Replacement Atrix - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my Atrix replaced today because of the wifi error issue and I can't figure out how to unlock and root the phone now. On my previous Atrix I was running CM7.
It's running Android 2.3.4 and I keep reading that you can't use RSDlite (which I tried) to do the traditional fastboot unlock. How do I unlock the bootloader and root it now?

International House of Pudding?

Post in Q&A next time, you will get hammered for posting in wrong section and possibly infraction if you do it to many times, I believe..

Did you try flashing the unlock sbf first with RSD Lite?
It's painful how unhelpful people are around here.
Did you already update to 2.3.4 over the Motorola servers? I thought I remember people saying that you're unable to unlock the bootloader on the final release build of GB :<

if that does not work you should try looking at

Ummm I believe that I have provided helpful and informative information. Why recreate someone else guide's when it works and is already posted?

You can still unlock, you will just have a soft brick that will fix when you issue the unlock commands. You just have to make sure that you use the fruitcakes through CWM if you need to go to an earlier build or else you will hard brick.
Here, since you're in such a rush, take a look at this:

Quick help

Just got a x2 quick question.. I bought it on ebay so im going to sbf it back to 2.3.4; then can i just upgrade to 2.3.5 then root that and then install eclipse? or does that order sound wrong. can i just sbf to 2.3.5 and root that or does it have to be the 2.3.4? I think i read somewhere i need to go to 2.3.4 for some kernel files that aren't on 2.3.5. any help is appreciated and I am sure this has been answered I just don't want to scroll 500+ pages.

Wrong section for the post, but yes, you will have to upgrade to 2.3.5 from 2.3.4. You most likely won't have to SBF, as you will probably get the phone running 2.3.4, but it is a good habit to get into so that ROM installs go more smoothly and bugs are easier to detect.
Follow the thread posted above and you're good to go.
Also, that search thread box is there for a reason . It's pretty helpful (you don't have to scroll 500+ pages!).
Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not development forums.
Thread moved.
The Eclipse site will tell you what order you need to do it in. You can't root 2.3.5, have to root 2.3.4 do a voodoo and then upg and restore the backup.

Good work having a real go at it yourself, but honestly, make life easy for yourself & use the guide in the thread stickied near the top of Q&A. You'll have it done in minutes.

that's my problem, that thread dosnt tell me which one i need, or where to get it. i've looked at dozens of guides and cant find one that help me. the only thing that i seem to have a problem with is which one i should use, because i cant find the XWKF4 one.
Because you're running ancient GB firmware, update your firmware to ICS or JB first, then root. Instructions/links in that same thread.

that tool said that i dont have permission, which means its not rooted? why do i need a rooted device to root it? or im missing something? i did every step on that too...
edit: i had old version. but cant find new one (4.0.3) for SGS2, only xperia
I cant remember if Spockys tool needs to be used with rooted ICS or higher.
But if your planning on doing other things with your phone, youd be better starting off where Mistahbungle said(ICS).
Then you just root that and unlock. You read about using pc odin and get the ICS rom from sammobile. Then just flash a rooted siyah kernel,or something similar.

Need help installing bootloader with 4.4.2 OTA

I know this is a noob question, but I have spent last several days trying to figure out how to unlock bootloader, and i am exhausted. Please help
I know that i have to unlock the bootloader first, recovery, nandroid, to ADB.. to ROM. I just cant seem to get off the ground.
I have read the forums to unlock the bootloader, but it has not been working. I think it's the fact that this has the OTA that make those forum threads obsolete.
I would greatly appreciate to those that can lead to me the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
