For some reason all the pictures in my gallery have multiple copies. I really don't remember how it happened but I remember someone had this same problem with their gallery a couple months ago and fixed it but I don't remember what to actually search to fix it. Does anyone know what to do to get rid if the multiple copies?

You can use sgs tools and apply the clear_thumbs_db.txt script... That works for most people.

Yep, it should. Mine does this too, usually after I flash a new ROM or Kernel???? That script clears it up everytime. FYI - It does reboot your phone right after running it though; freaked me out the first time
I was updated to the new market yesterday and today saw that Titanium had an update. Clicking on it opens screen that only allows for the app to be opened or uninstalled. I don't see any option to update.
How do we update with the new market?
Thanks,
SF

I had the same problem when my market auto upgraded. I think what happens is that the market account gets screwed up and it doesn't allow you to update some things. Its fixable - you have to reregister your phone with the market. The bad news is the only way I could figure to do this was to clean wipe and start over. I suppose you could factory reset to. I bet there's an easier route - but I haven't found it.

Just found an easier way : I moved vending app from /data/app to sd, pushed it back, changed permissions and rebooted and everything is fine. Thanks for taking time to answer

I am going to try this in ES File Explorer, I have run into this same issue. How exactly did you set the permissions?

In es explorer, long press on the file and select properties. They'll be a button there to change permissions

I bet this issue could be corrected by us using the new market apk in the ROMs. We will soon find out
So, cs, new market built in to v18 then?

Sorry, I phrased that incorrectly. I know how to get in there & change the permissions. What I was wondering is how they need to be set. Is it RW-R--R--? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just don't have to do this very often & want to make sure I do it correctly.

Not a dumb question at all...yes, system files should be rw-r--r--.

This worked for me! Thanks guys for the clarification on setting permissions.
I thought I had this issue fixed, but it has resurfaced. I have the market telling me there is now an update for Handcent SMS, however it doesn't give me the option to update! I can only open or uninstall.
I tried the fix starflorida posted multiple times, but it just isn't doing the trick. Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Any suggestions or feedback?
There is a new version of the market rolling out today. Try clearing data and restarting market and see if that helps?

I was hoping to avoid that, just so i don't have to re-enter all of my info. But, if I can't get it straightened out, I'll give that a go.
I now have 2 apps sitting there waiting for an update that I can't complete: Handcent & Unlock with Wifi. If I click the app individually, I only get the choices of opening or uninstalling. However, if I click the button that says "Update 2", it looks like it will work! I don't get it.
Edit: I am currently getting the "Low on Space" message from my phone (I prefer not to put my apps on the SD card, if possible). Could this be the reason why I can't update my apps?
Clearing the market data seems to have worked as a temporary fix. It is no longer showing that I need to update any of my apps. However, I did not receive the latest market version. It is still the same version I had prior to clearing data, version 3.0.27
It will, when you least expect it! You can download an apk from Android central if you don't want to wait...

Seems like today my copy and paste completely stopped working. Every time I tried copying from a browser or Reddit is fun, the app crashes. When I copy from txt, I can't paste it just says clipboard, but paste nothing. No idea what caused this, anyone have this problem before? Had my other note since release and it never did this a week with this one and just had it happen now.

Yes but this is a last resort. I am going on vacation tomorrow and really dont want to have to reinstall and set up everything before then. Was hoping for a alternative
I've used this app for a long time without a problem. Tonight I installed it as a system app from within the app and rebooted. Now when I open the app, I get the message I've attached in the screen shot. The heck!
I did XDA and Google searches for "Better Battery Stats Companion" but I can't find anyone even talking about this. It says it's a companion app, so where did the real app go? I know it's something stupid and simple, but I'm stumped.
Anyone know? TIA

I think I had that the first time I installed it. I might have had to install BBS again when it did that, but it's installed as a system app for me now. Did it have a recovery zip message show up when you installed it as system.

No zip file created. I might uninstall and reinstall if no one comes up with something else soon. Strange thing and even stranger that I can't find it mentioned on the developer's site or anywhere on the net.

I found the apk for it in system/priv-app directory. Does it show up in there for you?
Sent from my LGLS990 using XDA Free mobile app
I didn't see the apk in my system/app folder, but this went well in a weird way. I clicked the uninstall button that my screenshot shows. It said it failed to uninstall, but when I re-opened the app, it worked the way it should. It's working perfectly now.
I'm not gonna argue with my phone. It works, and I'm good with that. Thanks for responding when I reached out for help!

That's what I was thinking, but it takes like 20 minutes sitting at "android is optimizing" for me after clearing cache lol so I don't tend to clear the cache very often. :-/
