Howdy all..
I have a couple of questions about battery usage relating to screen power consumption.
First some background on the.phone
Aussie i9100t
Cm7.1 with its base kernel (wolverine)
Stock radio kf2
Now, if j sit down and read tapatalk or Facebook for 15 minutes ill burn 5% battery (even with the new Samsung 2000mah battery I just bought)
I have the brightness set to manual and as low as it will go, it actually seems way too. Right for minimum settings to be honest.
Just wondering if anyone has some suggestions on where too look for issues
Edit, just a note, I've had 2x i9100's prior to this model and I'm pretty positive they weren't this bad
Cheers
Kyle
Try a different radio, if your browsing on 3g....if on wifi try a different kernel like siyah
Thanks for the reply.
I gave siyah a go yesterday for 12 hours but found a similar result with the stock battery.
Dunno hey, just find it quite strange that the last 2 sgs2s I've had were not like this..
Couple of screenshots..

Thanks for that mate, do you find lag when scrolling with siyah? I got it a bit, maybe selected the wrong governor or something ...

First full day using this rom and I'm impressed worked smooth had a few hiccups like airplane mode not working right at first.
But what I'm here to ask is will a "wipe battery stats" work I have no clue as it why I was awake when the screen was off . But my concern is the 30-40% drop in battery life
Any ideas?? thanks in advance

Wiping battery stats won't help you, there's a wakelock issue going on there. I would recommend installing BetterBatteryStats ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 ) and checking into what is keeping your phone awake, be it a system app or user-installed.

Try to see which applications are running and what is more consumundo battery.
And also recommend that you calibrate. Me, whenever I do this procedure, I have a good improvement in autonomy.
Does this happen across different ROMs? You might have a bad battery.

Use Better Battery Stats and Watchdog Lite to see whats happening. In watchdog lite u can set the cpu percentage max to be 20% so that anything going beyond that can be reported. Usually works for me.

I think it might have been the state my battery was in when I flashed the first time because it hasn't done it yet and I was rom surfing last night nothing out of the ordinary happened I'll report back after work tomorrow that should be a good enough time to test it out

So, I'm using the newest stable release of CM9 with Siyah kernel and my battery life is terrible. Not even using the phone for an hour, eight hours of standby, and it's already down to 30%. Any solutions?

Most battery drain issues are user related, check your apps with Better Battery Stats and install cpu spy for sleep time of the cpu. Might be some rogue stampeding apps/widgets on your phone
As you can see on attachments, my battery stats are equal... my awake time is very high, and i have better battery stats installed, it says my cpu time are 90% into 200mhz mode, but as you can see 15% with 13h of usage... but doesn't show any application draining my battery...
Anyone know how to trace this correctly?
Battery probs
Hi mate! Its mi first post i hope they will be no errors!.
I had the same prob as u and i did this:
1-Install ---> Battery Calibrator ( root need ) from googleplaystore.
2-Charge it to 100% REBOOT YOUR PHONE (program dont say a thing about this
3- Press button , all your battery stats will be correct now
4- If u continue having this probs you have to Re-boot your ROM and do all this steps with 3 wipes

You are using siyah?
Make your cpu 1200-200 or 1000-200
Overvoltage 50
And you will see the difference.

I found that Friendcaster for Facebook was giving me wakelocks. BetterBatteryStats is a must-have.
Hi everyone. I've seen couple friends of mine saying that their S3 last like 2 days. I can't even see the night with mine. I used the screen only an hour but it's already %37. I guess there's something wrong. Can you check it out and tell me if it's normal?

What do you suggest me to do? I bought this from USA but now I'm in Turkey so I don't have warranty here. Do you think if I buy a new battery it's gonna fix?
Get yourself a Battery Mix from playstore, observe the graph and try to find out which application is using the cpu, I mean, see which one is constantly using the cpu even though you didn't use it.
(eg: on my phone google chrome and line are the main culprit)

That´s not normal, i am on Jelly Bean stock rom and rigth now i have 32% left with 1d and 9h43m, with normal use, phone calls, sms, wi-fi on.
I bought the Samsung Extra Battery Kit a while ago. At first I thought it was just placebo, but now I am pretty sure that the newer battery has a 1/3 better battery life than the one the S3 came with.
So I think not all batterys are created equal or degenerate after a few months too quickly.

I have an extremely strange problem with the battery of my s3. When I'm at home, where my signal is extremely poor I last roughly a day wasting 40/50% so that's after 15 hours of discharge. When I'm at work I.e walking taking the train etc, just generally at work my battery goes down 70%!!!!! In 5 hours with minimal use. Eg. Screen on for 20 minutes. Voice calls 10minutes. I can sometimes Ferrell that the s3 Is warm surely it can't be because of the fact it's in my pocket causing the s3 bather to start warming up. I have tried using better battery stats but it gives no reference set yet. Can someone please assist in how to check what the culprit maybe? GPS is off Google now is off. WiFi is off power saving is on. All apps have been closed. Is identical to what I have at home.
Run better battery stats look for wakelocks.
