[Q] Postpone ICS update possible?? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi All,
Just wondering if there is any way to delay the ICS update more than 3 times...I've had my first reminder already and given some of the issues people have been having, it would be reassuring to leave it as long as possible....
Loving it so far, quantum leap from my old Archos 70 IT

I have managed to postpone it ever since it came out by simply hitting the back arrow at the bottom of the screen whenever the prompt to install pops up rather than hitting “postpone” on the prompt. If you hit postpone I believe it will force you to update after three days.
What I am concerned about now is that I will not receive any future OTA updates such as a fixed version of ICS if I do not install this one.

Any ideas? Camera keeps trying to update - and auto-rotate not working

Hi all,
Firstly can I say thankyou to all of you at these forums, I've been a lurker for a while, waiting for my Prime to arrive, and I'm very grateful for all your insights!
I have now recieved it and seem to avoided most of the well-documented problems on here, but seem to have managed a new one (at least i couldn't find a similar one through searching).
So I updated the Prime with the new firmware and it all seemed to go well. After a while the notification popped up to do the camera firmware (as I had been expecting from these threads). I set it going, and after a short while it said it was complete. The next time I powered on however, the notification to update the camera firmware was back, so I did it again (thinking it must be additional one). But it keeps doing the same thing - saying it's successful, only to re-appear after a re-start.
My current versions are
Build - 8.8.3.33 (which i know is what it should be)
Camera - 0xFFFFFFFF (which I know is wrong!)
Anyone else had a similar problem? Or any ideas?
I have no idea if it's possible, but I am also wondering whether this is what's causing my auto-rotate not to work. Just to confirm, I have the auto-rotate set on, and the gyroscope doesn't seem to be working for anything else (tried it on riptide demo)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
you should try reflashing .33 from the ASUS hosted file...i think there are a few threads about where to get it.

Mine is completely borked. After installing ICS I got a notification for a camera firmware update. The update failed several times, and now when I launch the camera app it says it won't work without updated firmware...
EDIT: I rebooted and as soon as it started up it bugged me to install the camera update again. I made sure the screen stayed on while it updated this time and things seem to have worked out. Camera is working just fine!

Did you get Tango without forcing it yet?

Like the title says, did you get tango on mozart without forcing it yet?
Is it actually delivering to any mozart yet? Could we be waiting indefinitely here??
Since its a minor update i dont feel like forcing the updating, too tedious...but doesnt mean i dont want the update at all. So hopefully it is coming to all phones.
yep, got it on my unbranded mozart last week without forcing. unfortunately after the update i noticed 2 drawbacks: the keyboard automatically pops out after sending a text (it used to stay hidden), and sometimes there's a slight lag when going to the settings
So...its more like a downgrade than an upgrade
Orz...
yep, that lag can be really annoying, it's android all over again. can't wait for the 7.8 update
Received official Tango update on my unlocked Mozart last night.
Haven't noticed the keyboard popping "up" after sending a txt. It just stays in place after sending.
I have absolutely no lag when going into settings at all. Wasn't sure if you meant messaging settings or device settings so I tried both. No lag anywhere.
God I love WP!

"Tap to speak" box won't close or go away

Hi guys,
I hope that this is the proper forum, if not please direct me to the correct one.
I am currently using a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6, non-rooted.
My problem started about 48 hours ago while I was voice dictating a test message.
I was doing my regular texting with the SwiftKey keyboard microphone (problem also replicates with the Samsung Keyboard as well) and the box at the bottom of the screen would not go away. I tried to X it out, hit the back button and the home button but nothing gets rid of it other than restarting the phone.
This all seemed to start happening after the Google App update.
I rolled back to the old version and it seemed to work fine. Last night, it updated itself again and problem was back.
I have included an image of what I am talking about.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very appreciative!
Thanks
Mikeinstlouis
I have to same issue that just happened and same as the screenshot.
Same issue...
This is so freaking ridiculous! A Google update that does this crap?!
I too own a S6 Edge Verizon 128GB and I noticed a couple of things.
If you bring up text to speak and then power off your phone.. Once you come back... you have locked it (Until restart)
I tried the following...
1) Reset the Dalvik Cache .. No luck.
2) tried force closing TTS and samsung text to speech.. no go.
3) Uninstalling latest update to the high quality voice. .. No Go.
4) Tried holding both buttons at the Same Time... No go..
5) For quibs and giggles.. Held down the close "X" for 5 whole minutes.
********************************************
What I think is going on is a time out error in the code.
So how i am able to get around it RARELY is..
Bring it up with the microphone button
Say what I need to say then hit the X to close it as FAST AS I CAN!!
I know that with all of our phone hackers, crackers and experts that we can ALL reach a Fix on this.
Damn Google...

One way I found that I can close it is by opening the menu that has active apps, then going to RAM, next turn the phone on its side (<--- yes do that), then hit clear memory a few times. And done its gone.
Thanks! That worked on my Sprint S4! (restarting phone has also worked for me, but this is easier.)
After holding down Home button to open the menu that has active apps, the options were still covered by the text to speak box. So I had to FIRST turn phone on its side to make visible the pie chart icon on bottom left, THEN then going to RAM tab and hiting clear memory a few times. When I turned it back to portait orientation, the text to speak box was gone. Thanks!
This has been happening to me all day long. so frustrating. I am also not the tech savy one in the house and hubby is not around. So thanks for the quick answer to get rid of it until he can uninstall the new update. Thanks
What is the pie chart menu option? What is the RAM tab? And will just be a little easier for Google to fix this? Lol
same problem here
Galaxy S6, same problem, started last night (September 24, 2015) . I do know that some updates were performed last night, not sure what. How do I uninstall the update? Which one is it? Help! I use voice typing constantly, and my phone is a brick when this thing locks up. It covers all my buttons. "Restart" doesn't clear it, I have to totally power off and back on. Right now, I have disable my voice key on my keyboard so that I don't accidentally touch it while waiting for solution.
Me too - just started today after some updates yesterday.
Same here....has anyone responded with a fix yet??
THANKS!
Glad it's not just me and my Note 3, but where does google get off sending out this kind of crap? It's enough to drive me to a windows phone.
Having the same issue only way I can get ride of it is to turn off my phone
same issue on moto droid mini; have to turn off phone too! poor QA google!!!!!
Me too. Galaxy S4. Have to shut the phone down and restart it to resolve the issue.
Piece of crap
Note 4 same problem started on the 24th
Same issue, Note 4
Same issue, Samsung Note 4.
Yep me too Verizon Galaxy s6

LG Keyboard update fails

Lately I get constant update notifications to update the LG Keyboard on my V30 (H932 on TMo). However, once the update completes I'm informed that Word Suggestions also needs an update (attached is a screenshot). This has become a never ending cycle for at least a week now. The Word Suggestions update (started via LG Keyboard settings/Word suggestions) hangs endlessly. I tried resetting the LG Keyboard app and rebooted the phone a few times but it didn't help. Is there anything else I could try?
I'm not even using the LG Keyboard as default keyboard (that's SwiftKey) but want to get rid off the constant update notification.
Thanks.
So it appears nobody else is having this problem? I wonder if this could be fixed by manually updating the Word Suggestions app to version 7.1.20. However, I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

omadm notification cant be dismissed since july 1 update

phone: Samsung Galaxy s9+
android version: 10 (upgraded from 9, pushed out by tmobile)
one ui version: 2.1 (also pushed out by tmobile)
model #: sm-g965u1
Since the 7/1/2020 update, I get a notification from omadm that a firmware update is not complete. This notification cannot be dismissed, and omadm cannot be disabled. auto retries every 60 minutes.
Also, I get another notification that wakes the phone up every 60 minutes
"Attention android update is successful" I will get this same notification again in 60 minutes.
The phone was never rooted by me. But I did buy it used off of Amazon. Phone was working fine with android 9.
I'd just like to stop the notifications. Except for the notifications, the phone works. I can make and receive calls, texting works and I can browse the web. All of my apps work.
Does anyone know how to stop the notifications?
I've already tried removing my sim card. This doesn't do anything.
I had the same problem with an unlocked used S10+ I purchased on Amazon. I had to send it back for other reasons but I got similar notifications. This seemed to work for some people:
SOLUTION (AT LEAST WITH MY GALAXY NOTE 10 +)
Had the same problem on a Samsung Galaxy S10 and here's the solution that seemed to work:
Go to 'Settings' > 'Software update' and hit 'UICC Unlock'
It loads for a moment, then says SIM Restricted... Hit 'OK'
It takes you back to the 'Settings' > 'Software update screen'. Hit 'Download and install'
It loads for a moment, then says Your software is up to date...
Then open that notification saying the profile didn't update.
It loads for a minute, then says Profile updated... Hit 'OK'
It loads again for another minute and says something similarly. Hit 'OK'

If you find a solution that works let me know b/c I'm still interested in getting an newer galaxy phone.

This did not work.
wiping the cache did not work
resetting the phone did not work.
Every hour, the phone wakes up on it's own and does the failed to update thing.
I'd root the phone, but I found out the phone is basically unrootable
It's crap like this that makes me HATE androids, not that Apple is any better. Apples are basically built for morons.
BTW, I did not see what is posted in the above fix. It makes me think some guy put that on his website just to get clicks for the ads on his page.
I tried flashing, this did not work either. As soon as you accept any update from your carrier you get this error back. In my case initially, flashing the stock firmware seemed to work. I did not see the error. But the first update that T-Mobile sent to me was the time zone update, which I got After flashing the phone with the latest stock firmware from sammobile. As soon as I accepted that update, the error came back.
someone in the T-mobile forums suggested using ADB to remove omadm. This can be done as a standard user, apparently, something I did not know.
