I am currently using CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG by Grif_07.
The most important thing missing in this great ROM is "grouping" contacts!
I am a text geek and I send around 100+ SMS daily to my friend circle. I foreword SMS to my friends which I group according to my convenience. I was doing this with my Gingerbread unrooted SGA. But now I have rooted my phone and installed most amazing ROM but it's lagging this extremely important basic feature. I did search and found that CaynogenMod officially not having this feature and can't found any patch for this. I used GO SMS pro but failed to create any group. It shows group tab but not allowing me to add any contact to the groups. I also used Handcent sms app. It is allowing me to creat group but after creating a group it do not allow editing group. So all we have to rebuild the group which is pathetic.
So is there any solution to my problem? Any app or patch to enable grouping feature to send group sms?

Sorry for starting a new thread I know a junior member feels himself like an alien if he starts a new thread but i am really missing feature of sending group sms.
I have the problem to send group sms to many recipients. Currently I have to add all one by one but Can I make groups to forward text directly. I am using group SMS but that is not as good as I have this functionality with TPC's ROM in Kaiser. I am missing this in HD2. I search on xda & on google but unable to find any solution yet. Please help.
okay! 1st of all let me tell that I am a old win 6 and 6.5 user. Just in July, switched to the world of Android. But still expecting few things as that of my old windows mobile. These are maybe in my new phone but I failed to get it work even I tried lots of googlings!
Well I am a college student so I mostly use group messaging. In frayo I can send 20 per time but now in Gingerbread it's limited to 10. Well it's not the issue. My main issue is the threads. Whenever I send msgs to group it creates a separate group. In my win mobile the grp msgs were getting categories as a conversation with the individual in that grp.
Is there any setting or any app that can place the sent msgs to the respected buddies conversation thread instead of being at one place.
Even is there any way to find out whom I msged in the grp messaging?? Because when I send 10 sms once a time it doesn't show any details except 1st few names of the grp members. So is there any way to find out to whom I msged??
I hope you guys are getting my question.

I think, GO Sms could help you. New message-> + contacts -> Group - there u can check your buddy's grup. U have to have defined that group before that U can do this via pc (www.google.com/contacts) or on your phone via some contacts manager.
You don't even need to define a group, in fact. You can check the contacts you wanna send it to. After that, once sent, the messages will be posted into individual contact's threads.

Pretty simple question ... How do I send a Group SMS to a group of contacts I have defined in Android ICS ?
I was using a HTC Sense 3.5 ROM before, and that had an option to send Group SMS once I opened the Group in the default Contacts application ... But I don't see any similar option in ICS ...
Any suggestions ?

i read some articles dealing with this topic and the only solution wich was statet there is to type all the contacs in the box on the top of the screen when ure writing a new sms

I have been trying out various group messaging apps and having no luck finding what I need. From what I have read in the forums, 4.2 will solve my group messaging problems. I have a Note 2 so I am assuming I will get that update in the next few months. Until then, I need some help! I have about 20-25 contacts that I am the manager of. I regularly need to send reminders and important info via SMS. I have regular SMS messages that I send on a daily basis. What I need is an SMS/MMS app that will allow me to choose templates or custom mesaages, then send those messages to a group or groups of contacts. I have set up groups in my phone already, but that will only allow me to send up to 10 contacts at a time. Then when I do pick my group, I have to checkbox all the ones in that group that the message is to go to. This is a pain! I have spent hours reading through the forums for recommendations, then tried those recommendations. Does anyone out there know of an app that will help me out?

I use CM 10.2 on my HTC ONE X and I really enjoy it. However I have a problem regarding group messaging:
I am in a few group messages, mainly consisting of iPhone users, and all they group text are shown as individual threads. If I want to answer into the group message, I cannot do it. I am using FB Messenger for my SMS/MMS, but I looked at the default Messaging app and all the messages are grouped into individual threads also.
I did some research, but I only found some workarounds using apps like goSMS, but I want to use either FB Messenger or the stock one. I found some websites that claim that this issue was fixed with Android 4.2.2, but it doesn't appear to be.
