I'm trimming down /system/app/ to almost nothing since my Photon is not being used as a phone at all. All I really need working is WiFi, Bluetooth, and WebTop.

I've seen most of these posts, but most of them take out webtop too, and none of them actually say what the apk's are for. None of them are actually removing phone and sms features either, so I'm removing quite a bit more than normal.

just put SuquashiInputmethod.apk in /system/app/ and give permissions 644 -> reboot
Maybe you have just to activate Standardinputmethod in -> Settings -> Language and keyboard , because SuquashiInputmethod.apk is shown in your posted app-list.

I want to create a light rom for my RK2818 tablet. I removed lots of apk's, and it works fine. Now, I want to delete the unnecessary languages and dictionaries from the keyboard (LatinIME.apk).
How can I do it? Can I simply remove the folders like res\raw-da with Total Commander (compression set to 0)? I want to keep English and Hungarian languages only.
I'm also interested in more tips to speed up this unofficial cyanogenmod 2.3.7 rom, because this old chinese tablet with 256mb ram is only used to watch movies and browse the internet. I've already updated the hosts file with the adfree version, and removed the following apk's:

if it still drain try use power save mode with SetCPU change it from performance
and limit the clock speed to 900mhz or bit more
u should get 200mA usage
i made with it
10hours 3 hours from all was playing music via bluetooth
and rest is idling took 16% from the extended battery(2750mAh)
I would freeze them first to make sure you don't remove something you need.
Also, it looks like you are running an ics Rom since olyou have face unlock. Might want to add what Rom you are using to the op.

hey guys, i'm not sure which app i deleted that would be causing the phone to repeatedly say "com.android.phone as stopped" ... i was pretty cautious about what apps i deleted... i was wondering if i list the apps i still have, if any one could spot the one that is missing? the last one i remember deleting was "AppManSettingHiddenbin.apk and .odex".
also, as a side note, does any one know if CM10 works with p769? if so, does the google apps for voice chat (hangouts) work on it??? thanks much for any help!

thanks for the offer, but after i created this thread, i bricked the phone, and started another thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45778594 ). but, fwiw, i listed the /system/app/ directory using adb shell from the terminal (CLI), then copied the output. again, thanks for the thought.
fwiw, i got a new phone and did all this again, but this time, instead of DELETING apps i was not sure about, i made a /system/apps-removed/ directory and MOvED them into that, so that i could go back one-by-one and figure out which ones caused it...
any who, i found this out:
MLT.apk - without this, you can only make calls over wifi.
LGUniTelephonyProvider3.apk - without this, you can't make calls and you have no wifi, and you get getting that damned popup notification about com.android.phone stopping.
i think upsell.apk may have played a part in this, but i won't know for sure until i move it, which i'm about to do...

I work on MICROMAX A350, with ANDROID 4.4.2 (kitkat rom).
I try to make a stock rom. to that, i have to "WASH" my app directory on the rom.
