Hi. Here are two home launchers fro X8. One is like original in 2.1 android version and lower. This is with corners, the other one looks the same like the first one but this is without corners. This are my two the best HOME LAUNCHERS.
It works on all android phone, I have tested on SE X8 2.1 android version and on GINGERCRUZT 8.4!

You can add aps and shortcuts in corners. You can't add widgets!!!

It does not work in GingerDX. "Application not installed" and if you change it with the rootexplorer you have force close without even seen the "desktop"...
is there any difference between this and this?

yes, its different..
on alfsamsung you will get hide/unhide indicator, small corner, etc

Active Launcher for Stock 2.1 ROM
THIS LAUNCHER IS AS SMOOTH AS THE STOCK X8 LAUNCHER IN STOCK ROM. DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS OPTIMIZED TO RUN ON ORIGINAL SONY ERICSSON ROMS AND SONY ERICSSON ENVIRONMENT. THIS WORKS WITH STOCK ROM
Reccomendations:
*Do not install as system app - it does not like to be a system app
*Do not uninstall the stock x8 launcher - it works good with it and don't worry only one launcher will be running at an instance, unless a FC happens.

*Active Launcher features
Bugs [ONLY IN STOCK 2.1 ROM]
*Can't add folder - but to be honest who gives a damn, if your using the original x8 launcher you woudn't even have this or all the other feature.
*Can only add app shortcut, not other shortcuts for example "Manage Application" shortcut - Again you can't do this with stock x8 launcher

Yes I was about to mention this...
The difference here is that u have the 4 corners and also you do not need to flash this with all the other facebook inside xperia stuff (Which don't work properly).
you just install this apk as normal.

Oh, I like its smoothness (when you first flash with no apps), but I then hate its UI (status bar is eukkk).
Ever try GCZ? I heard its supposed to be like stock SE UI

Thank you so much _Sparks, just a question, I only use 2 widgets, so 5 screens are too much. And it even has 4 corners to store apps! So can I edit the apk to make launcher has only 3, or 1 screen? If I can, how to do that?

You can edit it but you need to change the integers file just search in xda, i think u need apk manager and android sdk
If u need me to i can make one with 3 screens for u when i have time

With a lot of research on the internet I finally managed to get the classic SE Timescape working although it works only with SE launcher any one intrested in getting it to work on the touch wiz or other launchers?
If yes let me know I will post the files used..
Edit :
Here you go buddy first flash the BE + Time scape zip and on top of that flash the timescape fix and then copy the SE _active launcher to the /system/app

@ anirudhks: after flashing the 2 zip files only, the timescape works good. but when i press the infinite view, it crashes. what does SE Active Launcher do if I copy it to system/app? there is already Launcher2 (SE) in system/app after the flashings..
any plans to fix the infinite view bug and add all other SE widgets? I would love to use them on my SGS2 device.. Cheers..

the infinite view has a bug yes as its based on the gingerbread framework , I will need to look into it however I am not a pro developer so would need the help of devs here , also the launcher is the Gingerbread launcher , the newer SE launchers wont recognize the widgets..

it doesnt work on touchwiz laucher. but it works on SE laucher cos it needs sony framework to run the timescape. it's only the infinite view issue.

Logically we should be able to trick the widget to work with Touch whiz too but just not able to find the right spot to identify the code... will check what I can do ..
or the other way I am looking at is to customize the SE launcher to look like the touchwhiz

those are part of android and has just been used in tabs. no need to use the app as reference

Just share, Xperia Home by Seraajr ( thanks to him ) from my GioScape rom and I has modified to be like GX home, it's for gingerbread 2.3.6 and CM7
With cm9/cm10, this home is very light
Instal at CWM
And hit thanks button, if you like it
Updated home with new dock, corner, dock + corner and new animation
Looks great
Just like xperia launcher supported by ICS+ roms
Performance + looks both

It's use transparent app drawer with light strip

But one request in app drawer when we click app drawer icon it produce the regular animation of sliding from bottom.. But access bar i mean the bar at the top that contain the home,order,application button should come from top under the statusbar and join with the drawer menu. That type of animation can make some excellence and reduce lag a bit when open/close the app drawer can you modify the launcher

Which version of CM7 have you installed? in mine don't work (i'm in 7.2.2.1 last nightly)... can you explain your procedure?
