So I've been running Eclipse 1.3 for a while and have decided to change the launcher. After trying out a couple, I settled on GOlauncher (awesome launcher, can't recommend it enough) and also GOlocker as I wanted the ICS lockscreen (isn't it purty).
GOlauncher runs great, but GOlocker egg... not so much. If I put the phone to sleep and then wake it up, it should immediately open to the lockscreen (like it did before installing GOlocker) but instead it opens up to the launcher and then ~2 seconds later opens the lockscreen.
Is there a fix for this? Its Annoying, and whilst it isn't really a dealbreaker (I can always just use the original lockscreen) I would really like to be able to change it up once in a while.
The app need about 5 seconds of the screen being off for it to work properly. There's really no way around that. Widget locker does the same.

Just wanted to spread the word about this new launcher. It's called Go Launcher. Has some pretty nice features. I would say it's about on the same level as LP and ADW.

Thanks bud, looks promising!
Looks very good for customization and whatnot
This seems kinda interesting. I think I may give it a shot.
i am a big big fan of touchwiz. i tried the other launchers and i always went back to touchwiz.
except this time. kinda.
literally, the only thing that is keeping me from using this launcher as my main launcher is that the weather channel wide widget is not generating every time i try. i like this thing that much. it is so much snappier on obsidian 4.2 (yes i know there are other versions out there, but i feel safer using the version on their website as i figure its the finished version) than the modded tw launcher in use there. like noticably faster and more responsive. i will definitely be keeping my eye on its development.
I have tried the Go Launcher for a while. It's pretty good and it's faster than ADW.
In addition, it uses less memory than the ADW and LP. One thing I'd like to see
is the capability to hide the Dock as in ADW. And apparently, ADW has so many
themes which is really attractive.
But overall, Go launcher is a good choice.
zeam launcher
Go launcher is aight, takes up a lot of memory and causes phone to lag after a while. Honestly, try the zeam launcher. Way way better. The app drawer can hold a lot of apps. you'll love it!

i agree i use zeam and love it
Speaking of go, the sms app is the best I've used thus far. Maybe I'll give the launcher a try.
I'd pass on go launcher if I were you. I tried it for 2 days last week and ended up hating it.
If I spent too much time in an app or just away from the home screen, the launcher would have to reload all of the apps onto the home and app screens. Screen orientation was always buggy as well. Half the time I flipped the screen, the dock bar wouldn't turn with it. I'd have to move to another screen or flip and flip back to get the dock to move. The dock bar email/messaging unread count wouldn't clear after reading either. The app menu scrolling was very choppy, regardless of how long I let it sit to load.
It's a decent looking launcher, but has a ton of bugs still.

it seems to me that the there's no way to change the lockscreen bacfround on 2.3?
i use different bacground for every homescreen i have, and it's pretty bad looking whey phone locks itself on the wallpaper, designed for that homescren page.
going crazy here.
anyone?
Try widget locker.

thx dude
very nice
WidgetLocker is pretty good. Just some annoyances: sometimes there's slight delay in showing it, sometimes kills ur launcher so when you unlock you have to wait for launcher to load up again.
I wanted to change my lockscreen to original froyo lockscreen . I tried widgetlocker.but the 3 seconds time it takes to shift from htc lockscreen to froyo lockscreen is depressing.. is there any other way?
try lockbot pro and use a app called no lock which turns of the sence lockscreen
Plus lockbot pro has 6 different lock screen layouts
Hope this helps

About the widget locker
When I first installed the Widgetlocker I had the same thing - it would show the sense lockscreen and blackout into widgetlocker. I quickly uninstalled it and got my 2 bucks back. However recently I decided to give it another chance and it works great - no delay. Try looking in advanced settings, turn the default lockscreen off or something like that. And remember about the 5 second rule.
There is another issue however. It seems to drain the battery faster (50hours vs 80+). My guess is that the default lockscreen allows a downclock of the CPU and widgetlocker doesn't. I'll try that out again soon, because it's just so awesome.
Thank you for your valuable advice and replies friends
This question may be hard to explain, so if I am doing a poor job at explaining, please let me know, but right now I have a rooted Thunderbolt (Das BAMF Remix 1.6.3) and I am using WidgetLocker. When I unlock my phone, I like how sometimes it just go straight to the homescreen with no transition, but sometimes it does that 'zoom out' transition where the screen gets smaller as it zooms out into the homescreen. I tried looking all over in the preferences of WidgetLocker but I cannot seem to find where I can make it so there is no transition and the lock screen goes straight to the homescreen... I also looked at my LauncherPro preferences to see if I can stop the homescreen from transitioning from the lockscreen (maybe that is where the problem lies). I could not find anything and was wondering if there was a way to make it so the lockscreen/homescreen do not transition when the phone is unlocked? Any help is appreciated - thanks!
Bump - if I need to clarify, let me know, because I sometimes do a piss poor job at making sense of my words, ha.
Hmm.. does it do that without widgetlocker?
It could possibly be just part of the structure of the Rom.
Mine, when I unlock, has the fade effect.
Would that be what you're talking about?

Possibly? It looks like when I unlock, sometimes it goes right to the homescreen, which I like, or sometimes it looks like the lockscreen background (which is different from the homescreen background, maybe I should have clarified that earlier, sorry) zooms away into the homescreen background, which looks awful. I feel like it is trying to transition, but since they are different backgrounds, it looks weird unless I can change that. Is that better or is my explanation still a little confusing?
From what it sounds like, its just the lockscreen app you are using, just having a different wallpaper. Have you tried changing both to the same or is it something else?
I believe I know what you're talking about with how the lockscreen seems to "slide" away so to speak?
It did that with me when I used lockscreen apps

Yeah, I am using WidgetLocker, which a lot of people told me was great, and so far I really love how customizable it is. I would like to keep it both different (I have a sort of theme going on and it wouldn't work right if they were different), but yeah, the lockscreen just sort of zooms away and the homescreen flies in (the background does not necessary fly in but the top notification bar and the icons fly into place). I feel that there is a way to make it so there is no transition or anything like that, but I cannot seem to find it, ha.
Not really sure. That's just how the system works I believe. It's basically an app transitioning to another app. (Which can be disabled in phone display settings)
So let me know how it goes because I have been considering about getting widget locker too haha.

Hmmm... Your post actually gave me an idea and I switched that Animations from "All Animations" to "Some Animations." I have no idea if this will work or not, but I will let you know.
EDIT:
"Some Animations" made it go away - thanks to everyone who helped!
I am very disappointed in Launcher Pro Plus as after about a week of use, it begins to force close almost every time I power on my phone. What a good launcher to try? Thanks in advance!
I am on the P3Droid rooted GB!

Alright Then Well There's ADW Which Is Cool And There Is GOLauncher EX. Those Are The Top Two. I'm Using LPP, Sorry You're Having Issues With It.
I too had major issues with LPP on the X2. I was a long time LPP user, but switched to Go Launcher and I haven't looked back. I've been using it for a little over a month and I haven't had a single force close or redraw. I won't be going back to LPP anytime soon.
The only thing I missed from LPP when I switched were the calendar and agenda widgets that were built into LPP. I downloaded Colorized Widgets (free) and the widgets are nearly identical to LPP.
I was using the FB and Twitter widgets. Not sure if they were causing the issues! I would get freezes that sometimes turned into force closes. Attempted to contact the Dev..., UH but you know how that's goes sometimes with some of these guys!

It was FC on me everytime I swiped to switch screens - made it completely unusable for me. I have tried them all, and nothing beats ADW EX in my opinion.
Rock solid.
Same thing is happening to me. I already bought LPP from the market, it was like $3, I really don't want to shell out another $3 or $4, I think developers should be fixing problems with their apps. I've bought so many apps for a purpose and then later they stop working because of a new android version, or they just become buggy altogether.
Go Launcher EX is free and has all the features of the paid versions of LPP and ADW. Plus, the GO team is constantly updating it.
Im sure the widgets have something to do with it.. I have been using LPP since day 1 on gb and not had had a single FC or issue with it.. Its FAST, and i have a few widgets on it:
-the weather channel
-Scorebook
-Sticky Notes
-Touch Calendar Pro
-Digital Clock Widget
-BT/AP/Wifi/GPS On/Off
not a single issue.. also have a few shortcut icons there.
I even had the 3d effect on for a while, but i turned it off cause i liked the bigger icons top and bottom instead of the fold over effect.. which is nifty tho.
I run launcher pro and only have had 2 force closes since I updated to gb

Is it me or does it not have an option to hide the status bar? I just tried it out after using LP for a half day and immediately had to switch back. Using Launcher Pro since I updated to GB yesterday, it seems nice, but I haven't found many good themes for it to entice me to get the premium version. On the other hand I came from ADW, and while it seems like LP is better in a few ways, ADW has a large awesome list of themes you can install which has been tempting me to return to it.
