I have a rooted Neo V with 4.0.2.A.0.42 and i tried to update it to 0.62 over wifi. After all the procedures, it restarted and then i got this message saying "4.0.2.A.0.62 Could not install"... The thing is that i 'm root user with the 0.42 and i don't want to update to 0.62 yet, unless i can root it.
Is there any chance, to clear the notification bar from this annoying message? It 's stuck there and i can figure out how i 'll clear it...

You're gonna have to be more specific. How do you even know that the rooting is the problem?
Tell us how you tried to update, what kind of error message you got etc.
First i flash my phone to 0.42 to root, and it went successfully. After that, i try to update to 0.62. when the update process finished then my phone reboot ...and the notification message said that *update could not install try update software again*

Just seen Reck1993 post, yesterday I too rooted my Neo (MT15i) following the instructions from the tutorial and I too with .62 do not have ota update available.
Though I'm not too bothered as I realize there will be no more up dates to GB from Sony and it will probably months before ics comes to the uk for for the neo and reading some of the comments in this forum with the .562 nordic it's probably not worth it.
Oh this problem is there because you deleted some system apps.
Flash back to .42 again, and then root, now do OTA update to .62
for me thanks, but as I said I'm not too bothered, there'll be no GB updates from sony, and ICS is wishful thinking, I'll stick with it as it is.
hey guys , i am in Syria , and i wanted to update to ICS via PC Companion , but every time they tell me there is no Internet Connection , how to make it working with some proxy programs like (Tor , Hotspotshiled....)

I think, you have only one choice! use Flash tool !

and i'm already updatm my phone to ICS Official Yesterday
but you can't update via air ( Via phone )
you must connect to PC via sony PC Companion
and you will find updates
if you need the way to update just tell me

HI, I wanted to root an Xperia Nei mt15i, i found an article with a step by step guide ,which said downgrade the firmware to 2.3.2 then gingerbreak etc etc, and well now the phone says that the battery is empty, and i cant install a custom firmware becouse i cant unlock the bootloader, so i cant get in fastboot mode, anyone can help please?
To root you dont need unlocked bootloader.

Thanks, and will this fix the battery issue?? Ive downloaded the 4.0.2.A.0.42 firmware from the site you wrote, but in flashtool it seems "empty" no firmware content, and nothing in the other columns...:S
Where did you read that you need to downgrade to 2.3.2??
Now you killed your battery gauge and it's unrecoverable hardware failure. Only permanent fix is replace in service shop.

If your phone is under warranty, you can try giving it for repair under warranty.

Have you tried to set your router to g/b instead of g/b/n standard? You could try that
Or update your phone to .62 or .69 or flash another baseband (but I'm not sure if the baseband affects wifi)...

wtf?? i diónt think thats truth ?!?! just download sony update software (pc companion i guess) for pc & update it to ICS. i dont think o2 is in the position to decide zhis. even theres no law for this. also googeling doesent show anything about this. i guess its some kind of rumor......
if that not works (it doesent showed me an update for the 1st time as i bought my arc new) you can flash ICS throug flashtool :
