Has anybody been able to get Quickoffice Pro HD to install on their prime? It looks like the Amazon app store will allow it to be installed but I'd rather install it from the Android app store, I heard that the version on Amazon doesn't get updated as frequently. I tried searching but nothing came up, hopefully this hasn't been addressed already. Thanks!

I have it installed. I didn't get it from either market though. I've had the apk for a while. Not sure why it's not showing up in the market. It works fine as far as I can tell.

It is not available for ICS. I was little disappointed when I found out after I updated my Captivate however Polaris seems to work good so far and should hold you over until they update it.
Yeah polaris doesn't seem too bad, I was hoping to get quickoffice before I go back to school on Monday but polaris will have to do until they make it available. Good to know that it is working though. Excited to use this thing to take notes in class!

hey guys,
i just got my prime yesterday and i've tried opening multiple docs (saved and new) in quick office pro hd (from amazon) and it showed the text as white regardless of the document. i could select, cut, copy, paste, even change the format of the text, but i still couldn't see it in quickoffice. i saved a new doc in QOP HD and opened it in polaris. the text was there - i just couldn't see it in QOP HD.
Could this be an ICS compatibility issue?
Thanks guys!
Surprising the lack of support for ICS from them. This is the only program that I know of that will open and work with macro excel files.
Bought QOPHD directly from the website - Has worked fine since (It can also open the infamous Polaris corrupted saved files)
ps: you need to specify tf101 instead of prime when buying from their website

You have it working with ice cream sandwich?
Curious why it is not on the Market supporting the Prime if it works on it. I won't buy unless it is on the Market or Amazon.
I actually bought my copy from Amazon and it works fine on the Prime.
I got it from the Amazon Marketplace when they had it as a Free App of the Day. It's worked flawlessly for me on my Prime so far.

Yeah, seems to work well these last few weeks. One of the best office apps on android too.
IT DOES NOT WORK 100%
Downloaded after paying $20, and it works fine for most programs, however several macro excel docs have errors and I get an insufficient memory error before crashing. Sometimes even a failure to render graphics error. All with macro files. Before someone says something smart I have 160gb total.
I got it a few weeks back via the Amazon App Market, but I'm not too impressed with the app.
Obviously I can't use basic Window's Shortcut keys for highlighting text and the familiar, but that's the OS' fault, not the app.
It doesn't have spell-check, at least not as far as I know, so it was quite annoying when I found out I had about 6 spelling errors in my speech outline after I re-opened it on actual MS Word.
Doesn't have the ability to change margins, again at least not as far as I know, so it's not exactly the smartest app to use for typing a formal document. This also applies with being able to change the spacing size and what not.
There was a few other minor things that annoyed me, but I can't quite remember them.
Other than those flaws, the app works as intended and is useable. I hope they add some key features that's missing compared to the actual MS Word program.

Hey, just searched for the problem that I was having and I see that you have the same problem, the white text. I figured it out on my HP Touchpad running ICS. Its the Force Hardware Acceleration that is causing the problem. The instant you uncheck that option under developer settings the text shows up perfectly.

The Amazon Instant Video APK has been pulled from the Kindle Fire and can be installed on the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
A couple of caveats:
(1) To use the Prime Instant video features, you must first purchase something to login. There is no separate login otherwise.
(2) It appears to only work over wifi
(3) If your device is rooted, it will not work.

Never heard of temp unroot, thanks, but yeah, as of late, amazon released a fire update, ruining everyones root on the fire and deleting the market. Probably part of that updated.
Pr0tip: This works on Gingerbread but not on HoneyComb.

installs and runs great on hp touchpad. however on purchase and login i get the following: Error linking device: Unknown error
What do you mean it runs great? I get to the point of seeing the button to play the video, but it is grayed out. I can play Amazon videos fine on my Exhibit II by temporarily unrooting the stock OS. It seems Cyanogenmod is somehow detected, because it doesn't work on my Nook Color with the Cyanogenmod either.

I have the apk that allows me to play the videos for free that come with the amazon prime account (I signed up for a free month), but I don't see how to 'borrow' a book for free - this also comes with the prime account on kindle devices. Anyone have any information on how to do this on a Galaxy Tab?
Only Kindle devices can borrow books for free with the Prime membership. (you borrow directly from the device)
Two things. One KFHD looks for the device to be logged into amazon, I bet this requires framework not on our devices. Two, probably crashes when trying to view due to same.
Bottom line? Besides logcats to figure things out, I'm pretty sure a system dump will be needed to get the correct files to go with this......

You don't need to temp in root either. There's an xposed module called root cloak that let's you pick specific apps to hide root from. Works great
The battery in my phone (Epic 4g touch) died last night listening to Sirius while waiting at the dentist. Luckily I had my tp and mobile hotspot with me. I hopped on the market to grab the app and low and behold it was not there. What gives? Why are some apps available for certain devices and not others? Would copying the .apk from my phone to the /system/apps folder work? My tp is not rooted (yet) and up to date with all teh firmware.
Can't believe that app is not supported, really bullsh*t if you asked me. Give this app a try: https://market.android.com/details?...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImFpci5TaXJpdXNYTWZsYXNoIl0. It apparently opens the flash login page in your browser.
Ya wont work on the Transformer, you have to use the one that goes thru the internet browser, sucks for sure

Wow that app had a lot of bad reviews. It's really a shame the app isn't available. Why would this app be available for my galaxy s2 but not for this device? Aside from resolution would it really be coded differently?
SiriusXM 2.0 app

I just updated the siriusxm app and now it works. It says v 2.00 in the corner just like d2kplus said. My prime is rooted and running stock. I copied the app from my phone to my sd card since i could not find it in the market.
If you're running the latest ICS nightly (since 2012-02-02, I think) and use Evernote, you've probably noticed that it not longer displays the tablet UI.
For some reason, the Evernote app calculates width of the screen is 4.xxxx instead of the 7.xxxx required for displaying the tablet UI.
I've modified the APK to ignore the calculation so that the app displays the tablet UI.
I hope you like it.

UPDATE: Some people have asked me to look at the Kindle app too.
Looking into it, but it is a little more complex ...
If you already have Evernote, you'll need to uninstall it before trying to install this one.
Tip:
Copy this to /system/app to ensure you'll never lose it ...
That way if you update the app thru the market and lose the tablet UI you can uninstall updates

Hey, cool! I read about this in your posts on the user thread. How did you do this? I don't know enough to diagnose it, but I would be interested in digging through a couple different apps in this manner.
Do you have access to the block of code you changed or are you dis-assembling this to make this work? This is a common problem across a few google apps as well (chrome, docs, etc) Just wondering if you had any insight into the root problem.
Yeah, that's why I want to know as well. I saw people asking you to take a look at the Kindle app over in the development thread, and I figure instead of buying us dinner you could just teach us how to fish, you know?
Yeah I disassembled the apk.
Essentially, I searched the decompiled files for the word "tablet" ... When I thought I found what I was looking for, I compared it against the logcat.

Yeah unfortunately it's not fixed on the Nook Color or the Touchpad.
I'll upload a picture of the Kindle app and describe the differences of tablet mode and phone mode on the Nook. I am very interested in having my NC as well as my TP displaying the Kindle app correctly for landscape mode. Without the split screen with two pages displayed in landscape mode, it's a long traverse to read a line across the entire length if the tablet. Lol
If you still have time to look into this, I would be very grateful. No worries either way.
Thanks for the Evernote fix!

It is fixed in CM9 on the nook color. I have tested it. The margins and line spacing is much improved. You still cannot adjust them, but it is very readable. Make sure you have the very latest version.

Hi leapinar,
I am on the latest version and the Kindle app is not in tablet mode at 160 dpi. I do see the changes you mentioned. However just to be clear, when you hold your Nook in landscape orientation does the screen split and have two side by side pages like an open book?
Edit: I disassembled the apk, but it is not clear at all to me what is triggering the tablet view/install. I tried a few edits and reassembled the apk and nadda.. At this point I am just blindly throwing darts..
Guys,
Sorry about disappearing ... I was out of town for work for a couple of days and busy on a new work project.
I've looked at the new version of the Kindle app, and yes the margins are better, but having the ability to adjust them like the phone would be ideal.
I'm looking at the code to see if I can just swap out the tablet reader view with the phone view, giving us the phone menu options.
A little slow going ...

Would just like to second this - the app is actually semi-unusable without it being switched because there's no way to access 'menu' (no hard button on the NC and no softbutton shows up in the app).
The ebook app loads, finds my books, prepares the cover thumbnails, but crashes when I try to open a book.
Anyone with similar experience?
Any idea how to resolve the problem?
I am happy with the just arrived 4.1 firmware (WW) but I really liked MyLibrary, don't want to loose it.

Weird, mine works just fine. I guess maybe you should try doing a factory reset, or just use another app for reading books.
Before doing a factory reset (and losing all data unless backed up), try to do a cold boot. It wipes Cache and Dalvik cache, if I remember correctly. Shutdown the tablet and start it by holding Volume Down + Power for 10 or 15 seconds. You will get to a screen with two options (Wipe and Android, don't select any), just keep pressing until you see written in the upper left corner "Linux cold boot" in white letters. Then release the buttons and wait until the tablet boots.
Trimis de pe ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
I've done a cold boot, then a factory reset, but nothing helped.
OK, it's not a tragedy, I installed another app (Mantano Reader) that works well, but it's weird that this is the only app that doesn't function after JB update. Has anyone else the same experience?
I'm just guessing maybe the 804 epub file were too many for MyLibrary which I have in my SD card and the software tried to import all automatically. But Mantano did it without problem...

Thanks for the idea, I've tried it. Nice app but I did not find the way how to import the many books I have on my SD card. It seemed to me that I can read only those books with the app which I purchased. So the Nook app was useless for me. Uninstalled.

Try these Kobo, aldiko, moonreader. The thing with the nook app is that you need to import your ebooks to the app specific folder so it recognizes them, not sure if you can change folder location within the app's setting.

Yeah I recently had the same problem. All you have to do is move your books onto the SD card and into the Nook folders and then.. * my documents* paste all of your books into this folder. And bada boom ur good.

OK, I stayed for Kobo for the moment... Thanks again.
But in exchange of the money spent for this nice toy we should have a 100% working Transformer Pad after the OFFICIAL JB update.
I do hope the new, bug-free firmware will come very soon!

Use a file manager to copy your books from sd card to the folder my documents that is created in the Nook directory, then choose my files from within the program, files must be epub. You may have to have a B&N account, but Nook App is my main reader. I've tried Mantano reader also, it's a good reader.

I bought the tf300t 3 days ago. Jelly bean preinstalled and i updated the same day to the latest versian. Nice tablet, everything works well exept Mylibrary, it force closes within 30 seconds. I now use cool reader, wich i alsoused on my other tablet a P7510 Samsung.
The same happens since the 4.2.1 update.
It worked fine on ICS and the 4.1.1 OTA, now it doesn't work. It FC's after loading a book.

So it works fine when u install and run it first time. once u close out of the app and restart it goes back to saying "not supported". Why is this? is there anything we can do to make this work. I think it might be VERY inconvienent to constantly uninstalling/reinstalling everytime i have to open and close this app.
any suggestions ppl?
EDIT:: Ok i didnt read thoroughly the first post. that i have to clear the data everytime. i guess that will have to do then. not the most inconveient scenario. i just wish optimum didnt have to be such a **** about it. they obviously have some sort of kickback from Apple because they have supported apple devices including ipad for years before the Android version was released.
and considering the EARLIEST android version of optimum app works fine with my tablet, it is obvious they are holding us back on purpose.
