I love this thing, I really do but this flickering when either watching a movie or surfing the web is getting really annoying.
Is this what the DIDIM is supposed to do?
I really don't see any post talking about this issue. Am I the only one noticing it?

Perhaps you use poweramp? Got the same. Deinstalled poweramp, issue was gone.
To fix the screen glitch:
-root
-download setcpu
-set scaling to performance and then check set on boot.
Supposably this issue will be fixed by next ota according to Asus.

Why? I run sometimes in power save, but I noticed that also in normal mode or perf. mode.

Only 1 so far I have found that does not work is SPD Shell 3D. Says it has ICS support but no go on my prime. Already e-mailed the dev.
App support will require some ICS loving to be applied to the apps, and even though ICS is consistent throughout both phones and tablets they may still have to make tegra 3 and tablet customizations to their ICS variant. Since that was only released 8 hours ago give it a little time.
Has anyone had problems charging after update? Mine doesn't seem to charge ...

Tapatalk HD is broken.
ics problems
tablet locks when panning in maps, then reboots itself.
google earth just closes randomly (it seems), sending you back to home screen. I am using both with holux m-1200 bt gps and bluegps.

For me it takes a minute or two to get to HD res, but it gets there eventually.
And quadrant always force closes, but it did that on honeycomb as well

That is not, and has never been, a native feature of Android. It's only available in custom roms.
GPS button getting removed from the quick settings menu is a bork... IMHO

I believe that is an ICS problem with the way ICS reports screen res or something. It is a known issue with Swype and hopefully a beta will be available by the end of the month to address it..

Just wanted to inform everyone that a netflix update just went out. It improved the UI choppiness a little bit... but it's still pretty choppy in comparison to other tablets.
I'm not experiencing choppiness that's worse than my original Transformer or my wife's Galaxy Tab 10.1. In fact, Netflix on my Prime is far better than both...
Enabling the "Force GPU rendering" option under developer options helps a lot regarding the Netflix UI.
Oh thank God. My netflix app is damn near unusable due to the choppyness.

I have never has smooth Netflix browsing, regardless of the Android device I was using the app on. Basically the Netflix app just sucks. At least playback is (relatively) smooth. The Xbox 360 app also sucks (for different reasons). I believe Netflix just doesn't know how to make a decent app.

Wow, that completely fixed it! After turning that on there's absolutely no choppiness/lag in the netflix UI.

I think theres always gonna be choppiness and lag even with force gpu on Netflix. It may help a lot but it will never be smooth like when your browsing or swiping through home screens.
Update still leaves my ui really choppy and laggy, but force gpu rendering did help alot. Are there any cons with leaving that setting applied?

The only con I encountered was it broke the game Meltdown from Mars. I just get a black acreen. So if I wanna play it I have to uncheck gpu rendering. Not a big deal. That's all so far for me.

My Tab won't stay asleep. It randomly wakes up for a few seconds (5-10) then goes back to sleep. I can't seem to pin down a rhyme or reason as it doesn't always happen, but it does happen often. My main concern is battery drain. I'm running Task 14 with a boosted theme and stock kernel. I've reflashed the Rom but the issue still exists. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can try?

I am not sure in this case, but I guess it could be an app you have installed. You should monitor with task manager which tasks are running and switch them off temporary to find out which app cause the problem.

Download better battery stats to see if you have a rogue app draining your battery. And dl cpu spy to see if or when your tab deep sleeps

I put both cpu spy and b.b.s. along with watchdog on, and can't seem to spot anything weird. Nothing is hogging a lot of juice, and it has plenty of deep sleep time. When it does a random wake up and I use the TouchWiz task manager it shows no active apps and Watchdog only shows minor things in the background, I'm not familiar with b.b.s. or cpu spy, is there something I should be looking for I am missing? Thanks for trying to help me figure this out.

You can also send a log of your bbs stats to the bbs thread and let them see if they can see anything

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I use b00sted's ICS theme. I noticed the other person in this thread with the same problem is also using one of his themes which points in that direction except that I believe they are pretty widely used and tested themes. However I will probably remove it when I get around to reflashing the ROM as I think that's the only way to remove it to see if that solves the issue.
In case anyone was wondering, I think I got the problem figured out. I use the honeybar app to bide my task bar. When I disable it, I no longer see the problem. (it's been a couple of days and I haven't caught it lighting up yet.)

same problem here, but i dont have honeybar app. im using AOKP - build 38
Am I the only one that is sometimes seeing major lag when an app closes and the launcher redraws? In by case it is sometimes over a second.
Well known issue that has been mentioned already in numerous threads. I use SS launcher so don't have that problem.

the stock launcher will not lag on its own, check for background cpu utilization with os monitor app and disable those apps .

If you read carefully enough, Dr. Paul, you'll find that you are on ALF2!
Is LF2 only through Kies? I got the OTA update to LF1, and that's all the OTA updater says is available. Or it's just VodaGroan being rubbish as usual.

Been looking in the forum and found this issue under another heading. I fixed it by rooting and changing the davlik VM heap size from 256 to 128mb. How did Samsung manage to screw this up?

Another thing to consider is whether you've got power saving on or off? If it's on and CPU power saving is turned on, the CPU runs at 800mhz rather than 1400mhz. This will show a noticeable difference in smoothness.

i just wanna share how i got rid of the lag and home respawn issue on my sgs3... i'm not saying it is a fix but these are the only things i did that work for me... there is no harm in trying...
1. disable double tap home button to activate s voice.
2. disable s voice using application manager
3. reboot... and after 3 days, no lag or whatsoever... but there was always the home respawn thing when i'm running a lot of apps on background...
4. uninstall facebook app... this app seems to eat most of the memory... reboot... now, i don't need to close any program running thru task manager... i check it and see 12 apps running but never had a respawn.. all is well now... i don't even think of rooting flashing a rom now... everything just seems to be running so well...
**i know some of you would say that it's not an option to uninstall FB app, i for myself would love to use it but i'd rather have a lag and respawn free sgs3 and use the FB desktop mode... but then again...that's just me...

did you installed other launcher? cause i have the same problem with Nova, Apex e Adw launcher. I tried Chameleon launcher and all is fine.
i think that your problem is the same of me.
Its a problem that all Xperia Tablets have... Browser, Launcher, etc. dont change anything at all. From what ive heard its an ICS bug and our tablet suffers a lot.. Hopefully it will get fixed with jelly bean :cyclops:

Yeah, it happens to me too. First, I thought it was BS Player issue or something since it was only happening when watching videos. But then, I noticed it also happens when I reduce the bright of the screen using Screen Filter. I really hope it gets fixed on JB update because it's the only thing that really annoys me on the tablet. Apart from that and fortunately, I've nothing else to complain about, unlike many others.
i have this if i run live background verry anoying parts off the calendar and social life widget and other widgets glitch thru the screen.
i don't known if you experiencing similar flickering.

Totally do man even glitches through apps while viewing them. could vsync be off? its what syncs the refresh rate of the screen and the gpu
