{Q} Invalid flash mode (s) boot failure - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hello my friends...A friend of mine owner of a european razr got stuck at this death screen where nothing can happen. The phone actually doesn't open at all.It gets to this screen only when inserting the usb cable after showing the motorola logo. Even leaving it in the charger for hours still doesn't let it boot without the charger or the usb pc cable plugged in.
The only thing that I found out is that if I plug in the charger and at the same time press the vol up and vol down buttons then it goes to Boot mode selection with 7 selections available. But which ever I press the phone returns to the Invalid flash mode screen...
Any ideas?
PS: The phone was previously rooted.

Use SBF files on developer section to try recover the phone. To install it, use RSD Lite.
Good Luck.

[Q] Dead RAZR

Hey guys, I need some help I recently acquired a seemingly dead RAZR. When it was unboxed the phone would bootloop, according to the previous owner sometimes the phone would manage to start up but rarely. The previous owner did try to fix this bootloop but was unsuccessful (I do not know what he tried to do). I will try to explain my current situation as best I can and someone with more RAZR experience can give me help and get this phone up and running
When I connect the phone to my PC via 2 different USB cables (neither are the Motorola one that came with the phone) the notification comes on and is white. The phone will not respond in any way except for this white light.
When I use the same 2 USB cables connected to a wall outlet I get the Motorola logo for a brief second then I get the following message:
Code:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.6C
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED, Status Code:0
Battery Low
Cannot Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0x004E)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)
When it is at this screen I can use the Power + VOL UP + VOL DOWN for 10s shortcut till the screen turns off and then releasing the power button but keeping the 2 volume buttons down I can get to the recovery menu. When I try to enter AP Fastboot mode I get booted back to the above error screen. I have tried this thread to no avail in an attempt to get something out of the recovery menu. I have installed the USB drivers from this thread and at no point does RSD Lite detect the phone.
EDIT
After a while plugged into the PC the phone turned on exactly as it does when its plugged into the wall; brief Motorola logo followed by the above error screen
Not sure whether it matters but I have access to a Windows and a Linux installation. Lastly it is a Rogers RAZR. Thanks in advance guys.

Hi
Dont worry you made a nice deal. You'll have a little work to fix it but not so hard.
You have a latam razr and it will not charge 'till you flash a new rom on it.
Previous owner tried to flash sonething got an error resulting in a bricked phone.
Now your genius start working. You did some reading by now just read a lil more
Take sometime to make this factory cable you gonna need it to flash a rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403100
And this is the rom you'll flash after doing the factory cable to bypass your lower battery

I'm curious would it be any help to get the original USB cable that came with the phone? Because while I don't have it, I can get one.

Alright, just curious
Would I not be able to flash the Rogers Fastboot file found here I want to try reselling the phone once I've fixed it and having the appropriate stock software would be best
You can trick a Razr into power-off charging mode without the special cable.
Press and hold power and volume down until the screen flashes.
Release those buttons and press all three side buttons (power, vol up and vol down). When the bootloader menu pops up, plug in the charger.
Use the volume down button to scroll to the SBF option and use volume up to select it. Now press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds then release. This will automatically put your phone in the "powered down/charging" mode.
Wait till the battery charges all the way then complete a fastboot load.

You can flash stock Rogers. First make the Factory cable. Without battery you'll not flash anything.
In this mean time, try the above trick to see if you get it to charge. Will probably not, but give it a try.

Do you mean the device won't power on at all?
If that's not the case, then power+Vol-Down will power off the device after about 8 seconds.
It that is the case, it should go into power-off/charging mode automatically when the charger is connected, if the battery is completely drained.
This won't work from a PC's USB port. Use a charger.
try what PeterTowersSon told you (PedroTorresFilho or PedroTorresHijo )
get a diposable microsd and transform it on a factory cable
this way the Phone is tricked into thinking it has battery and will program.
in Ebay you can get cheap cables.

Seems like I already have a local buyer or I might just keep it, it'd be a nice upgrade from my Captivate sorry about that
So I almost have the cable done before I finish though, once I have a working cable can I then use it to get into AP Fastboot mode via the pwr+vol up+vol down combo then flash a new ROM via RDS Lite?

OK so I've built the Factory Cable and it seems to work, going to AP Fastboot mode I get a screen with this message:

To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down

Battery OK

Connect USB
Data Cable
The problem is that RSD Lite does not detect the phone on the PC. Not sure if it matters but I am connecting it via a USB Hub.

[Q] Droid Razr stuck on M logo. Wont charge!

I tried downloading the new 4.0.4 leak and it didn't work :/
But anyway i set my phone back to original stock and my battery must have died.
So now my phone is doing something weird. I go to turn it on and it wont go past the M logo.
When I plug it into the charger it still wont go past the M logo, nor does it charge my battery. I can't plug it into the computer because the phone is so dead that it gives me "the white light"
I can't send my phone in because I rooted it and they won't do anything..
Please help!
Try following Steps:
Boot in AP Fastboot > Connect your Wall Charger > Press Power
If you're an lucky Guy, your RazR will pass the red M and jump into the Battery Screen.
If your system is broken, you have to order an Factory Cable. With this you can flash the correct system signed or use the modded Utility for CDMA Leaks, to get your Phone back to life.
Wish you luck dude.

ur phone boots up automatically so have vol + & - held then pick AP Fastboot then press power button to turn off phone and then see outcome?

[Q] SBF failed stuck on M bootscreen help!!

I tried to sbf back to stock but it failed. RSD lite says "Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. Phone[0000]: Error switching phone to BP Pass through mode (0x70E); phone disconnected". I never unplugged the phone and I have no idea what to do. When I hold the power and volume down buttons it stays on the res M boot screen and it doesnt show the menu. Please help me, I hope I'm not bricked.
Charge only mode
I just plugged it in hoping that BSR would still be in it, but it booted into charge only mode. I dont know if that is any help but I thought maybe since it'll boot into that maybe I could do something with it.
Fixed it
I got it to boot and tried to SBF again and all went smooth. I have no idea what happened but for anyone else who has this problem, this is how to fix it. Plug it into the wall letting it boot into charge only mode, hold the power button untill the screen goes black and then hold it againand it should boot up.
Which USB cable you use?

[Q] Phone bricked after trying to flash delta zip using the app "CyanDelta"

I was using CyanDelta for over months without any problem. Today (1 December 2013), I downloaded an update of about 21 MB of Cyanogenmod Nightly 10.2 for Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH I777. While trying to install it, the phone booted into recovery and installed it. However, during the process of Upgrading, i.e. when the screen says “Android is Upgrading”, “Optimizing App”, the phone got stuck at “Optimizing app 271 of 313”. I waited for about 30 minutes before I manually switched off the phone using the power button. Then I restarted the phone and saw a new boot logo of cyanogenmod; but it got into boot loop. Then I booted into recovery and manually installed the new zip (of 1 December 2013) found in CyanDelta folder. Still the phone could not boot. Now I saw “Samsung” logo only once and then the phone completely turned off. Now I could not turn my phone on, nor could I boot into recovery or download mode. Also I fully charged the battery before flashing the new Zip.
I tried all other steps to boot my phone like removing the battery and pressing power button for a minute, plugging the usb cable into PC and pressing the volume down button and also all sorts of other key combinations. Nothing could boot the phone. Please help. Is my phone completely bricked or is there any issue with my battery ?

I will definitely try your suggestions and for that I need to buy a USB Jig (as I am unable to boot into download mode). I will get back to you once I get the Jig. Hope I could boot into download mode using USB Jig. Since my phone is hard bricked, will a jig put it into download mode ? As I have read in various other forums that usb jig works only if the phone is soft bricked.

I have no idea what CyanDelta could have done. A firmware hard brick would usually be due to a damaged bootloader. Hard brick means no sign of life what-so-ever. If there is any sign of life, then there is hope. You need to get into download mode to proceed with recovering the phone. If you are unable to get into download mode by any means, then you probably need a jtag repair.
I can't tell from what you've written what you have tried so far to get into download mode. So, here are four ways to possibly get the phone to boot into download mode. Try each one of them before you give up. Also, remember that you must have a good working USB connection as well, especially with the battery out.
1) With the battery in, and the USB cable plugged into your pc, hold down vol+ and vol- but not power, and then plug the USB cable into the phone.
2) With the battery in, and phone connected to the pc via USB cable (plugged in at both ends,) hold down the vol- button.
3) With the battery out, and the USB cable plugged into your pc, hold down vol-, and then plug the USB cable into the phone. The USB cable will supply the power.
4) With the battery in, insert the USB jig.
Any USB jig you can buy should work. They are not phone specific. The only critical factor is that the resistance value must fall within a certain range. I don't remember the exact numbers off the top of my head, but I havn't seen anyone complain about bad jigs since Captivate days.

[Q] Need help with my Droid Razr. (Bricked)

Hey guys,
I had purchased this phone awhile back in 2012 and The model is: XT912. I had rooted it and installed a Custom Rom (Black Widow). The reason why I stopped using it was because I had a cracked screen so I upgraded to a different phone but having alot of issues with my new phone. So I decided to replace my screen for my Droid Razr, but its been awhile since i've used it and been experiencing issues of my phone not booting up and looked online for multiple solutions but no luck.
Issues are:
- Phone needs a USB Wall Charger to be able to be turned on, battery is charged fully but when I unplug my USB Charger, my phone turns off. When I try to attempt to do a fastboot session, I connect my Stock Motorola USB Cable to my PC and on my phone, it shows a white light. But when plugged in to a wall charger, my phone boots up but doesn't boot anywhere besides the motorola logo.
- My phone boots up, shows the motorola logo and goes straight to battery charge and it shows 0% then 5% then 100% sits there for about 3 minutes and then reboots.
- When trying to go into recovery, it stays on the motorola and i've left it there for 24 hours abd no luck.
I've tried multiple things, but its been very aggravating since I've been trying to look up solutions for the past week but still had no luck.
Please help =(

The white light means that your battery is empty, try this:
Booting from AP fastboot to charging mode
If the Device will only boot to AP Fastboot and it says Battery Low
Connect the phone/Device ato a Wall Charger (not PC)
-In AP Fastboot Mode hold Volume down& power buttons at the same time for +10 seconds
- When screen goes black...release power button
-Then IMMEDIATELY press and hold Vol - and Vol+ to boot to Boot Menu.
- In Boot Menu scroll down with volume down to BP Tools, press volume up to select
- Device should boot to Charging Mode with battery icon
- Once battery is charged, try flashing in AP Fastboot again
This will only work if battery charging Firmware is still present and not corrupted
If Motorola Device will not boot to Charging Mode, a Fastboot cable will be needed.
You can buy it or you can make one by yourself, look at the picture.
If you can boot to AP Fastboot mode use this utility to flash stock rom, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr/development/droid-razr-utility-xt913-jellybean-t2861798

I've tried the troubleshooting steps mentioned above but no luck.
What I remember is that, back in the day when I installed the ROM, I wiped everything, incl. the Recovery partition and I believe android version it was on was ICS. When I installed Black Widow, everytime i would reboot it, i had to turn it on a certain way, sort of like safe mode. I've tried it though but no luck
Also, everytime I do plug in a charger, It does show a charge of 100% but once I unplug the USB, it turns off and the only way to turn it back on is plugging the USB back in.
I've also created the cable you've mentioned, but it still shows a white light when plugged into a PC. I've already replaced the battery and the battery is brand new. Just replaced it yesterday.
Any other suggestions? Is there a way to fastboot it so i can install a stock rom with the OTA?
Thanks.

You can't charge the phone with the fastboot cable,it is for flashing the stock rom with RSD Lite when your battery is low.
Here is everything you need
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3023837
Download Motorola drivers,RSD Lite, appropriate sbf file for your region and flash it.
Oh,use Windows 7,not Windows 8

Ok, So I was able to get to the Boot Logo usuing HW Diag. and Boot AP and my screen would show safe mode activated, then it would boot up a logo and I believe its cyanogen mod. It has a Blue Droid with a ring circling around it, but then it restarts. Maybe if i'm able to boot it into safe mode from the beginning, i could start it up.
How do I boot it into safe mode when the phone is off?
Thanks.
