I'll try to make this short with as many details to avoid questions you guys may have.
I have an EVO 3D (GSM) from Rogers. About 2 weeks ago I rooted it with Revolutionary, got S-OFF and all that. I then installed LeeDroid and everything worked great.
A few days ago, I guess I didn't charge my phone, I woke up in the morning and my phone was off. I figured, I'll just charge it even while its off, and everything will be great! Nope.
I've tried every solution I could find, different usb cable and all that. From research I've done I think it's just the battery needs to be charged but I think CWM doesn't support charging while the phone is off. Yes I've tried to start bootloader and all that, but the phone will not boot. When I plug my phone in USB, I do see a red light for a few seconds, so I know there's life, but I just need to find a solution.
I read somewhere to just plug it into the computer and use revolutionary, but now when I do it, I get this message: i.imgur.com/mlnpv.png
I've tried various combinations of buttons, removing the battery, sim card, usb charge via computer and outlet, everything.
Please help me find a solution.
Thanks!

The easiest way is to find someone with a evo or sensation, put ure battery in, and charge the sucker. You are using the newest cwm, and thats the problem.
If u use the one in the gsm dev section, you wont have trouble charging while off...

Try plugging in the stock charger to the phone and then charge it from a wall power outlet. Let it sit for at least two hours and see if that helps.

From what I've seen this is the older version of CWM, 4.x, which has been reported to work. Seems to be issues with CWM 5.x on the latest hboot for the EVO 3D, at least from what users have reported.
Hope that helps clarify!

Hey guys,
I installed Rezrom v3.2 on my Rezound yesterday, and it was stable for the most part until this morning. My phone died last night and even though it has been on the charger all day I can't get it to boot into bootloader. When I try to power it on the phone boots then dies immediately. After that I have to let it sit on the charger for another 10 minutes or so before I can try anything again.
I've tried a battery pull (like 40 times)
Like I said can't boot into bootloader, and as such can't get into recovery.
When I connect it to my computer the computer makes sounds as if hardware has been connected, but it doesn't show up in "My Computer"
Please help
Sounds like a bad battery I would see if you can find a friend with a rez and see if their battery works? Have you tryed booting without the battery in not sure if that works on this phone worked on my evo but that sounds like a battery problem to me

I cant recall exactly, but somewhere on these forums there is a thread or two about this. And they also have exact steps on how to fix it, ive never heard of it with rezrom, but im sure it would be the same solution. I wish i could help more but ill see if i can locate where i found the thread.
It's because of clockwork, it doesn't allow the phone to charge in this state
Your only hope is another battery to get it powered to flash amon ra or a battery charger. I've used my thunderbolt to fix this problem

The recovery won't let it charge but it should still provide power to the phone when pluged into the wall or usb. I have amon ra and I had 2% battery level pluged it in booted to recovery flashed a kernel did the hboot flash rebooted and still had 2% then it started charging so I know the phone recives power in recovery. Besides it will deffinetly charge when it is powered off which he said he tried and still couldnt boot I say bad battery but you could be right mabey it is your recovery

So I got my Amaze on Friday, rooted and installed Energy Rom on Saturday, and phone just died on me on Sunday.
I was in the middle of playing Scramble with Friends and phone froze up on me. I had to take the batter out to reset it since the power button was not responsive. After I pulled the battery and put it back in, the phone would turn on.
So i read and read and found out people usually bought new batteries since the most likely culprit was a dead battery. I have a friend with the same phone and tried his battery. I saw the HTC Logo come on for a brief second and then that was it, nothing else. Phone died again and did not turn on (under his batter). I recharged my battery in his phone and tried that as well, but no luck.
Any ideas what went wrong and what I can do to fix this?
The phone is completely dead and not turning on. So that means I can't get into bootloader and recovery.
About Phone:
Unlocked Bootloader
TWRP recovery
Faux Kernel
ENERGY Rom
Any incite on this would be great. Thanks in advance!
Plug it in to the wall charger for 30-45min. Unplug and pull battery again. Put battery back in and you should be good...
Don't be alarmed if the orange led light flashes... It's normal when the phone dies. Be happy you're using twrp and not an old recovery that doesn't have charging while off

Thanks, i actually read those threads before i posted. I think there are more threads about that but i tried all options and none seemed to work. I will try plugging it in the wall and pulling battery out but the battery is at a 100% charge right now (i can confirm from a friends phone). However, if its just a glitch, then i will try the wall charger trick.
Thanks.

Once you get it booted, I recommend 4EXT recovery... But that's just my opinion

Thanks - tried the battery solution but unfortunately it didn't work out for me. Phone just refuses to power up.
Assuming its an official brick.
i have a similar problem, well my battery had charged and running fine for several months, so i unplugged the battery to put my sim on it, and plug it back in when it was booting up it froze on the boot logo, so i took off the battery again so i can reboot it
and ever since it wont come back on, wont either go to the bootloader, so i let it charged all night and nothing happen no led blinking or on, so got my friends amaze's battery to test and it would not do anything at either, right now i am waiting for my replacement, but i hate the fact that this had happen to me
oh wow - well i ordered a replacement as well. I really hope it doesn't come down to a software issue and they don't end up covering the device since it has been rooted.
If the phone is completely dead and non-booting, there's no way for T-Mobile to determine if it's rooted or not. Only until it gets back to HTC to be refurbished could they (HTC) find out but at that point it won't matter to anyone anyhow.
And it couldn't possibly be a software issue. There's something physically defective inside the device that caused it to die.
htc amaze 4g refuse to turn on.
hi all, i'm a newbie here, though i have always loved the XDA. I unlocked my bootloader last night, downloaded and reinstalled my fav apps since i didnt do a backup. while i was downloading the XDA app, my fone freezed and eventually went off. When i tried to get it back on, it got stuck on the white htc screen and later went off after some seconds. It has refused to come on till the time of this post. i really need urgent advice.
I was yet to install a recovery software before the tragedy occurred.
Hello everyone I have a GSM evo 3d. When I plug in USB cable I get a red light for 10 sec then gose out and my phone won't charge. When I plug it into my pc it see it but still won't charge. It was currently flashed with leeroy rom I sent the phone in for repair they said it was third party app damage so I am just woundering what I should do
Turn the power off, plug the phone into the charger and leave it for a few hours and see if it will charge then.

Ya I tried that no luck and the battery is dead so the phone won't power on
Also had a similar thing happened to me yesterday. Was on anryl kernel/ mikrunny rom and I drained the battery on purpose to 3200 mV (calibration, or so I thought) and after pluging it in red LED was "blinking" and I coudn't boot. After initial try I left it charge (still blinking) and after like 20 seconds I managed to boot up. But I don't think you'll be able to boot on usb charge, mine was connected to the wall.

How long did you leave it charged for and was it plugged into your pc or the wall charger ??
#Root_Hack-Mod*Always\
Never send in a phone for repair when it's rooted. Your best bet is to borrow a battery from someone and if it turns on, flash a new Rom/Kernel and see if your phone charges.
Charge it in another phone. . Then unroot it if poss or get it back to as stock as poss then try sending it back?

First flash a stock rom and kernel. If that doesn't fix it, it's either a bad battery or a bad usb port.

Wow to all the comments, possibly your recovery doesn't support off mode charging.
Sensation will fit battery to charge, possibly other phones.
You want to flash 4ext recovery touch as your recovery.
If you have adb installed and you can boot into hboot, it should charge in fastboot. adb reboot-bootloader

Same thing happened to me. It was on my 2amp car charger for 30 mins and 1 amp wall for more than 10 minutes.. then it worked..
I fixed it was an issue with cwm 5. Had to hold the camera buttom while plugged in for 10 sec
Flash 4ext instead.. Works like a charm.. it's compatible with CWM backups.. Never had a problem with it, it even charges while off.. And is faster than CWM..

Hi,
Yesterday I'd tried to flash ICS into my EVO. Since the camera and 3D didn't work, I reflashed it with KingCobra 2.3 today morning. After reinstalling my Apps, I used tethering for 4 - 5 hours. After that my EVO does neither work, nor I can turn it on! Once I removed the battery and put it back in. I tried to recharge it, the LED blinked for 2 or 3 seconds long, and then it turned off again. So practically I can't access anything right now, not even the bootloader. Have somebody experienced the same like me? I'm looking for a solution. Thanks.
I hope i dont run into that problem, did you do a full wipe when you reflashed back? Did you make a nanroid back up??

in the forum about downgrading from hboot 1.5 to 1.4 it talks about what to do if your evo gets caught in this condition
Sounds like your recovery is cwm, charge battery in dock first then try and turn it on

Problem solved as I tried to recharge the battery with my USB cable for 15-20 minutes. The problem is simple: Battery drained.
Nicely done.. Thanks for share, mate..

So, I'm running Ognimnella's 3D Anorexia using Mac kernel, no tweaks, no overclock other than what the kernel is set as for stock, 1.56Ghz I believe. I checked; No water damage either. Last night I remapped my search key to recent apps, and this morning was looking for a way to re-implement the search key function somewhere else. So, I was looking for a way to remap the long press to no avail. Eventually i started looking around in the sys/usr files for something referencing the long press home button to bring up APP_SWITCH so i could remap that to SEARCH and didn't really find anything. However I found a file, I can't remember the name, I don't even know if it's relevant, where the camera button functions were located. I attempted to remap the "FOCUS" key to SEARCH and saved the text, and rebooted to apply changes, (possibly, I didn't even know if it was going to work).
However after leaving it sit for around 2-3 minutes while otherwise occupied, I came back expecting to find it booted up however it was still off. I attempted to turn the phone on, no cigar. Plugged it into my charger. No red light. Nothing. Tried to boot into bootloader. No beans. Tried to use ADB to "adb reboot-bootloader" and it says "no device found." And when I plug it into my computer a strange 3-beep comes through, kinda like when you normally connect a usb, but 3 fast beeps instead of two. I also downloaded the [UNBRICK] file from the sticky and Unknownforces all in one tool and tried em both out in Ubuntu. Neither one of their tools detects my phone after plugging it in. I've tried battery pulls, leaving the battery out for 20 minutes, leaving it on the charger for a half hour, trying to boot without the SD in, and even trying to press camera and volume.
Basically, am i SOL? Did I hard brick my phone, even though I wasn't even flashing anything? And finally, is there anything I could do?
did u use a cdma on gsm as far as the unbricking and do u have cdma or gsm? also were u using the room for a while or just flashed? what radios and hboot ?
Well, I'm CDMA and was hboot 1.5 juopunut S-OFF, had been for going on 3 months, and had flashed it about a day ago and everything was going fine. As to Radios, I couldn't tell you, I've never messed with that.

another possibility, are you using cwm 4.0.1.4 revolutionary or 4ext recovery? Those are the only 2 recoveries that support charging the phone while it is off.
If you can jump start your battery a little with a 9v and paperclip, might help you boot up to recovery. That or borrow a sensation owners battery to test.
How would i go about doing that?
By the way, I am using TWRP 2.2 and was at 97% when I restarted my phone, and it was early morning and I had just pulled it off the charger ~10 minutes before. Could it have been a bad charge?

oh, twrp should support off mode charge as well, soo hmmm.
The reset combo when phone freezes to just restart, not erase is volume up+down and power held together for 10 or so seconds.
Someone also said to hold camera button when plugging in, then try powering on.
No dice on either method. I'm pretty sure I'm sol, and am going to have to buy a cheapo phone off of eBay if I can't convince a Sprint rep to replace it. But I don't know. Thanks though! I aappreciate it.
Hey,
I have the same issue.
I have another HTC Evo 3d and can verify the battery is fully charged.
However when I put in my other Evo 3d it wont turn on.
Plugging in the cable to a charger does nothing and no LED ever comes on.
However my charger turns different colors when charging and the led turns from green to yellow when i plug the broken evo 3d in so something (current being drawn) is happening but the EVO and the LED just won't turn on. I unlocked the bootloader but the phone is still on Sprint Stock Rom.
