+1 to that.

You should have got I9100G. Return it ASAP, as I9100 are not covered by Indian Samsung care centers.

Not really. Mine does say I9100 but its actually an I9100T. Its because I flashed I9100 firmware. You can only be sure by checking under the battery.
To the OP, you've got no chance. Samsung as far as I know only honour invoices from official sellers / resellers etc. So buying off eBay or markets etc means no warranty.

Dude, by default all I9100 are known as "International version GS2" unless they are carrier locked or something. Its nothing to worry about.

[Q] SA I9100 or GT I9100

Hello all!
I am in the USA for a few weeks and wanted to buy a GSII off of either Amazon or Ebay. Normally I am in Eastern Europe, and things like this cost more there.
I have been doing my research and found that there is a SA I9100 and a GT I9100. Is there a difference? I understand that SA is for South America, and GT... well what is that for? NA? EU? In any case, would I have any performance issues if I buy one vs the other? What should I be looking for? I want to buy it by Monday to allow it enough time to ship to me before I ship out, so I appreciate your quick responses.
Thank you very much, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Never heard of SA.. Just buy GT as it is the widely used and the main version of sgs2.. you can have lots of modifications with GT-i9100 in this forum..

I cant't find the specs of SA dude.. but they said SA is South American i think.. but imho, you should buy GT because it is the widely used sgs2 and has more development in all of the sgs2 family.. like sgs vs sgsl.. sgs is the international veraion with alot of developers while sgsl is released only on specific part of the world.. sgsl is an awesome phone but has been neglected by developers.. so go fpr GT

Ok, sounds good. Did you hear anything about the "International Warranty" on the GT or SA? One of the main things that I liked about what I saw about the SA was that it had one, and I dont live in the USA
Also, i found a white one (ive always had black phones, wanted to try something new) with model number: GT-I9100RWA
I searched but couldnt find anything specific about it on this forum.
I did find this:http://icecat.cn/dk/p/samsung/gt-i9100rwa/smartphones-8806071648507-galaxy-s-ii-i9100-10646956.html
to compare it to another GSII ( GT-I9100LKA): http://icecat.co.uk/p/samsung/gt-i9...6071417615-galaxy-s-ii-8023003.html?ti=offers
Are those letters at the end only to distinguish color?
I also found a GT-I9100LAXEU
Any difference there?
Diferencias.!
hi all. "excuse my English"
Reading what you ask I answer this SA-i9100, it's actually a GT-i9100G bringing another processor 4430 and IMAP is not the exynos we're used to seeing in black SGS2 .. look on google differences between the GT-i9100 SGS2 and GT-I9100G ..
I have the white and I can not root ..

I want to buy NFC tags. Help please

Since our phones have NFC, I want to buy NFC tags. I'm on www.buynfctags.com. They list 2 types of tags ULC and 1K what is the difference and which one do we need for our phone?
Thanks.
Not sure which model you have but most S2 versions don't have NFC.
Sent from my GT-I9100T
My phone has the NFC option. and also has the TAGS app pre-installed (which let's you program the tags).
Ok. I think you are in the wrong forum. Check the one for the at&t sgsii skyrocket. It's further down the list. This one is for the international model.
Sent from my GT-I9100T
Reading the product blurbs the "1K" device has more memory whereas the "ULC" has Cryptographic features. Some interesting downloads: http://www.nfctags.com/nfc-tags-downloads

Indeed, what sxi200 said above. You have an SGH-I727R. Not a GT-I9100.
I just posted about it in your other thread.
The i9100p has NFC. As far as I know that's orange UK also a T-Mobile US variant. So he is on the right forum LOL if your in the UK mate not many places use NFC here yet. You might have to wait a while.

No. sorry. T-Mobile USA model (SGH-T989) does support NFC, but is a completely different model, which also has its own forum.
And yes, I9100P is the I9100 variant that supports NFC.
BUT, if you had bothered to click on the link in my post, you would have seen that I quoted a post of his in another thread where it was signed that he posted from an SGH-I727R.
So, wrong forum.

Need firmware for US

I have an GT-i9300 SGS3 with South Africa firmware (XFE, AP=i9300xxale9, CP=i9300xxle8 CSC=i9300ojvale9), but I'm using it in the United States, on AT&T, and am not able to receive updates thru either Kies or Update menu. I will NOT be traveling outside the US anytime soon. What should I load that would let me receive updates here in the States OTA?

No.
That is very bad advice.
He has the international model, as he clearly stated in the OP.
@OP: Flash anything with the CSC "BTU" its for Britain but its unbranded and gets updates first (usually)
You'll need to set up fast dormancy settings but there is a thread by ceo.mtcl all about that (he's using an international one on at&t too)

[Q] Chinese phone, what model do I have?

Got a Galaxy 3, in Chongqing China. In the middle of the haggling proses (700USD) I discovered that the IMEI on the box and the phone wasn’t matching (every possible thing have to be inspected in china). The seller didn’t seem bothered by my questions about the IMEI, and told me something about Hong Kong, UK and smuggling, I didn’t really get it! After some more negotiation I got the phone down to about 500USD, and where told 700USD if I wanted same IMEI on the box and the phone.
Anyway now I want stock rom on my phone and are unsure what rom to install? This is the info I have.
Connected to Kies:
Device name: SGH-I747M PDA:LEM / PHONE:LEM /CSC:LEM (TLS)
Printed on phone (under battery):
GT-I9300
Setting- About device:
Baseband:T999UVLEM
Bulid number: romup dott com
Thanks,
Wrong IMEI probably a stolen / cloned / fake phone .
Details are not reading as a Samsung I9300 phone .
99.99% sure this is a fake or possibly a stolen USA network phone that has been customized .
jje
The model number doesn't look great, it should say i9300 not just "Samsung Galaxy S III" there's like 4 different models.
The i9300 can't receive 4G. I'm not sure why that phone has the 4G symbol because mine doesn't show that.
I checked that romup.com website and despite the look of the website I couldn't find anything saying the phone was a replica or anything like that
Hopefully you haven't bought a replica, I've seen some of the fakes that are being produced right now and oh wow.. they're 1:1 alright. They don't even suffer in terms of hardware, I've seen some models have a quad-core processor and a 8mp camera etc

I do not think it's fake, normally all fake Chinese phones fairly easy to detect. Have compared it with other s3 without finding differences. But guess its a gray market phone. Anyway do you think its possible to get a stock rom on it?

1) The box will have no IMEI
2) The screen size will not be the same (it will be big but slightly off)
3) The back of the phone/case
4) On some of the models the "Samsung" title is raised
5) It will be slightly thicker then the original S3
6) won't report correct model number
7) will not have samsung features, by this I mean the camera will not be samsung, the gallery etc etc.
There's many different models some are better then others so these ways to detect a fake are not universal, the best way is "about phone" and yours is showing signs of a fake.
Connect your phone to the PC

Not sure about 6) and 7) you know. I have studied the rest, and every thing else leads me believe it is an original. Sim card slot is on the same spot, the screws are on the same spots..... And yes the phone is working great, but I really want the latest rom.
Just called a friend of my working for Telenor Mobil (my operator) he told me from what he could read on the network side my phone show up as Samsung SGH-T999, and the IMEI is not blocked.
What are the risk trying to install stock rom or anything else on this phone?

I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A U+ module in south Korea and i will be using in India
Just wanted to know is there any problem on using the Phone in India.
I got passive commands from South korean Mobile selling person that mobile will work in India, but i have heard that there will be problem on SMS usage, since korean SMS carrier frequency is different than Indian and also SMS service uses 2byte for each character whereas Indian it will 1byte for each character.
Did u buy S3 mobile at South Korea and did u face any problem for using in India?
What is ur Mobile service provider type whether it is U+ or SK tetecom(basically they are the service provider at Korea)
Surely you can use S3 Korean variant in India.
I am using SHV E210 L from last 8 months without any problem. You can use it on stock ROM or you can root and use custom ROMS.

It surely depends on if the device is locked to a specific carrier or not. Like it was said earlier, if it is the International I9300 model, it works like a charm. If the model is different, then make sure it isn't locked to a specific korean mobile carrier and it should work fine.
