If your phone is rooted, you can try "Light flow Lite" on the market !
This apps can modify all LED notification !
try it
Lightflow is a temporary solution.
It works even without roots!
Anyone found a solution without using third party apps?
After stock ICS 4.0.4 update my Ray green notification LED stopped working for missed calls, sms and emails.
However it works if I receive a new message WHILE screen is on. But otherwise (screen off) notification led is not activated.
Anyone can confirm RAY notification LED to work properly after stock 4.0.4 update? I suspect it's actually more widespread problem that's why I'm asking for confirmation if your is even working properly. Also if you was able to fix it.
If I will find a solution I will post here.
just updated to 4.0.4 through pc companion. led notification does not work any more.
haha se screwed up :/
me tooo.. xperia mini pro 4.0.4
with SMSAWAKE app this problem will be solved.

[Q] Official ICS 4.0.4 LED notification not working?

Hi my Neo V is on the Official ICS 4.0.4 with Alliance kernel,
and the LED notification is not working well.
It only works normally for missed call.
Not working for SMS or whatsapp notifications.
I have tried some third party app such as LightFlow, but the LED blinks ONLY WHEN THE SCREEN IS ON.
Does anyone experienced the same problem?
I think it's a bug of stock 4.0.4.
works for me. try repair your phone with PCC.

I'm now using I-Scream_11i_431 with is based on stock ICS 4.0.4,
and the problem still exists,
I wonder if it could be a kernel problem.
Mine is also behaving strangely. Stock 4.0.4.

That's very strange, not all of the Xperia phone user experienced the same problem,
some of them claims their LED works normally.
As I see, most of the users experienced this problem are using Xperia Ray
Mine (Xperia Neo with 4.1.B.0.431 global flashed with Flashtool) has the same problem.
LED notifications work right only if screen is on... with screen off, LED notifications are not working (tested with standard SMS messages, Whatsapp messages and K9 mail messages).
Want my LED back
same problem for me, i flash with flashtool, another error that i find is the connection of wifi its not permanetly
Im waiting that my SI number appers on the page to repair the phone and reinstall ICS

Hi.
Same here.
I get the Update via PC-Companion, so that should be a "official" bug from SE.
Greets,
Marco
same problem... on stock 4.0.4 MT15
screen on, LED notification,,
screen off, no LED notification,,
third part reminder apps not working either
updated via Flashtool
Lightflow LED notifications NOT working at all for me on 4.0.4 (on my LT18i -ARC-S) .. I think we're looking at a Sony bug here guys.
Not working on mine as well. It's time to wait for another update

I downgraded to 4.0.3 ... I bet Sony won't fix this until 4.0.5!
I too exactly had the same problem ..enter into the service menu by*#*#78275496#*#* And test ur led ...if u can see all colours glowing ,then its generic bug of ics

I had the same bug. Led light only turns on when the screen is on.
I Update via PC-Companion, and i think its an official bug from Sony.
I do hope this will be fixed on 4.0.5 as soon as possible.
i got this bug too.
hope sony will fix this soon!

For me, the LED notification does not work until I unlock it once. Then, it will blink for that notification even if I lock it again.

Hi, I'm using Xperia U with stock .54 nordic firmwire and the notification led light in the top right corner is not working for SMS, missed calls, mails etc. Is there a fix for it? However, they are working fine in service test and while charging (except the blue light is very dim and weak).
I've found a thread about xperia neo and firmwire 4.something... but I don't know if this will work since xperia u firmwire is 6.1
