I'm wondering if anyone has found a way of making this happen, or if is even possible. I'd really like to be able to sit with the cable plugged in while watching a rented movie, but with the cable coming out of the top of the tab rather than the bottom. Thoughts or ideas?
Didn't test on stock video app but it works for me with Dice Player.
Edit: I just started stock player.. watching normal videos upsite down works too. Don't know bout rented videos
Well ok then does anybody know if there is a video app other than the stock Videos app that can play rented movies from the Market (I feel like this isn't possible, but I figured I'd throw it out there).
Hi all,
I know rooted devices are blocked from playing movie rentals from the Android Market. I had hoped to use my tablet to watch rented movies on long flights. But I was forced to rent a movie on my phone, with a much smaller screen.
Are there any working (and legal) solutions for movie rentals for offline viewing? I am not interested in ripping my own movies - I want to watch new (to me) movies.
I would even be willing to go to stock TnT (grudgingly, since I really love the C+C ROM) if movie rentals works with it...well, and if Skype works with it too...oh, and Netflix, but I digress.
Thanks!
when I try to play the video it kicks me back to the video search results.
I was able to play his video fine prior to upgrading from Honeycomb. could someone with ics on prime test and see if they get the same results.

VEVO videos all crashed on my phone and tablet... can anyone confirm?
I think you guys are right, it does affect some other HD videos. I tried to playback a Kanye West Power Parody and that video crashed the Youtube app as well.
I don't know it affects all HD videos because yesterday I had no problems playing back Reckless Tortuga's videos which I thought were in HD, at least that's how they are offered through the browser. (they might not be HD on the app as there's no way of telling, other than a setting that suppose to enable HQ playback).
Good news is that this is only limited to the Youtube app, I can playback the Power video fine from the Browser.
I hope somebody fines out about this and fix this issue because the Youtube app is main apps showcased on the Prime, and it really makes things look bad if you try to play an HD youtube vid that will just crash the app.
I can't view the Kanye West Power music video either, but that said, the issue is not "all HD movies" since I can view and play the HD movies I've personally uploaded.
For example, you should be able to watch this just fine -- I can:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoK_OmSE8wg
the Kanye West vid crashes my Youtube app too. If you go to it in a browser like Dolphin you get a message "not available on mobile" even though I'm using desktop as user agent. Didn't know they could do that.
No Kanye West? Is this a bug, or a new feature?
My youtube is completely broken
Is there some workaround to allow streaming of Amazon Prime HD videos from Amazon.com?
I can stream Amazon Prime movies in SD with no problems at all, but when I try to stream any HD content, I get a window popup with the message:
'You can not playback this HD movie via the Amazon.com website. HD movie playback is limited to Kindle Fire HD, Xbox 360, PS3, Roku, TIVO or other Amazon Instant Video HD Compatible devices. Would you like to watch the Standard Definition version instead?'
Anyone had any luck getting this to work?
Seems pretty obvious that Amazon reserves HD streaming only for users of their authorized devices. What's not to understand?
I use Firefox beta and run amazon on desktop and it gives me hd streams
Sign up to Dropbox using my signature and we both get an extra 500megs free http://db.tt/YZjXmjTT

If you had read my post, you would realize I was trying to find out if there was a way to get it working on the Nexus 7
I'll give Firefox a try as another helpful poster has suggested.
It works
Hello XDA,
I have a few movies purchased on my HTC one, and they won't play in HD (They were bought in HD). I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but it was working fine on Sense, however once I flashed the Google Edition RUU, they will only play in SD. This happens both when I try and stream it, and when I download it.. That's weird because I have my download set to HD. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe its a Movies update?
Thanks,
