Hey guys, there's a sad news and a good news. For the first; bad news is that my SGA got stolen in an Car Fair (named Auto-Expo), so I was there standing between huge crowd and someone pickpocketed my phone while I was not paying attention to it.
After 3 days, the money I collected for Galaxy S Plus, thinking that I'd sell Ace and get some money from it so in totality I'd get S Plus. So I invested the money I collected on Motorola Defy, which has very active forums on xda, plus has very active development and most of all official MIUI and Cynogenmod and I am VERY happy with this phone.
So this is end of my legacy, bye guys have fun and I think one day Ace would get stable and fully working ICS, and it could be overclocked to 1200 Mhz easily.

Defy is a fantastic phone. If you need any help with setting it up just shout. But wont be using mine for dev work as miui! Lol! If you flash miui use the miui.us version. Its closest to the original and fully translated.

I can use your help, since I am very confused with rooting, flashing and finding particullar SBF for it to run MIUI. Can you PM me the whole procedure? By the way I have red lens Defy with 2.2.2 Asiatic firmware.
Red lense is better from what I understand. You need superoneclick to root.
Once rooted download the app from this thread(2nd init installer)

And run it. It crashed first time for me but worked fine second time. After that download the miui or what ever you want to flash And put on memory card. After that. . . .
shut down.
Power up.
Press down on volume rocker when blue led flashes
Recovery menu will load. On this touch screen in bottom right corner to show menu.
Choose recovery.
Custom recovery.
Cwm will load.
Sure you know the drill after that.

Maybe some people are wondering why I am not dot writing about Android related stuff in the last weeks / month.
Well I am pretty exausted, I moved cities at th end of the last year, started a new job and all this right at the time where ICS droped. But a long time before that Android wasn`t really fun to me, the demand was insane, many of my non Android posts got hijackt, a bunch of mails, comments, what ever spamed my private life.
I will continue my break on Android at least till easter hollidays.
Now some of you might want to know whats happening with the stuff I worked on, especially the Galaxy Ace owners, don`t expect anything, currently all my Android stuff is canceled and I don`t know if I will continue on them in the future.
Please don`t ask about them, because I can`t answer those questions.
This is actually quite sad. Especially since cooper is already in the CM7.2 changelog.

i had been following XDA forum from some months now...n rite from day one there was so much hype about official CM.
I was very happy with the unofficial CM development by our developers on XDA forum.
More over now unofficial CM 9 is expected soon.
With so much of development on XDA forum ,i guess 'Official CM' has just became a word and nothing more...
and finally its good to know that there won't be official CM bcz it was moreover turning out to be one sided love affair (like complicated relationship status).
I'm not surprise, i read on many forum and blog, also websites about the news in official cm...all said within a week, but that few months ago...

Even if in the the end he gave up, u guys should know that all cm7.x here using his early stage code/patch as reference/base. Eventho its sad that he gave up, he do contribute alot to make all the unofficial cm7.x here happen. Credit does goes to him one way or another

I use grif's cm for months now, despite some bugs, it's a every day use. And by now we are getting ics too, as everyone said we do have some good developers here
It was a surprise to me, probably due to the fact I'm a noob to the community.
I was looking forward to seeing if the official would be faster and bug free compared the the unofficial cooper-kang 7.1 rom I was using. It started off good, but in search for a stable oc'ing kernal, something went wrong. Apps would force close and the occassional restart would take place....occassionaly as in a minimum of twice a day.
I installed 7.2 by FrozenAceTeam a few days ago with Ketut's Blackhawk kernal and aside from the battery drain I havn't noticed any bugs. Some larger games actuall install now, like Virtual City Playground. I would get 'insufficient memory' errors with cooper-kang's, even though I would have roughly 100Mb of internal storage free. The battery drain isn't that different compared to cooper-kang anyway, although I used to get double the time on the official rom that came with the phone.
Long story short...I'm surprised, but not saddened by the news. FrozenAceTeam have saved me.
Ive had the LG OpT for quite sometime now and I was thinking about purchasing a better phone from ebay ? Im with tmobile USA ? My question is, what phone would you choose and why ?
Here's what I want
dualcore or quadcore processor ie...anything over 1ghz
expandable memory, I believe our OpT only allows up to 16gb
good camera performance with flash, anything better than the current 5mp
most importantly, a strong developing section
Which t-mobile phone do you think will get an official ICS OTA update ?
If anyone's ever interested in purchasing my lg optimus t phone, inbox me sometime...Id be willing to sale it for like 75 bucks and send an 8gb sdcard with it (keep in mind, Im not sure how much longer the card will work considering I have partitioned the darn thing atleast 500 times)
Wait for the one s or one x to be realised if you have to get a new one now then get the sensation it is fast as hell dual core and has a huge development community fully fictional CM9. ROM, MIUI , sense 3.6 and sense 4.0 ROMs pretty much everything you want in a development thread is there waiting for you the galaxy s2 and amaze for tmobile development sucks ass that's if you are staying with tmobile otherwise the galaxy nexus or HTC one x is what I would suggest also the galaxy s3 will be realesed mid summer so there is that too

Yea it has everything dude I had the p500 for a long time and loved it but when I got this phone I was so happy it had everything that I loved about the p500 plus everything I wished the p500 could get like official support for cyanogen and miui plus multiple I've cream sandwich ROM and gingerbread ROM along with tons of support from users and the hardware it's amazing it has a dual core 1.5 snapdragon that can be safely over clocked to 1.7 done even 1.9 beautiful screen sleek design and if you look at any other TMobile phones none even come close when it comes to development

If I didn't get the sensation I was wanting the g2 or gx2 or we its called..I would have to say sensation is the cream of the crop for tmobile..I'm not really sure if I want another lg phone, I miss HTC phones.btw it has a qualcomm 1.2 ghz snapdragon processor. I think that's what I read on eBay

No it's under clocked to 1.2 stock is actually 1.5 they do it cause there is a xe version that says it's 1.5 but it's the same chip and chip set another plus is you can have beats audio..... @the last reply the reason I say no to the s2 is because it's with TMobile and the s2 for TMobile is different and the development is pure crap! Trust me I did a lot of research and sensation is the best phone on TMobile USA

Perfectpeso, kang, cm7 nightlies....most of the themed roms are working with v20(letter)..data works with rc0/rc1....I'm currently back on old baseband and I'm using omgb 1.2.3 beta 2 but I might switch back to new baseband,who knows..just take a look at the android development section

Guys... the development of our phones is coming to an end... we have less and less developers everyday and I don't think I'm good enough to develop anything decent my self.... we need to find people to develop and fast if the future of our phones is to be a bright one....
I agree with you... but I think maybe is time to other people (including us), learn some more and keep doing a nice job. Not as great as some developers I guess, but someone has to do the work. I know, its hard, but what we can do if not is change our phones

Yeah, I'm currently attempting to build a rom. (it boots and works almost as well as hephappy's last build) I'm trying to hack omx in. It's very difficult :/ and I haven't had much luck so far.

Take a look at the Android Development section. There are many budding developers with their themed roms oh, I mean heavily tweaked and modded roms out there. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I feel that this is simply wonderful. Its a good opportunity for beginners to learn more and serve the online community here. I'm sure in 5/10 years time down the road, some of us will look back and say "Hey the Optimus One was the Android phone that got me so interested into developing and look at much I've learned" or "It was my Optimus One phone that made me love Android".
So alright, our phone isn't considered a legacy device (yet, of course hopefully never) so hang on in there I love my O1!

Well...I think the developers are enough to build an stable version of ics.For GB,we already have Oxygen which is amazing..or neko's rom if you like some changed graphics.If we'll have stable ICS...I don't think we can request something else from them.Even like this,I'm happy with Oxygen.
The thing is that o1 gets older and older,and resources are very limited.600 mhz...just saying.
The developers will upgrade to better phones.
This phone...I think it was it the top when it comes to developrs support.It was a cheap phone with good performances at that time.Now games,versions of android,apps,all request more resources and in time this phone won't be able to offer enough.
Probably this phone was a challenge for most of developers.We wouldn't have so many roms if this would have...a 1.4 ghz / dual core processor and this stuff.
Don't worry my friends,in time we'll upgrade our phones too.And for most of us,this phone was "first love" ...and you know what they say,you will never forget your "first love"

I'd really like to change my Optimus One for a better phone but I really can't spend lot of money for a phone. Android 4 is beautiful but set a LOT of devices apart. Now Android looks like something for the few. I still have to understand what should I do with a dual/quad core phone: my Optimus One is old, armv6, 600mhz but I can still use it with Lightbox, Twitter, FB, G+, gstrings, Maps, Endomondo and a lot of apps with no much lags (and I didn't overlock). I hope Tizen or especially Boot 2 Gecko will be good enough to revive not-so-incredibly-old phones like ours. Android is fantastic but it's going too fast.

Lolz, 2 years is such a lotta time My previous phone was 6 years old till I changed it. I bought my O1 last autumn. 6 months is really looong, so I think I gotta buy newer one
I switched to HTC one v but unfortunately there's nothing in development section like O1 has I luv my O1 I'll never forget my first Android phone which was our beloved O1.....

I had the streak and the infuse and the shyrocket but this phones a beast. ok ok I'm going to ask but its just out of curiousity. which Tom is stable enough for a daily driver. I know I know read and explore yada yada yada. just trying to get input from you early adoptors. thanks in advance.

Don't be stupid, you know what he meant. Its a typo. Nobody is perfect including you.
To the OP, are you wanting to use a Gingerbread or ICS rom? If your interested in Gingerbread try SolarisPrime A New Hope. The rom is great!
ICS = HANDS DOWN UCLE2 BASE + FJ MOD by Flappjaxxx
But many others that have minor bugs... youll have to read up on each.
I rocked troposphere for quite a while... Kinda Like AOSP
I played with tablet mods on several other bases(which was cool and different) but I already have a tablet so didnt need another one lol
Im sure that you'll want to stay away from GB roms, because if you do go with GB you'll only find out at a later date that, when you flash ICS, you should have done it in the first place... Kind like having a choice to buy either a 1990 mustang or a 2012 mustang and choosing the 90's car. Then when it starts to smell old and feel slow, switching to the 2012... Money aside of course...

I had the streak and the infuse and the shyrocket but this phones a beast. ok ok I'm going to ask but its just out of curiousity. which Tom is stable enough for a daily driver. I know I know read and explore yada yada yada. just trying to get input from you early adoptors. thanks in advance.

I'm so glad you love your NOTE
I even love this device also it replaces my laptop because I own ASUS G53SX damn this thing is so heavy to bring around
What I love about the note is 5.3 inch screen very high def qualify watching movies or TV on it at 1080P 60fps and very fun playing games on it as well when I'm out about too . Very light weight and it fit's in my jeans pocket just fine.
For 5.3 inch Phone + Tablet all in one device compared to Asus Prime which is 10 inch screen I prefer to have a device that's a phone and tablet so I don't have to bring 2 different devices around with me
The latest UCLE2 IMM76D 4.0.4 build is the most stable i've had so far. If you like the stock experience I'd say go with that ROM. Then ofcourse root it!
I'm on the stock official release that just came out. Nothing fancy for now.

If you using SGH-I717 did you get a new software update?
Is their different model of SGH-I717 I only know Internal Version and ATT Version I was wondering on how you got a official software update on your device?
I own ATT Version SGH-I717 I never got any new Software update?
Anything by Flappjaxxx. All his roms are butter with no force close issues whatsoever.

you guys are great! I have to agree ics is great had a collective rom on my skyrocket and loved it. so i guess ill have to do some reading on how to get to ics on the note. it was pretty easy on the rocket. I've rooted already and will Odin cwm tonight then hit the dev section and get to it.

Hi Guys -
i recently have bought unbranded HTC Amaze .. love its specs.. great phone
yesterday did root and installed T mobile ICS rom.
my set is new and have done only 2 battery charge so far not happy with battery performance, before that i was using samsung note it has huge battery life... So please guide me how can I improve battery life of my Amaze also i want to get rid of T- mobile apps in my firmware since I live in Pakistan where there are different service providers. Any stable custom rom if you want to suggest .. plz advice! thx
Wow welcome to the forum. The flavor of the week right now is the Viper Amaze Rom which we just got and a lot of people really like CM10 ROMs. Jose's renditions of AOKP and CM10 seem to work out well with the right tweaks. There are some of the older team nightmare and speed ROMS that some people still enjoy.
Umm if you wanna remove T Mobile bloat use Titanium back up.
And also the best place to post questions is in the Q&A section.
Read around try some ROM s out.

Thanks - next time i will do this in Q&A section, i just found that my screen brightness was consuming so much battery, now i have reduced it to around 10%. I found sense version 3.6 too older, it should be at least version 4. rightnow i am using go - launcher which looks good on dark colored amaze.
It's funny, I just switched from my Amaze to the Note 2. And it gets about 28hrs on a full charge with 5-8 hrs screen time. I can't imagine going back to a smaller phone any more. Just wouldn't make sense.
