Try flashing some other stock ROM of another baseband

always clear dalvik cache and data before and after flashing new roms, its a good rule to prevent this kind of problem.
Well , I did clear the cache via recovery mode after the upgrade.
As you suggested , I reflashed DDKQ5 and problem persisted.
Should I do a factory reset ? and then do the flash proceedure again?
Second option would be wipe out entire contact list and restoring it.
Kindly suggest.

I know this very well... U are using somehow modified original framework from your last rom by UI Kitchen or anythink else... You must reflash your rom by multipackage file via odin again... Than it will your contact list work...

I was with the same problem like u... It was my theme created in to rom 2.3.5 and when i flash 2.3.6 my contact list doesnt work too.... Every rom have different framework.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
try doing a factory wipe, cache wipe and dalvik wipe
and then try reflashing a rom of different baseband
if it doesn't load try giving a wipe again after flashing..
Dalvik cache wipe is only available on rooted phones. Don't want to do the rooting process.
Tried Link2SD to do the same...it doesn't have access.
Presently , phone is working on XWKS2...Just to try I flashed DDKQ5,problem not resolved.
Should I try to the new version 2.3.6 ? I will be following these steps , please correct me if I am wrong :
1. Factory wipe/reset.
2. Cache wipe. Both via recovery mode.
3. Flash the new firmware.
4. Again repeat step 1 and 2.
Sorry for bothering ....but don't want to brick the ace.
I just flashed DDDK6...problem seems to be resolved.
Only one query though. When connected with KIES it shows following message :
Your software doesn't support upgrading through KIES
Any idea ....Kindly comment/advise.

I just got my SGS2 back from repair today (stuck pixel) and I wanted to installe CM9. I thought I'd start with the latest CWM - the link was broken so I flashed CWM 4.0.0.8, which flashed fine.
When the phone rebooted, it sat in a loop doing nothing. I then flashed CWM 4.0.1.4, which also did not help. I attempted to wipe cache using CWM. A heap of errors scrolled down the screen. I thought I'd restore back to factory kernel and rom, which I did. I am still in bootloop and I have the following text on screen when I go to stock recovery

dunno...most likely you flash wrong rom without reading first...or your zip file not finished download....
check you file..name, actual size before flashing
I hadn't even gotten as far as flashing a ROM, to obtain root, I attempted to use CWM, that is when things went wrong

Samsung Galaxy 19300 International S3 rooted with Omega v5.1/B]
Hi, I need some help please - When I rebooted my S3 after flashing the new JB fonts mod Apk with CWM touch it started "updating Android" & proceeded to count up over 300 & then it said "scale". Everything looked fine until an error box came up saying:
Home Selection
Clear default in Home Settings>
Applications>Manage applications.
Unfortunately, %1$s has stopped
WTF is this?....it would not let me do anything. I could get back into CWM & reboot to recovery.
After much retrying, I panicked and wiped cache, wiped Davlik & then did a factory reset.
I then encountered loads of problems trying to reflash thestock formware via Odin but eventually I got it reflashed.
Anyway, I have rebooted the S3 and up comes the original start up screen but the above box is coming up & again, it's preventing me from either by-passing it or deleting it.
Please somebody help as I'm very worried?
Thanks a mil for any worthwhile help/support advice in advance

I have tried to restore phone to stock image via v3.0 s3 toolkit/Odin but I still get the opening screen (where you put in United Kingdom & press start) with this error box. It won't do anything if I try to press start, press arrow back button (it vibrates) or press menu button (it vibrates).
Is this a brick/soft brick?
Any help would be greatly appreciated please!

Hi
So I was running the latest JB leak. However after few hours I was unable to send any msg or call to anyone.
So I thought it might be a ROM issue so I thought of going back to ICS stock again.
So I did this:

}
, but my phone got stuck in NAND write. After a long time I disconnected it and now I can't go to Recovery MOde either.
I can only go to download more.
Can My phone be saved?
It doesn't usually say 'get pit for mapping' so maybe you need the .pit file
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Actually, it does normally say "get pit for mapping," (even without a pit file) but it goes by quickly on a normal, successful flash.
1. Try a different usb port.
2. Different usb cable.
3. Different computer.
4. With pitfile. I dont know which is correct.

Hi
I tried to re install it, but this time I launched with Administrative rights.
It worked
Atleast my phone is now starting.
However I can't make any calls, but I can get calls and smses.
Moreover I can also use mobile data.
I don't know if it was because I flashed the latest leak or it's just a network issue.
Can my efs folder be corrupt?
You have soft bricked it

I installed the Latest JB leak. It was all fine , but after few hours I was unable to make any calls or do any msgs.
I was initially, but then I tried to install the Note 2 Gallery and wiped cache and dalvik partition.
After that I couldn't even check balance.
However I could get incoming calls and messages.Even after that.
Could the flash have ruined something?
I have now reverted back to stock ICS and wiped the user data.
BUt I'm still unable to call .
What could be the reason?
Help!
Just a network issue or has the flashed ruined something inside my efs folder/

Check in settings->info->status and look for imei.. If It is still there all should be ok and It could be a modem related problem and for solving that you should try to factory reset the Phone and then flash the cwm zip of the modem You need..

Yup this worked perfect. I can confirm. Just clearing cache in this app wont do it. You need to clear this apps data and cache .
I am rooted and running 4.3
I tried clearing caches, rebooting, all of that....nothing worked until I set Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Data Roaming to 'On'. Just a heads-up in case anyone else is at their wits' end like I was.
Same problem. Can't fix.

how can i sort this problem. CSC:LL2 (XXX)
i've checked the csc on the phone and its O2U
I restored the phone via kies using firmware upgrade and initialization
that didn't help so i installed recovery-cwmtouch-6.0.3.2-GTI9300 via odin, factory reset phone, cleared cache, wiped delvik file then to make extra sure i went in and wiped everything one at a time, sd card ext sd card, preload ect... then used kies again to restore phone and still the same problem.
please don't just reply saying read all the other threads on the same subject.... i have.
many thanks
lee
Kies has decided your phone csc doesn't match the update.
I've never used kies so can't help solve problems with it, apart from recommend you uninstall it.
If your csc has really changed, I've read that the 4.3 update can cause this, then you can download the full rom for your country from sammobile. Check the md5 then flash using odin (remove kies first), factory reset from recovery and the csc will then be set.
CSC is pretty useless for most people, it just seems to complicate Samsung issues.
I've done everything you have recomended apart from removing kies first. I have downloaded every O2U rom from kies from 4.0.4 upto the latest 4.1.2 and I've backed up the efs file for every rom as I've updated via odin. I don't usually update via kies but I just wanted to try and get everything back to stock

Doing what I've suggested will put the phone to completely stock, apart from your flash counter which you've increased by flashing a custom recovery.
If you want to reset this as well then follow the guide in general forum, sticky threads.
The only definite way is for you to flash back your original saved rom .
Alternative would be under search Kies Emergency Recovery .

i've gone back to an O2U rom and i have managed to update to the latest version using ota update but kies is still showing the (xxx) problem
i've wiped the counter with triangle away and unrooted the phone so it is now totally stock.
Totally stock and correct registry entries ???.
Suggest you find the Kies forum some place on the web or try a Samsung forum .

one bit of info i forgot to add.
if i flash a new rom the imei and sn numbers stay correct but if i try and put the efs file back it doesn't work, but if i reset the imei number and sn number with my nspro box i can then install the efs file and it works.
