Does anyone know where I can get the Vibrant device driver binaries? I'm trying to learn how to compile Android from source.
I decided to try to compile Gingerbread for Vibrant since CM7 is already very robust. I tried to use the GM7 binaries, but maybe I'm not doing it right. I got it all downloaded, but when I use the "lunch" program, I get an error saying it can't find VibrantMTD or something along that line.
Some help from someone with more experience, please? I'm but a student.
*bump* Anyone?
I've looked at CM7, Teamhacksung, and Onecosmics github/google codes and haven't found them. Odd, because they already have ROMs working for the Vibrant, so I thought they would have the drivers up, too.
Maybe I should try compiling CM7 from source... perhaps the drivers are already integrated with the ROM.

I am going to build FroYo from Google's AOSP trunk, without any modification. I've read that CM6 proprietary binaries won't work well, so I grabbed them from HTC Developer, with the OTA image, to use unzip-files.sh.
Then, after unzipping, I only want to get a working AOSP, without any extended feature, like new kernel, or something.
Q1. Do I need to modify anything else?
Q2. Is it possible to create an update.zip with the AOSP building tools? I don't want to build CM6, but a totally AOSP-FroYo FroYo
I've read that the Sapphire needs some tweaking to get AOSP FroYo up and running, maybe the G1 needs some too?
Hi, I'm OptimusOne user in Korea.
I'd like to use CM7 but unfortunately there's some differences between P500 and Korean versions(LU3700, KU3700, SU370) so I have to port CM7. but I don't know what sources to download.
Could you tell me what to do?
There's one more thing to ask.
Although there's some differences, I heard that they have same devices. What files do you think I should modify?
Why not try out mik's or andy's builds (dev section) .... if you find it unstable, then use their sources to build your own....will save A LOT of time and effort ...
yeah, I'm trying to mik's one. sorry for insufficient question
I'm just a noob and looking some information, but I can't find how or what to download...
Has anyone ported cm7 to this device yet? and if so where can i find it?, and if no, is there anyone working on it?
As far as I know, no one has built CM7 successfully for this device. There is a post in the dev section entitled "ICS Port" where a user has been trying to build either CM7 or CM9 but has had limited success. As far as I know he has not been able to get his build to boot.
Has anyone been daring enough to try it with CM9/AOKP?
I know he specifies that it is working with certain ported I9100 roms, and that AT&T leaks aren't supported... According to the thread he's writing up something about it later... I'm just curious before I go messing things up. - even with a Nandroid. I'm impatient!! lol
Here is the original thread in the DEV section...

If anyone has tried it (SetCPU included, maybe even overclock)? Please give me some insight... Maybe even an "about phone" screenshot with Kernel version info, blah blah... Thanks!
P.S. Do we still need to have Kernels matching modems? I don't need a brick.
No - use CM9 or Fenny's kernels for those. He says it in quite a few places, but I am unable to look it up right now.
Can someone please link me to the thread regarding Fenny's Kernel?
Search isn't helping at all.
NVM - Got it.

What's the point of using it on CM9? It has NOTHING the CM9 kernel doesn't have. NOTHING.
OK, maybe it has one fix that hasn't gotten through gerrit yet, but going forward, don't expect there to be much difference between my kernels and the CM9 kernels given that I have push access to teamhacksung's kernel repo.
First thing first, Yes I am a noob. I am trying to learn how to build custom roms. I already created a working rom based off of the UCPLC5 leak. I pretty much just deleted apk files and zipaligned the rom. I am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me figure out where to find fix'x and mods such as accurate battery mod or 5ghz wifi fix. Is there a website that I need to look into? I have tried searching google to no avail. I also tried the search here but I am unable to get any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
you're on pretty much the only resource you need.....learn how to search, thats all i can say, because there is no 'directory of mods/fixes'.....

Task did 90% of the work, you just tweaked that base.
Learn to grab the untouched firmware and extract, deodex it then start working from that.
If you are working on a i9100 base, it would be best to check there forum section.
Deodexing and a number of the basic porting fixes are covered in my guide in the Development section.
5 GHz wifi fix doesn't apply to AT&T bases unless AT&T ****ed up on an epic scale, it's only for ported European firmwares. That's covered in the guide too.

More than that....more like 99.5. I wouldn't even call it tweaking yet.
