Finally got my 64GB Champagne Prime - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

My 64GB champagne prime from amazon has Finally arrived. However I am a little disturbed that fedex decided to leave my $616 investment on my porch.. in Detroit . luckily I was up and heard the truck pull up but as I walked to the door I seen him pull off so I thought he just left with my prime without knocking. The unit is cold so I am going to let it warm for a min before turning it on before I go in for work tonight. I have to say this thing is really something to look and I also will say that if this would have came a few weeks ago I would have ripped into it so fast but not so much now. The "kid on Christmas" feeling has worn off for me because of the wait.

New Egg Grey Dock shipments rolling in!

For those snipers out there that managed to get a grey dock during the 15min opportunities that there were in the last few days, rest assured, the docks are being shipped.
Not bragging, just letting you guys know so you can check on yours to verify and maybe sleep a little better tonight.
When I got on newegg chat yesterday to check on my order, the rep was freakin clueless. Had me thinking they were overseas outsourcing or something. They couldn't verify that my order was being shipped or even if it existed in the warehouse. At the end of the chat I was very upset and worried about my order.
To give you an example, here's part of the convo.
Me: My order status says processing instead of shipped, but it's overnight and rush processed that was put in yesterday.
Rep: Well, I don't see it in the system. I'll send an email to the warehouse and you will get a response back in 24 hrs.
Me: I'm suppose to receive shipment in 24hrs not verification of my order!?!?!?!?
Rep: I've refunded your rush processing, regular processing take 2-3 days. Thank you for your patience
WHAT!!?!?!?!?!
(a couple more round turns like that and I was done)
I ordered in that first 15 minute window and I am glad to say I am typing this on my keyboard dock. It is awesome. I just wish I hadn't let the back of my tablet get scratched as much as I did. It's not bad but it will probably drve me crazy. It's odd how little I saw the back of this tablet before I got the dock.

1/11/2012 - ABE's Have a few TF201 in stock...

Just FYI, ABE's have a few TF201 on stock right now... http://www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=ASTF201-B1-CG&id=ASTF201-B1-CG&&kbid=TF201
HIT THANKS IF WAS USEFULL>>>!
Good. The more people who get the champagne, the more likely we are to see the champagne dock sooner. Or so one would hope...
Yup, mine is being delivered tomorrow from Abe's - whew!
Very disappointed that ABE's jacked the price over $500. I buy from them quite often because they're located about 10 miles from house in NJ, and usually have great prices.

It may have something to do with the cost of excessive calls from people like us. When I called yesterday about the docks I detected a hint of what I'll call Prime Fatigue -- "Oh for the Primes? We've been waiting just like you guys."
I bought the dock from them also, they shipped yesterday... Gray one.
Yikes! ICS Rocks...
So glad I canceled them 2 weeks ago for the keyboard dock. Ordered on Newegg the same week when someone here posted they were in stock ahead of Newegg's own auto-notify emailer.
Arrived this passed Monday right before the ICS update.

Found 2, should I buy?

Sorry to bother you guys but i need to know, im tore weather i should try and snag one now and risk defects or wait 6 months for the next one.
The prime was going to be my first tablet but thinking it might be better to wait for the new version, id like to hear from both owners and potential buyers. Not sure how long i have before somone buys them before me lol. Thank in advance.

Go for it!
When I got mine, the screen was damaged, but I don't blame ASUS. I blame Best Buy because their cheap a$$ sent it in a white plastic bag relying on the retail box for protection.
I was very happy with it when it worked. A new one is on its way.
You can't go wrong! The dock just completes it as well. I can't wait for mine to come back!
Go for it IMO. Its my first tablet as well and I am loving it. I wouldn't want to wait 6 months for one , as only 6 more months or even less than that tegra4 tablets will have ETAs.
By the way, Gamestop says they can ship within 24 hours. It comes w/ a game controller, apparently.
[I can't post link b/c I'm new, but it's searchable.]
i was bit concerned too, after reading these forums for a few days; but i decided to give it a go, cause ive been waiting for TFP for long time. Now i have it ordered and looking forward to get it on monday (grey 32gig with dock).
Go for it!! It's a great first Tab!!!
Ok guys thanks for the advice, I have them holding one for me ill pick it up in a hour or so hopefully all checks out.

let us know how you like it.
Well I just got mine and had it for two days and I really enjoy it, my model has the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth issue but I am sure that will be fixed by Asus for current and future models, other than that this thing is amazing. If you get it now you will not be disappointed and if you wait for the new model... well you still won't be disappointed lol so its up to you to take the chances.
Edit: woops, guess I was too late to help in the decision making process lol, good luck with your new device.

Consider picking up a champagne tab and grey dock. The combination is really nice.
This is my first tab as well and i am more than happy with it, I tether to my evo3d 4G so I don't notice WiFi issues...I was going to buy a gtab 10.1 and I'm sooo glad I found this instead... Let us know what u think when u get it

2 Fry's in Houston are supposed to have 64GB in stock... I just hate having to play full price + tax when I have my pre order on Amazon still for only $300... just wish I had some info on when Amazon is getting their next shipment.

I received mine today, and it unfortunately suffers from all of the reported issues. Wifi was shoddy (practically non-existent with BT on), and I'm no more than 15 Feet away from my router anywhere in my house. My GPS didn't lock on ANY satellites, and even the Wifi assist didn't seem to be working correctly. And the one speaker on the back is... annoying to say the least (a feature I didn't think would bug me as much as it did).
My specific unit also has some pretty bad light bleed on the right-hand side, and the force feedback quacks like a duck. I also find it very scary that all of the ports on this tablet were designed so that the plugs are exposed, and the Micro-SD card overhang is completely unacceptable. My unit also suffers from random lock-ups and restarts.
I did have one of the units with a good camera and auto-focus worked correctly. The aluminum back is gorgeous, the graphics currently (key word) cannot be matched on any other android tablet, and aside from the light bleed, the display is very pretty; Crisp, clean and bright.
I'm still very disappointed overall. There are many quirks to this tablet that prevent it from being worth the asking price, and I think anyone who says these issues are acceptable is hiding their own disappointment due to the long wait for this supposed-to-be Android pioneer to launch.
It's beautiful, but these glaring 100%-avoidable issues should not be shrugged off, and shouldn't have been shrugged off by the mainstream media.
I would personally recommend waiting for the 700T or another upcoming Tegra 3 tablet.

Well ****. I just sent mine back to Amazon in nothing but the retail box. lmao

[Q] Want A HP TOUCHPAD ItS ON WOOT FOR CHEAP NOW

Do you want a Touchpad
it wont let me post links im trying as fast as I can
sellout.woot-dot-com/sale/23916 16GB $169
woot-dot-com 32GB $219
They go for about the same on Craig's List
If the timing of Woot isn't good for your budget, keep an eye on Craig's List. They're going for around the same prices on my local one, often NIB, or used, but with accessories. (I got one of mine for $200, with a screen protector and an A-Case included.)
I bought the last TouchStone For $21.50 at one of the Office Depots near me yesterday, along with another charger for $14something.
You can find cases and screen protectors on Amazon for reasonable prices easily enough too.
For such a great toy as the TP you can't really complain if the price is sub $230. HP still has TP cases online starting at $7.99, and again, you can't complain about the price.
So happy
I decided to pull the trigger on the 32 and hand off my 16 to someone else. This is still the best deal in tablets.
I just picked up a 32GB off Craigslist. Wish I waited so I could get my AWESOME HP PROPIETARY CHARGING CABLE.
*sigh*

I already have a HP Touchpad. I informed my wife of the WOOT sale last night since she has been going crazy for one after she saw me with mine. I didn't have my money in the bank (I hate banks) and i was working so she asked her parents for money. Her mom said she would wire transfer the money after work. That would have been too late, so on my break i quickly went to the bank and told her to have the order page ready. I deposited the money and phoned her up, "Order denied" was what she got. They had sold out, she told me she almost cried.
A few hours later i check for the hell of it and i see they are available again. I have $225 in the bank so this is going to work out right? Nope, order kept getting denied on my phone. I thought maybe it was my browser acting up. Got home and tried placing the order again on a PC and no luck. I'm confused at this point, I check my bank and see that Netflix charged me and brought my $225 down to $221. It's too late to go to the bank, my Paypal doesn't have $225, 2 forms of payment aren't accepted either. I tell my wife to go get an AMEX card and i hand her $225 in cash. She leaves in a rush and forgets her phone. 2 minutes after she leaves and a million F5 pokes per second later, i see "SOLD OUT!"
How am i going to break it to her when she gets back?
Should i just stand at the front door with my Touchpad displaying the SOLD OUT! page?
AMAZON MAN!!! At least that's where I got mine under used category but it was brand new just had the box opened. They sell new units under the used category on amazon all the time. Just got to catch the right person with the right feedback. If they sold them last night they had more somewhere.

Quality of your dock? 2 bad ones now.

Curious if anyone else has issues with the docks?
My first, a champagne from Newegg had a bad ripple and dent on the mousepad. I returned for RMA (they had some in stock when I returned it but would not hold), and of course they refunded my money as they sold out and I lost out in all shipping to and from. Thanks Egg!
My second from Best Buy also has a 1.5" ripple in it. Now I have had over 50 laptops in my life, multiple tablets and keyboards/docks (even 101) and none had this issue. Is this Asus rushing out their products at the expense of quality control?
Anyone else?
I would post a pic to assist others but this forum forbids pretty much everything unless I have enough post. Sorry
nope. nothing but positive stuff to say about the prime and dock here bro.
Good to hear, perhaps as they say about the 3rd time.....
Nothing wrong with my dock either. BC Prime and C1 dock, working great, both from Newegg.
The trackpad on mine is kind of wavy.. But you only really notice it held at the perfect angle with the light shining off of it. Otherwise, works just fine and don't notice it in use. Not worth shipping back to tiger direct.

I'm thinking most of them are 'wavy' just that most folks are not bothered or find it worth returning. That probably describes my 2nd one. My first was really bad.
Mines perfect also.
I ordered mine from Wal-Mart. Arrived 100% perfect!
Mines working perfectly

Mine is working perfectly too!!! I got mine at BestBuy.
I dont quite know what you mean by ripple, do you mean that theyre warped?
I brought two, both perfect. touchpad and all
OK, well I was a bit apprehensive after looking at my buddies grey dock (which is his second after he returned his first for separating) and his new one had a little 'dent' and wave. Not as bad as my prior 2 but still....4 not so perfect units. However, today I received my champagne from Tiger Direct and it is PERFECT! Stuck my 64gb card in it and now charging. So far no issues.
I just wish someone would build a quality case for them now.
Good dock
Received mine from Office Depot last week. No problems whatsoever.
No problems here.. build feel pretty solid.
Bad Dock Hinge
The left lock on my hinge wouldn't close completely, so my tablet was always a little wobbly and never perfectly settled.
Asus has it right now and is sending to Taiwan for a new hinge.
Thing is, this was the ONLY problem with it, and I've heard so much about Transformers with issues that I'm afraid to get them to send me a new one.
Thinking of RMA'ing my dock
The mouse button has always clicked and the back seems to be coming apart. It seems like a screw is loose screw but I can't see anything obvious.
Asus Support are hinting at customer damage which makes me a little reluctant to send back but my Prime has been wrapped in cotton wool since purchasing.

My buddy described the same on his first dock, he returned it and received a good one albeit the mouse pad issues.
Well, the metal at the front of mine just below the touchpad has turned to ****.
its all warped and messed up now, and I treat my touchpad insanely well, seems to be the rubber causing the dock to warp thanks to how thin it is >_>
Also on top of that I started to notice the keyboard was marking the glass, so I now have to keep a cloth between the two.
Luckily mines not falling apart at the back but I do need to find a way to correct the front warp if possible
I finally got mine from BB yesterday but mine also has 2 indentions in the click portion of the trackpad. I thought it might be just like left click, right click indentions but they aren't symmetrical so it's definitely not supposed to be there. The keyboard is also marking the screen. It took so long to find the dock ><
Nope, mine if fine. Ordered from Newegg and came in sealed and perfect. They even gave me a free shirt
