[Q] Screen polish - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Is it possible to polish scratches off of the screen? My phone has gotten some markings around the sensor area and scratches that distort the color coming from the screen. From the looks of it, it's a cover for the actual screen? Can I polish it somehow?
Thanks

I have the same question.
Has someone tried polishing out scratches on screen?
My X10 mini has some nasty scratches all over screen. As per my observation the digitizer is underneath the plastic glass and glass should be OK to polish.
I will buff the screen this weekend to try out and see if it will work.

i had the same prob and i tried a special cream for scratches (for cds) but i think nothing happens...so try screen protector instead

Removing scratches from screen.

Is there any way of polishing the digitizer screen that will remove marks from constant wear, ie: somebody had this xda and used it for games without using a screen protecter. Has anybody managed to polish marks out?
There is an "old trick" that might work. Use a "little"bit of baby oil and a jewellry polish cloth and you may be able to remove some superficial scratches.
I have used super glue for the deeper ones, but would not recommend that method. ( If you use it keep some acetone based nail polish remover close by!)
Best thing to do is to get a screen protector.
I know the screen is already damaged, but its amazing what a screen protector can do even once its damaged! 8)
I bought an XDA recently with a scratched screen and was told that a protector would sort it out. Wasn't sure at first but it does.
I have "brando" screen protector if that helps, supposed to be better than all the cheaper ones.
thanks
use displex then get a screen protector on that thing lol

Camera lens glass peeling off!?

My Ray is 4-5 months old, and 1-2 months ago I noticed that glass on the camera is more and more peeling off...I have silicon case since day one, so it is not from scratches...maybe from removing smudges and dust here and there before thaking photo...I use my T-shirt on me (cotton, soft) and dont press hard...
It seems that this peel off and scratches doesnt affect photo quality as I dont see artefacts on photos - but, when whatching lens (glass) it can bee clearly seen as there is damaged somekind of protective film...
Does someone have same problems? Does this influence photo quality? It could bend light in different way...
Do you mean the protective piece of plastic on the center case covering the lens ?
Yeah, same prob here. The lens coating...but i think that's just protector against uv radiation from sunlight. Not sure though....

Re: Tearing My Hair out Plz Help
Yeah picture quality has started to suck because of that need finda way to overcome it
I think it is some kind of filter because it is visible when tilting phone.
I dont know could i send it on repair? Is it covered with warranty?
Way to overcome this could be screen protector! Liquid fills that 'scratches' so light is bend same way..atleast that works with scratched screen!
Would lens screen protector ruin photos? Is someone using it?
Second way to overcome is peel that coating completly..only how? With what?

we are talking abt this part r8?
Yes. What else? That glass over a lens.
I must find another camera to take photo of that 'scratches'!
Well i was having the same blue looking coating on my MINI's camera glass but after 2-3 months it started peeling off so i totally removed it and i dont find decrease in picture quality also i dont think its a scratch protector as that thing itself get peeled off than how come it will protect you camera glass?
How did you remove it?
I saw that people say about Displex - that is scratch removal paste (not for touch screens). I will try it - must go find it to buy. I used it years ago for my phone screen...it was great...It polish edges of big scratches and litle scratches so scratches are not visible any more - even big ones. It polis rough edges so light dont get bend differently and everything is ok. So I belive displex could remove that coating and polish that glass over lens!
Alternative would be to change that glass with plastic or something like that (maybe another phones glass)... But for now, I think that displex would be best thing to try. It is 5-10$ and can last long...
Is it safe to remove it and use ?

Try tooth paste! Polish, and leave 5min. Try few times!

Replaced Glass -- Screen washed out

Hi,
I cracked the glass on my Galaxy SIII and managed to successfully replace it using a hot air gun.
My issue is, with the new glass (now with an air gap between it and the screen) the colours on the screen are very washed out. The contrast is crappy and the blacks look gray.
I suppose there is little I can do now, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience? I am almost wondering if there was a plastic protective coating on the replacement glass I forgot to remove, although I'd be hard pressed to check now!
Cheers

OnePlus 5 Screen Protector "malfunction"

I just installed a screen protector (tempered glass) that i bought on ebay a few weeks ago because the plastic screen protector that came with my OnePlus started coming off so I put the glass one instead. After installing the SP I couldn't remove an air bubble all around the side of the SP(*first picture). On the second picture you can see that the bubble is a bit visible on both sides of the screen(when on), I was trying to show that the whole screen looks "dirty", just as if you just ate chips and touched the screen (i guess you know what that looks like) but my old Nexus 5X is bad af so it couldn't capture it. Do you guys think that this will eventually disappear or the bubble will just stay like that forever and should just get a new and better SP (recommendations btw)?
Looks to me like its struggling to adhere where the screen starts to curve. You will have to replace.
I don't think any of the manufacturers got the screen protector right, even OnePlus themselves had to discontinue their tgsp because it was getting shredded in the reviews. Out of the ones that I tried the best of a bad bunch was Orzly. Just had some dust issues but at least it can flex to the curve of screen.
Easy but efficient tip:
Wet a cotton but with olive oil, not much. Then with the cotton bud, rub it gently against the corners of the Screen protector, it will be filled with oil, give it some seconds and don't press that area, do it for the whole thing and profit. I your screen protector isn't too big it should last for a while before you have to do it again. Hope this is OK English.

S9+ scratch on screen ! Buy tempered glass ?

So i bought a new S9 plus device a couple of days ago and a little bit earlier I noticed one 1 mm scratch on my display. It is hairline thin and it creates a "nice" rainbow effect when on a white background and when watching at it at a 80-100 degree angle. I hope you know what I mean. It is really really small and thin and cant really be seen on a black screen, only when directly at the sun at a weird angle. My question is: Can a tempered glass protector hide the scratch and remove the rainbow effect ? How can I get over this stupid scratch even though i babysitted this phone like hell. Can that scratch be hidden in any way.
you cannot remove the scratch unfortunately, you can only replace the screen or try to hide it by installing the whitestone dome screen protector, which is applied using LOCA glue
that tends to hide small scratches on the screen
