[Q] What kernel version came via ICS? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

This was also asked here but I never saw a definitive answer ...
So, what kernel version did the ICS OTA come with?
Simple question, just want a simple answer. I don't care what you're "contemplating" or your "thoughts". Just an answer to the question please.
P.S. My 12/05 pre-order hasn't shipped yet so I don't have mine yet otherwise I'd check myself.

Actually, running ICS 4.0.3, my kernel version is 2.6.39.4

On my new Prime (received Jan. 11, 2012), here's the versions I had before and after the ICS update:
Before ICS:
Android: 3.2.1
Kernel: 2.6.36.3-00003-g339298c
After ICS:
Android: 4.0.3
Kernel: 2.6.39.4

I'd like to know if and when this will be available for my phone. Here's my phone details:

I don't really need to unlock my phone and would like to wait for an official release. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm a noob and there's no info on the HTC support site.

Definitely. Have a play whilst your waiting, try some different ROMs.
Use BTDAG's guide linked in my signature, it has everything you need to know. I recommend it to any beginner.
Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll wait if it's just going to be a couple of weeks.
Just phoned HTC Support. They said there's no official confirmation of the release details, but unofficially, here's what they said to expect:
* v2.1 to be released. Release scheduled for June. Wouldn't be more specific about date.
* Improved bluetooth implementation, inc file transfer.
* Release likely to comprise of preparatory updates, followed by main ROM update.

Thanks to Geoff M for setting this up. Sorry, but this forum site won't let me post a link.

Question about rooting my phone

Alright, I'm not quite sure if my phone can be rooted or not, based off of the various things I've read.
Firmware: 2.1
Kernel: 2.6.29-8a03cb9a [email protected]
Build Number: 2.37.605.4 CL185970 release-keys
I got the phone directly from Verizon about a month or so ago, and it came with 2.1 preinstalled. Is there any way that I could root my phone to some version of 2.2?
Thanks!

[Q] Question about firmware upgrade

Hi everyone.
I bought a LG Optimus One P500 a couple of months ago and I rooted it. The update notificator is telling me now that there's an available firmware update, I have 2 questions:
1) If I do the update, do I lose root privileges?
2) Is it recommendable to do such update?
I have the following under my phone info:
Android version: 2.2
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FRF91
Software version: V10b-OCT02-2010
Thank you in advance for your answers!
You will most likely lose your root as it will update previous root patches. And 2.2.2 has to be downgraded back to 2.2 if you want to root again. 2.2 is very stable. And gingerbread is just around the corner. So, I'd say no need.

Downgrade to Stock to Upgrade to ICS?

Hello friends at XDA,
I'm currently own a EU Razr. I upgraded it a couple of months ago to a Gummy ICS release. It works pretty good, sans Camcorder.
But now i would like to upgrade to the oficial Moto ICS (from what i read, it'll be releasing soon).
I did make a backup using Clockwork of my stock Motorola.
Do i need to downgrade to be able to upgrade? Should I?
Can i use my nandroid backup simply my applying it via Clockwork Recovery?
This is the info on the "About":
Model Number: XT910
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: U_03.1C.78P
Kernel Version: 1.6.35.7-g24431a2 [email protected] #1
Build Number: ICS_Beta_MR1
Apreciate any enlighted info on this

Help updating xt910 from 2.3.6 to ICS

Hello,
I want to upgrade my xt910 from 2.3.6 to ICS, I found videos on youtube, threads here and on other websites too, but I know this is kinda sensitive thing to do so I need your help confirming the steps for me.
first of all this is my device information:
System Version: 65.1.40.XT910.MERetail.en.06
Model Number: XT910
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: U_03.1C.91P
Webtop Version: WT-2.0.0-139
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-g8abf869 / [email protected] #1
AP Flex Version: GAS_ASIA_USASPDRRTUAE_P011 / GAS_ASIA_USASPDRRTUAE_A012
Build Number: 6.5.1-167-SPD-IRD-40
Build Date: Mon Feb 6 21:28:36 IST 2012
I already rooted the device successfully when I bought it.
So here is the steps as I read and saw:
1- Change the system version to 651.73.30.Retail.en.EU ... same as in this video (How to Unbrick/upgrade/downgrade Motorola Razr XT910 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_1-HxdzEo0&feature=plcp )
2- Update motorola razr xt910 to ics(android 4.0.3) on this link ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuRSKeMFPGc )
3- Then update to ICS 4.0.4 on this link ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TCgj5gbmf0 ) using this ROM [ROM, GSM XT910][EuropeAustraliaEMEA] Final EU ICS Fastboot Official fastboot package for Motorola RAZR
Am I doing the right steps?
Which ICS ROM is the best?
I would like to ask, as I read if I update to 4.0.4 there is no way I can go back to GingerBread, but what if I updated to 4.0.3, may I go back to Gingerbread if I didn't like it?
What are the negative points about ICS on droid razr? what stuff not working or something? Should I wait the official ROM?
Is there any custom GingerBread ROM(s)?
Thank you so much for you help.
Pls help.. even i am having the same ME version of RAZR and was thinking of upgraditng it.
please help.
