Transformer Prime case - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I takeit this is the offical case?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPOJ4cL9bfw
Looks flimsy?
youtube embed fail :/

I have it, and I like it. It's not flimsy at all, but it also doesn't secure to the top of the Prime and does nothing to protect the back. I like it because it's nice and thin and does a nice job of propping up the tablet.
A bit overpriced at $40; would be a lot more comfortable at $20. But, I don't regret the purchase.

^^^ Is he serious??? ^^^
I'm sorry, but have you just learned to use the internet machine

I bought this case
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006LSCCPG/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details
i wanted a folio type case for my TF201. Cant say there is anything wrong, or bad with this case ... it protects it well, works as it should, and feels like good quality.
However it does add some bulk! I dont mind it so much, but its noticeable.
Overall i am satisfied and would recommend this to anyone else looking for this style of case.

I was remiss in failing to point out that there's an accessories forum...

If you are considering purchasing this. I suggest you buy a full body screen protector. I have this case and it scratched up the aluminum on my first Prime. This is what I've been using currently from Case Logic. (see pics)

I had that case, but it held down the volume up and power button down which caused a lot of problems so I took it back. Do you not find this holds down or covers your buttons?

Thin Hard Case

Wondering if anyone has a good hard case suggestion... The bezels on the device seem a little weak, and I would like to protect it. I do enjoy the rubbery grip the back has though.
Any cases exist that might be hard and cover the bezels, but provide a good hold?
Hee are some options.

I ordered a Trident case, I will share my results if its ever going to arrive >.<
I use the hard shell frame from B&N. It fits really nice, keeps the look and feel of the device. adds a bit of thickness, but you know it'll survive a drop or two! I also have a screen protector on so its like the whole thing is covered! My wife has a booklet style cover and although it keeps the screen guarded it doesn't help much when dropped, it's fallen out of it's case many times when dropped on the carpet!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a case somewhere in the realm of the Trident Aegis or the Otterbox Commuter, since both seem to be discontinued, and increasingly scarce? Or will I be doing myself a favor in the long run by going ahead and ponying up $50+ for one of the last few specimens floating around on eBay?
https://www.speckproducts.com/fitfolio-for-nook-tablet.html
I got this Speck case a few months ago in black, and I love it. It has the hard plastic shell to cover the edges of the nook, and the front/back is a faux leather material that's really nice to hold. The inside of the cover is pretty soft, and won't damage the screen at all.
It isn't the most heavy-duty case, and it doesn't cover the little piece of plastic near the sd card bay, but it is a form-fitting case for the Nook that doesn't add a whole lot of mass.
Cheaper to buy on amazon, here:

Trident Aegis FTW
Ended up getting the Trident case from a seller on eBay. Been using it for a couple of days, and I'm absolutely enamored with it so far. Makes my NT feel more substantial, and has improved my thumb typing and my Shadowgun skills. Highly recommended.
I ordered an otterbox commuter from ebay, but ended up returning it cause there is no access to the sdcard without taking off the case. Ended up with a 10 case off of amazon. It is made for the color, but fits my tablet perfectly and has a built in stand, which is pretty useless unless you are actually reading books.

At the risk of repeating what's been mentioned before, if you can score the Trident case it has an easy-access flap to the SD.
And it's awesome.

I would have considered it but I already got the Otterbox and I've been happy with it (use one on my phone too). It was easy to cut the plastic back, smooth the edges, and slit the silicone and have easy access without negatively affecting handling of the device. If I for some reason need another case I'll look into it though

SGP & Case for Transformer Prime

Just checking the Ultimate list up there on the first page, I notice that the TF101 is listed, but not the TF201. Is it possible to use the 101 screen protector for the TFP?
Would any harm come of it if I did? Does anyone have any recommendations on a dry application screen protector?
I was also wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a case similar to the fabric of the Ipad's magnetic "easy" cover or whatever it is called. I purchased this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0063Q3G3I/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01
But my only problem with it is the bulk and how much space it takes up when attempting to prop it up.

The original Transformer and the Prime have different sized screens, also the cameras and light sensors are in different places on the two tablets. I don't think you would damage your tablet by applying a non-fitting screen protector, but it probably won't look good and it might peel off easier than it otherwise would have. Plenty of companies make screen protectors for the Prime but most of them have a rubbery feeling. If you don't mind the rubbery feel I would suggest the Skinomi screen protector.
This case:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sikai-ASUS-...ccessories&hash=item27c5a15016#ht_7226wt_1344
is made from a material that is very similar to the iPad smart cover. It also has a loop to hold a stylus, and the cover stays closed magnetically. This case is also super-thin. The thinnest I have found so far.
Ghost Armor makes a great screen protector for the Prime. I'm using their clear full body on mine and I couldn't be happier with it!!
Not really any thin cases out there for us yet, though I hope that changes because I'd love one. There is a thread in this section where a member is attempting to produce some hard, thin, snap-on cases. He has a prototype already and I hope he gets them produced here soon as I'll buy one immediately and I know many others will too.

I ended up trying three different screen protectors (due to different factors), the last being the ACase Screen protector.
Comes three in a pack, fits perfectly, dry apply. Looks GREAT! You really need to look very close to even know that it's on, and it's thin enough to slip in the keyboard dock without any interference.
Highly recommended.
Is Skinomi dry apply or wet? When I initially take it off the sheet that is given, it feels like a dry apply, but I don't understand why they give you that liquid. If it is wet apply, than I do understand. I just don't think I am either doing the wet apply right, or wet apply just straight up sucks. :\
Also, thanks so far for your help guys. I did order the sikai case, we will see how I like it when it gets here. Too bad they don't ship through Amazon, as I would have definitely liked to go through there rather than ebay.

Hey confused, I think it depends on what you are looking for.
Yeah, it adds a little thickness, because it is not a "skin". I got it 'cause it is heavy duty drop protection. I love it. I think it gives me better protection than my [big name] drop case, and it was about half the price. And I don't lost the sensitivity of my screen like I did with my other one, cause this one fits with my own screen protector. So my big-name case is going on ebay after trying this one.
If you just want a decorative skin, go for something else, like a "skinit" or a "decalgirl". If you want something to protect your TF, this is the best one I have tried. Since my TF300 does not have gorilla glass, I got this for when the grandkids are using my TF.
I received mine a couple of days ago. Love it.

haha. Not sure why I put consufed smiley. lol. I guess. I personally like no case at all but once in a while my daughter uses it. that's not the case no more since I a smaller tablet (tab 2) for her.
Here's mine. All the buttons and slots are perfectly accessible. Fit's nice and snug and feels good in the hands.
My only gripe is the red is a bit on the pinker side then I would like [picture below looks really pink... it's a little more actual red to my eyes in person]. Gonna order a black one in the future.

Thank you for posting the screenshot. I thought it might be flimsy around the edges but it looks like it hugs the device tightly. I ordered one. Should come in the mail today.:good:
No offence but it looks fugly
I Just got mine (black) and its nice. Its thick around the bezel maybe 1/2 inch but its really not bad. It fits snug and does add some weight.all the openings lines up perfect. I like it better than the folding cases, this and a screen protector and your good to go. I dont think it matters what case you have, if you drop your tablet your screwed. But this will prevent scratches and dings for sure
Yesterday my grey one was delivered too. I like it a lot. Finaly i have a good grip on the tablet now. Did you all notice the strap on the back where you can put in your hand so you even have more grip? Very nifty! :good:

Poetic Cases!

So Poetic has some new cases due to come out on October 30th according to Amazon. They look very nice and are definitely my style of case.
Here they are:
Turtle Skin: http://www.amazon.com/Nvidia-Shield...869&sr=8-6&keywords=nvidia+shield+tablet+case
Revolution: http://www.amazon.com/Nvidia-Shield...69&sr=8-15&keywords=nvidia+shield+tablet+case
Personally considering the Turtle Skin case as the ability to use your stylus as a kickstand is great. Not sure why the Revolution version has most of the speakers covered. (Unless those spots they cut out are the only areas where sound is coming out?)
What do you guys think? I'll be updating this post with the Turtle Skin case as soon as I get it.
No speaker holes.
I was looking at those the other day and couldn't figure out why the frig they covered up 90% of the speaker ports.
Kind of makes dual forward facing speakers a moot point? Someone in the final approval dept. needs to get off the crack and look at the way it actually works lol.
Poetic is great. Ive had 3 tablets prior to the shield and used poetic cases for them all. These are terrible cases compared to the ones Ive used before. I cant bare to think of how hot the k1 will get in these beasts.

Yeah I was a sucker and paid way too much for the Shield tablet cover, but after using it and playing the k1 optimized games I know why they went with the open back design with minimal contact points. It would be awesome to find a silicone bumper or something to still fit the tablet but a fully covered back on the shield is not a great idea if you actually use it for gaming IMO.
Pre-ordered a revolutions case.
As for the speakers if you play around covering up the grills you'll notice that where poetic have put their holes is actually where the sounds comes out the most.
Has anyone tried the turtle case yet? I had ordered the Revolution back in Oct but was not one of the ones to get the first shipment so I canceled it and went with a flip cover case. However for normal day to day use the flip cover case is kind of annoying and I'd like to switch to an open face case like these.
Just got one of these puppies and want to see the REVOLUTION case in action. Can anyone please post pics? Tia!

for me it did. I think it might had more to do with the fact that I already had an illumishield cover.. I didn't really care much for the built in screen protector, considering it kept giving that oily look, like in the pics above. Anyways, with both the illumishield and built-in protector, the touch sensors was wonky, especially when using the stylus. And since I liked the non oily look of the illumishield, I just basically hacked away the built-in screen protector. as far as the case though? it's pretty awesome..
Ah ok, i didn't notice that it was the soft type screen protector that does that oily crap cuz i was on mobile when i saw the photos. I also like to provide my own screen protector and just use the frame, thanks.
My poetic case is coming in today. I had the thought of doing the same thing as the other guy. Cutting off the protector of the poetic and installing my own screen protector.
With the built in protector only the stylus works fine. Don't like the weird oily looking effect though and probably will remove it also.
Now I've used it for a while there are things I really don't like about it. The buttons are really hard to press now, I might try to mod it to make it better. The port cover will probably get cut off as it doesn't stay in after being left on charge over night. The stand is a nice feature but poorly done, only one angle option and its not a good one. Would be good to have some sort of incremental angle options and to lock into place.
But the protection the bulky case provides cannot be denied.

That was the dirst thing I did when I got mine. I've never really liked the built in screen protectors, they all seem poor compared to combining the case with a nicer screen protector. Use tempered glass + Otterbox on my M8, and an illumishield + poetic on the shield. Not a huge fan of the buttons, but it's stil the best and basically only choice for a hard case.
just wondering, anyone here has cracked edges problem?
I read it like almost everywhere on the nvidia forum... and ppl there are.. kinda nasty. most of the things discussed there is not constructive...
So I had a mixed experience with the Poetic Revolution case.
tl: dr Poetic need to make a SlimLine range for the Nvidia Shield Tab so it can be oriented in Landscape and Portrait.
I had to shave off the locking lugs that stow the stand so I could easily deploy and stow the stand. I also had to cut into the flap so it would return to the covered position. The material that Poetic chose to use for the rubberized flaps is different to the SlimLine range of cases, and is less flexible.
I also had an issue with the kickstand hinge lugs breaking off and I had to request a new case.
The new case is better than the first one. The stand will deploy much easier now, and the rubberized material *eventually* returns to it's original position. It still doens't close immediately after you have unplugged headphones or the charging cable, but it gets there eventually.

This is a fantastic case. It's magnetic so it wakes it and puts it to sleep. It's slim, it fits perfectly, and the front can be folded to stand it up. They have a ton of colors and it looks really nice. It's only $15 shipped!

I'm not worried about a screen protector but only because of the way I use mine. If I had children playing with it or used it in harsh conditions, I would.

This Christmas I gave Memo 7 tablets and BobjGear covers to all my grandchildren. I dont know what you mean by "good", but for me, the kids drop them a lot and I have not had to replace one yet. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Did anyone spot a nice genuine leather sleeve or folio for either ME176C or ME572C (I have both ) . I have one PU leather folios for the ME176C but not only was it cheap, it looks even cheaper, has a lousy feel, adds lots of bulk and weight and the built-in stand is pretty much useless.
I'm thinking of getting an iPad mini sleeve as it has exactly the height (but more depths and less width) and there're plenty to choose from...
I got the official ASUS case for my ME572CL. Not the folio smart case, which is way too expensive, but the soft silicon rubber one. Cheaper, looks nice, thin and offers reasonable protection, but I really don't recommend it - they have tried to keep the edges thin so that they don't cover any of the glass screen, so the fit is much too loose. Also it has no magnets and no strap or fastner, so the screen cover just flaps open. Because of these flaws the case is not really fit for purpose and I find myself taking it off whenever I actually use the tablet would have been better off just buying a cheap nexus 7 sleeve.
Well, meanwhile I was doing a little research and figured out that iPad Mini Sleeves (which can be found in abundance) would be a perfect fit due to the exact same length. However thanks to a strike here it's been in somewhere in the mail for just shy of 2 weeks now...
I think the nexus 7 2013 size is a much closer fit.

You're totally right. Thanks for the tip.
Can anyone recommend a good "bumper" case? You know, a rubbery one that just slips on (covers the back and edges only, no front cover) and protects it a bit from falls?
What's a good case for the 176ce?
