Does anyone know in battery usage why the colour of the phone signal sometimes changes to a different yellow. What does it mean?
Attached you can find an example.
it is signal strength.
solid yellow means phone is working properly
pale yellow means there was a signal issue and phone had some trouble connecting.
break or no colour meant the phone could not connect to the network.

green means full signal
yellow mean weaker signal
red means no signal at all or is unuseable.

Yes but why we have two different yellows, one more bright?
Please help on this?
the bright shade of yellow the better the signal strength, the bright means that you were in a good location which received a clear and strong signal.(ie outdoors or indoors ins an area with indows near by.
paler yellow means that you were probably in doors away where you could not receive a strong signal because it had to penetrate through walls.
Wanted to ask this question too haha.

My fascinate has the phantom button press problem in low 3g coverage areas, witch can be quite a problem because my whole house and surrounding area has terrible coverage.
So my question is would it be possible to just turn off the buttons all together in favor of the on screen ones on ICS roms?

hi,
my S3 and my colleagues's S3, when we receive sms or missed calls,
the LEDs does not have consistency,
mine is white but there are some background color like slightly orange and yellow but my colleagues is jus pure white
then for orange, mine always shows like a circle with 3 quadrants of different colors but my colleagues only show 1 color,
is my set fault or this is because of the way the phone displays color but if it is so, then both phones would be showing same instead of distinct difference, right ?
can anyone share their experience ?

You can download lightflow from the marker to test the LED. With that app you can test a variety of colours.
Afaik there is a revision 1 and revision 2 of the i9300 (international) around with revision-2 only having slight design changes to prevent some issues.
The phone has several distinct LED's which, when mixed together, display the color of your choice. However several colors which are not native (meaning which are not directly displayed by a single LED) mixing together doesn't really give the intended result but a confusing "mess" of colors.
My best guess is that, if your friend's S3 really only shows a single color-point, he got a revision where they either moved the LED's very close together or replaced them by multi-color LED's.

Really???? And how can you tell which revision you have?
Hi,
I bought my GT I9100 in July 2011.
It's almost a year and I discovered recently that screen burn in started appearing near the status bar. It's not something that is immediately apparent, but it can be clearly seen if the screen is filled a with dark blue light. I can make out the burnt image of clock and signal bars in the status bar.
Has anyone experienced screen burn in international Galaxy S2 and any luck in getting it fixed/replaced by Samsung. I still have a month of warranty time left.
Cheers.

i see a round circle in bottom left corner dunno if its an chip or something tough
Yes
It's pretty common. My status bar had bad screen burn in so I sent it off and it was repaired under warranty.
I can constantly see a vague 50 with a circle around it in the top right corner coming from using Sygic all day long. Bought an S III and gave my S II to my brother. He doesn't have an eye for stuff like that, so coming from a HTC touch diamond, he's extremely happy with the phone. He won't use Sygic so I guess the problem won't get worse.

I have the same, I think it's a common problem with AMOLED displays.
I installed Go Launcher Ex and it has the option to auto hide the status bar which is handy, it comes back when using some apps but it may help with the burn in issue
I just wonder if any one have the same problem, my WIFI and phone signal strength never turn green with Galaxy S3 GT-I9300. They always grey even though I don't have any problem with phone calls or network at all. On my Galaxy Captivate they are green all the time. Just wonder. Please let me know if some of you have seen they turned green. Thanks.

Stock Galaxy S3 signla strength bar and wifi bars are always grey mate, All you get is Orange downloads arrow and green uploads arrow
Hope this helps
So I've bought this used Oneplus X ( Age unknown ) and it has burn-in on the status bar. I only just noticed this after re-flashing the phone where the white theme was as default. A ton of Facebook notifications, different battery and reception is burned in. I'm wondering, is it the "Always on" feature that contributed to this, or is it just general use?
I got this phone for 100 euros, switching over from a Oneplus One with rampant 3G issues, when switching to the black theme it isn't noticeable luckily so there's that!

1. Why did you get a used Oneplus X at 100 euros , where you could have bought other new phone.?
2. Always on display shows the date, time and notification.... Even when the screens off.( So I don't think it's that.)
3. Burn in rarely happens on an AMOLED and if it has happened, you need to replace the screen.
Hope I answered your question.
It can happen from general use. On my phone it's quite noticeable.
I've got a bit of burn in on mine, from the notification bar, but I can only ever see it if I'm looking for it AND have the brightness down all the way AND have the area around where the notification is a grey colour. At that point, I can start clearly making out icons, but otherwise general use has not left any marks. I could probably even make it a bit better by switching my notification bar icons to black and using that for a long while, but I don't really care enough since it's so minor.
