Ok guys am wrong here or in ICS there are less sharper fonts. Before update I was very satisfied with the prime screen and its resolution. On ICS I think fonts are less sharper.
Am I wrong?
ICS uses the new Roboto font rather than DroidSans (I believe that's what it used to be). Funny, but I agree fonts looked a little nicer before the update. Shouldn't be difficult to change after rooting though.

I tend to find text MUCH nicer on ICS.

Anyone tried ICS for xperia mini yet?? Please give feedback about the rom used. I would like to see which ICS for XM I wanna use thanks!
anyone? :highfive:
I can say only about official ICS.
I was excited about update and the wait was painful, but when was released, I reverted back to old official rooted firmware with Launcher Pro and alot of stock aps removed.
I don't like the new ICS. The interface is realy ugly in my opinion. It looks like an alpha build without a proper theme. The text is fuzzy, but there is a font size feature. The small is useless, the medium looks more fuzzy than in GB and large is way to large.
What can you do in ICS and can't do in GB ? The only cool feature I found is the integrated advanced data traffic monitor, and larger file size on photos. (but the camera apk was redesigned with bad interface) In GB I installed a modded camera apk with better quality compression for photos and videos, and the default data monitor is enough for me (update v6)
They say the ICS require better hardware. I don't know how it works with games, because I am not interested, but from other Xperia phones I heard that performance is worse.
For me, ICS brings nothing great for my Mini. Maybe is better for other phones but for Mini the long awaited ICS looks like its ported in a rush in few days. Maybe Android 5 will worth the update.

hey thanks for the feedback. arh.. im getting so confused now. UI is nothing big for me as I use go launcher.. Main thing for me is performance. Some say its better some its worse and some the same .. Lets see any custom ICS will be better
I found MiniCMSandwich Lite AOSP from kamarush pretty descent and fast.

Actually there will be Android 4.1, and there might be even a chance to get updates for it.

How I can Get the Modded Camera.apk ?
Hello!
I've tried some of the Jelly Bean ROMs for the Prime, and I'm very satisfied. However, I think the fonts look really poor on the JB ROMs compared to ICS ROMs. On JB the font is very thin and with so little hinting it almost... well, cracks up if you understand. On ICS the fonts look much better and cleaner, and somewhat thicker.
This problems occurs with both stock and custom fonts.
Anyone else who experiences the same thing? If so, any solutions?
yes i have this too. i tought it was just me. but appearantly im not the only one
it looks like windows on lcd withouth cleartype fonts enabled..

I saw it before on craigacgomez builds of JB, but it wasn't to annoying.
now I'm running the CM10 EOS and my Prime screens look like this:
Is dithering turned on by default?
Hello everyone
I was almost sure that a thread like this would exist already, but after doing some searches, i did not find any.
Regarding the visual elements (not the transitions, those are fine) of the newly released official Jellybean ROM for the Xperia P, is there anyone else around here who thinks that the ICS graphics (for apps like settings, messaging, browser) looked MUCH better than the ones they used for the new update? I mean, ICS had beautiful transparent borders, JB has embossed matte grey borders. A lot of icons look like they were drawn in a hurry and poorly rendered (check the toggle switches, the I and O's are not even properly centered as they were in ICS), and that quick toggle widget ! It looks absolutely terrible. In ICS it was a big transparent block with simple buttons on it. Now it looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old who found out that photoshop can apply effects to layers.
In the last 2 years or such, UI designers have started simplifying the graphics, making them look very nice. That was the case with ICS on the xperia P, it looked gorgeous. This thing looks like crap. It looks like a 3rd party theme you would download in 2004 on your sony ericsson K310i.
"But there is more than one theme that comes with the new ROM!". Yes, but they all have the same flaws. After all, only the color scheme differs. The graphical elements are the same.
Does anyone share my opinion?
If yes, then the more important question is : Since the themes that come preinstalled can be found in the Apps section (4.0KB being the minimum storage space one file can occupy, i am not sure if they contain anything at all in that "application"), is there any possibility that devs here could port the old themes to this ROM? This might be a stupid question, in which case, you are free to reply with the noob-on-xda youtube video.
Yeah !!
another one complain, tthat all is your Opinion be happy that Sony give us JB
all look waaaaay better now then ICS, but think that Sony is not Unicef they have also ther work todo.
P.s. here you go xD
k..sense 6 themes really suck. I hate to say it but keeping it REAL.
Sense <5.5 had a really DEEP black background that was like digital octopus ink.. I LOVED it.
What do we do about these crappy themes? I want my TMO ONE to look like it used to..
Custom Photo wallpaper does absolutely nothing for theme color modification.
and on a side note..the scrolling touch response is now borderline sketchy...enough already with the super hyper screen sensitivity.
radio performance thus far has been excellent.... A+:good:
Odd to be replying to my own post but as a follow up after installing the elemental x kernel the scrolling smoothness is now perfect like before the update..the improvements are perfect now..

HTC sense 6 themes wallpapers truly sucks. I specificity goggled: ,,HTC sense 6 themes wallpapers sucks ,,........
Green and deep purple! What a fukkk...I tried really hard to play around but my phone UI looks much uglier now then before. I can't believe HTC did it.....
did you try swapping to the black theme? makes all highlighted app colors black.
also, if you have root, you can install Sense 6 toolbox (from Xposed framework) and customize each app color.

I have to admit the themes for HTC sense 6 are horrible!!!!!, WTF htc?? and no way to customize unless I possibly root my phone, which scars me, I afraid something will screw up making my phone unusable. Htc should have put an easy way for users to customize the colors!!!! Even Microsoft gives the users the ability to customize windows!!! I should not have to root my phone to get a better color theme!!!! I love HTC but this is one thing that really frustrates me. Not everyone likes the same colors, giving only 4 choices is ridiculous, event the dark theme is not truly dark it uses and ugly green in some places(like the setting screen). COME ON htc give the use some native control over the UI!!!
Hi,
First I would like to thank the developpers of this ROM as it really gave my tf201 a new life. Working really great so far. My only problem would be the font rendering, all fonts look really blurry. I have used iFonts to change the default font and it is now a lot better but still fonts are not crystal clear. I have searched the forum for quite some time but haven't found anything on the matter. Has someone experienced the problem as well ? Is there a workaround ?
Thank you
It's not possible to make it crystal clear because prime's resolution is 1280*800 on 10.1 inch screen.
Nowadays phones have 1920*1080 on 5 inch screens and it's equal to 441 ppi pixel density. Asus prime's pixel density is only 149.
I was under the impression that fonts were not that bad with stock ROM (but I only just got the tablet and almost directly put KatKiss on it, so I might be mistaken). Changing the default font with iFonts made quite a difference already.
