xperia U a pre-rooted system image, to obtain root? Is it possible?
I'm with Locked BL, BL Unlock Allowed = NO, that's why i'm asking this...
Hope you can find an answer for my question, or another root method.
No you can't. Flashtool images are signed by Sony and this signature is verified on locked BL.

hum ok... anybody is working on Root for Locked BL?
it is already out, search in de android dev section
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
I had an xperia x8, they use a method to pass the bootloader using miniloader and splboot.ko,
I think sony has already known about this method and makes a better security so we can not pass the bootloader with that method.

That sucks so bad... it means that the people who have BL Unlock Allowed = NO will most probably stuck with Stock Kernel forever...
That is why I always buy directly from Sony, that way I know the boot loader is definitely unlockable
There will probably be a hack some time in the future.

keiran, do you know anything about exploits? can u try to make one for the Xperia U if you're able too? I can be your tester if you want and if you can do it..
btw, hope you buy your Xperia U soon! i'm unable to donate due to some troubles i have with Paypal, if i could i would donate you.. is there any other method that i can do it?
Welcome. Looking for a simple way to unlock the bootloader in the neo-v. Very I would be happy if you show me applications such as one-click.Sorry for my bad english I can not take advantage of the testpoint method and official methods sony
Why you can not use the official way? This is the official way: Unlocking the boot loader
As I know there is no application which will do what you expected with only one click, I repeat, as I know.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070325
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using xda app-developers app
if I will use the method in which you get a code from sony i will lose DRM
I'm looking for an application such as ez unlock but this probably will not work on neo v (by clicking it displays the bootloader unlocked but after entering the service code still writes : bootloader unlock allowed :YES

There's S1Tool described in big thread in Neo V Development subforum. It uses testpoint method. You can try it. It haven't worked for me so I used Omnius Server. It uses testpoints too. I bought single unlock credit for $15 but you may find someone in your area with full version or with SE Tool, it should be cheaper. I'm not sure what happens to DRM since I don't use it and I flashed LX CM 10.1 right away.
Thank you all for your ideas. But I think I will try to testpoint method ... If you have any other ideas please write:laugh:
I have an idea ... It may suffice check what files are changing when you unlock the bootloader and put them on the phone with a locked bootloader
I don't know if you unlock the bootloader using the test point method the DRM security keys and the secure user data partition are lost.
By using the method suggested by me above, the official method those two are lost and the warranty of your phone will be lost in most cases.
So be careful
Later edit
I read some pages about test point method, seems the DRM code is not lost when the bootloader is unlocked by test point method.
go to wotanserver
go to wotanserver check youre pone date in the baterry is quick and u will unlock bootloader and network mine Works well u dont need to be affraid never with get bootlop when u have bootloader unlock mi pone is like Brand new i install custom rom vyper xperia v6 very good rom
