Since the Prime is an MTP device and doesn't show up as a mounted drive in Windows, I am unable to use Synctoy to sync files between my Prime and my desktop. Does anyone know of a way to sync files to an MTP device? This is driving me crazy.

I got TF201 connected by wifi, pc with windows 7 and a nas linksys N200 both connected by ethernet to the router.
I set windows media player 11 as server and flagged "allow remote control to my device and automatic allow device to steam..." but on the MYNet overhead left corner appears only
the Trasformer Prime and it doesn't appear any DLNA server.
I already bought NAS to see clips, but always the same problem.
The only way is to search files with ES File Management and to open them with MoboPlayer.... that's really uncomfortable !
Nothing to do also with Apps as Skifta or Mediahouse... no server available.
The strange thing is that WMP recognise the NAS !!!
How can i solve my problem?
Thanks,
For devices that don't have support for USB [OTG or full size] and charging at the same time [Example, Nexus 7], do they have any devices, perhaps bluetooth, or maybe wifi, that you plug in your existing USB hard drive, and you can mount it on your tablet [via bluetooth or wireless], and stream the files like that?
The main purpose would be so you can charge the tablet and access a large hard drive, perhaps for videos, or whatever.
Does anybody make anything like this for Android?
And please do not suggest a "wifi HDD," thanks.
You need to share your HDD over network (using a compatible router or a PC as server) and use any CIFS client for Android (like this).

well my router is kinda far away.. and my pc also. :S
Oh... then do you need a portable solution? I dunno about that, but surely the only solution is a WiFi HDD (you can access to your HDD remotely, but you will not can stream files this way I think).
Hey.
I've recently switched from a Goclever a971 tablet to an Asus memo pad fhd 10 lte. On the former one I had set up a auto sync upon connecting the tablet to the pc with the use of Good Sync. The tablet and SD card were shown as seperate flash drives. Now, in the latter the whole tablet is shown as one multimedia device. I tried looking for an option to connect as USB storage, but I only found Multimedia device (MTP) and Camera (PTP).
I've got Android 4.1.2 running. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
My mother is an international airline pilot and downloads a lot of TV shows and movies to watch on her 2-3 hour breaks on her tablet. She had an Asus Transformer Prime which worked well, but it just crapped out. We got her a Nexus 9, but now when we connect it via USB, it doesn't seem to be able to transfer videos from her computer (all Windows 8.1).
We open the video's folder and the tablet's Movies folder, and when we drag the movie file onto the tablet it just displays a (/) no symbol over the cursor. Pictures transfer just fine.
So what's up with that?? Something's gotta be wrong, I know this is possible to do. We did it with her old tablet and I do it with my Nexus 7 and my phone all the time.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
-David
Have you tried rebooting (the tablet) and reinstalling drivers (on Windows 8.1)? If not please do and make sure your connection is on a USB 2.0 port. Let me know if your problem is solved/unsolved.

AirDroid is the way to go, awesome app. I had the same problem with my Nexus but gave up in the end. But AirDroid is so much easier.
Yes, if you are using a USB3.0 connector on your computer, switch to a USB2.0 connector. Also, try resetting the MTP connection by going to "Settings->Storage->USB Computer Connection" and toggling the MTP check box while the cable is plugged in.
Also do the same with "Settings->Developer Options->USB Debugging".

I recently bought a Android PC that act as a Media Center, I plan to connect a 3TB hard drive to it and use the Android PC to play all the files on the TV. The Android PC is network capable, so I was wondering is there a way to "share" the external USB on the network so I can update the contents with new episodes / shows?
I currently have TVersity sharing the drive over a network, which is also accessible from any Windows PC and I want to replicate this ability with the Android PC - any ideas?
Some info:
3TB Seagate Hard drive - not network enabled
Android PC running 4.2.2 - Wired connection although Wireless is possible
All PCs running Windows 8.1 Pro
