[Q] Chances of bluetooth hardware enabling? - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

As it stands right now with the current state of hardware and software hacking on the Nook Tablet, what are the chances that bluetooth will be activated? I have been reading the Nook Tablet forums and it appears that there has been some very good progress made at cracking this thing wide open, so I was just wondering. Maybe we're at that point already and I've just missed something.
rodorr

I had a link somewhere how to do it...
I'm still totally noob to all this, and simply haven't gotten smart enough to try it.
Ok, I can't post the link because I don't have 8 post. I PMd it to you.

Will you PM it to me too?
Thanks!

Done, and again I say - it's currently over my head. I spent all weekend rooting my Nook Tablet, yet feel so clueless.

I would very much be interested in that info. please pm me also.
Thanks

Since many posters have few posts and can't link, If someone can PM me so I can link it in here for everyone else?

Well what i have found so far is this: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/wireless/bluetooth.html#SettingUp

Anyway I just looked in this sub forum and have not read anything in depth yet. I have practice flashing roms on my phone so I am not a complete newbie...but not far..
So is the instructions in the flash thread still the one to follow exactly as written? I only ask because I saw somewhere that the G tablet has been updated and some roms are no longer good (not sure if this is true?)
Anyway I will be getting this tablet soon and want to flash it before I even use it (with at least gingerbread if not honeycomb), so any tips or hints would be appreciated.
Thanks so much in advance!!!

Tip 1: Post General (like this) or Q/A (like "how do I...?") posts in the General or Q/A forums, not in THIS forum, which (as you can see by the Stickied Posts you passed over) is just for developers to post about their things, and for you to give them feedback in their threads.
Tip 2: be sure you understand the whole 1.1 vs 1.2 bootloader thing
Tip 3: have fun!
Sorry for posting in the wrong place. I am so used to the phone section (which is where we post these questions) that I just assumed it was the same setup.
Can a Mod please move this thread to the correct forum please?
thanks
I don't think there is another tab with as much interests as this one.
That said I hope you know about the screen viewing angle issue. I haven't really noticed it but some people have cried bloody murder.

[Q] TVOut - beta 001 - 3-1-2011

Sorry to post here, but new to the fascinate. Ive done well so far, but since I can't post in the dev forum. I thought I would post here.. I was wondering how the tv out project was going and if it is still in development. I think this would make a great feature. Please let me know
it seems to be completely dead.. i know nothing of the technical maters, but i hope someone is still working on it. in my opinion it is one of the great missing features of this phone. i really hope that someone like jt takes a stab at it.
Ha I hope that it is not dead. I could think Of some great things I like to do as well. Allshare just doesn't cut it for me. Hopefully it will pick back up soon...I can only pray that it does

Easy Redbox Fix Joel'z ICS

Since I am new I didn;t have enough post to post this in Joelz thread, but an easy fix for the redbox is to disbable strict mode under developer options. Soon as someone sees this with enough post to post in developer forum this thread can be closed. Just wanted to let you all know. Information gained for Joelz twitter page so all credit to him... well whoever the guy was he asked lol
Thanks

Thanks bud. I went to post it in the dev section but it was already there
Looks like I still get the red box. Am i the only one?
i've had the same problem. there's been a couple things i've wanted to post in the dev section for a while but i have never worked up enough posts. i knew about the strict mode (same thing happened in deeper_blue's honeycomb port for the nook color) from day one but didn't know exactly where to disable it. wish i'd pointed people in the right direction earler.
It appears as though toggling the mode is what fixes the redbox not necessarily disabling. I haven't had the issue since personally no matter what I try, as it happened constantly before hand. Your mileage may very good luck!
Doesnt seem to work...

[Q] Most recent root method/link?

I had rooted my Nook Color and then was running CM7 off the SD card. Eventually, the screen had issues, so I returned it (still under warranty) and got the Nook Tablet. I'm pretty much liking it stock, but would like to root it. (Ideally, I'd like to run an OS off the SD card again, but I understand that's not available yet.) I'm a little lost with all the different threads and links floating around. I want to be sure I'm using the latest, and most problem-free, method.
Can someone point me to the latest, and easiest, rooting link? Indirect's, yes?
Thanks, Lori

use indirect's root if you still want to keep the B&N experience (apps, books, etc)
use snowball mod if you want an almost pure android tablet (B&N is basically removed)
i like snowball mod cause i don't really use B&N services and it gets rid of bloatware which is always nice...
There is a thread that was just created for Noobs...just read that thread, very informative.
Edit: core is for...sorry spell checker
Core noobs? What does that mean? Obviously, I know what noobs mean, but not sure what you're referring to. Do you have a link?

I don't like to hold hands for anyone. Yes we were all new to things but before you jump in the water you should learn how to swim. People get on these forums, see root files and jump in and when they are drowning or have drowned expect to get a quick fix which isn't fair to those who do their homework and research...just saying. If I'm posting from my phone or tablet, I don't go out of my way to provide links; hence the reason I say search.
If I post asking a question it's after I did all my homework and once I don't locate, I'll ask because no one knows all the anwers.
man, sometime i think it is more effort for us to copy and past a link than it is for noobs to just take the initiative to read... ><; Not to take it out on this one poster, but i have seen many people post a question like "hey everyone I am new, update me on whats going on"... instead of just reading.
First, let me say, "Thank you," for your video, which was very helpful.
In response to what you wrote, I do read. I read quite a bit. Perhaps you've forgotten what it's like to learn something in a language you don't speak. When you're new to this stuff, every single thing you read contains something you don't understand. And you look things up and look things up, until you've got 20 windows open on different topics, in the hope that you can piece it all together, and remember what you were looking up in the first place. If I've spent more than 45 minutes merely trying to "find" the information I need, which is no small task with a search feature that doesn't let you search phrases, and another couple of hours sifting through the confusing information, I don't think it's a stretch to then turn to those in the know, on a newbie forum, for help.
Again, I appreciate very much what you guys (and girls) do. But you post it up here for people to use.
I don't know about other newbies, but sometimes I feel like I'm going to be flogged if I don't word things the right way or perform the prerequisite quantity of searching beforehand. I do my best.
Again, thanks to those of you who have helped me out.

I'm posting from my phone and providing a link would be a LOT of work, so excuse my lack of linking.
There was a new method posted up that allows you to keep root and update to 1.4.1. The problem is that 1.4.1 will not allow sideloading from the browser, and the author doesn't hold your hand through the whole process. Its nowhere near as nooblet friendly as Indirects root method.
The learning curve is STEEP, some of us are still working on it. The faq sticky is AWESOME and has a ton of link to helpful stuff, incuding my own ADB guide.
Thanks for the new info!

This has been the only place I have found to help with our quickly forgotten tablet.
I have this tablet, since no developer has it, so you can't expect any more development better is to donate it to some expert.
