Anyone else have issues?

The funny thing is that these are the issues that were complained about on the wifi tab. My update was OTA and then i ran the kernal.zip to root it.
Wonder if that kernal.zip affected it or it is just coincidence... now that i think about it... had wifi issues before i rooted it so i doubt that is the case.

Calibrate g sensor like 3-4 times to get auto rotation to work. Same problem was here on Egyptian 3.2 update 'it's. Fixed but rotates in 2-2.5 seconds

My Wifi has issues, but it is when the computer sleeps and wakes up it doesn't connect. If I turn off the wifi and then turn it back on, it connects fine.
The rotation works for me, but there is about a 2 second delay. It doesn't bother me because I never use my tab in portrait mode. I almost always lock the rotation anyway.

So whats happening is, im streaming pandora or spotify and the music just shuts off about a minute after the screen does. And when i turn the screen on the wifi icon at the bottom right is blank for a few seconds, then turns grey, then blue and the music starts again.
I have checked the option to never turn off wifi and installed wifi keep alive, and tried regpon keep alive but neither are working. I've also been through all the power options and unchecked anything that would suspend my network connection.
I know its not a router issue because I'm getting full bars and everything is fine as long as the screen is active and my other devices do not lose internet connection.
I'm also not using a Dongle. Any ideas?

Yes I did.
Unless there is something non standard about the TFP there would be no reason that your streaming apps couldn't retain a WiFi lock - Android programmers guide here http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/media/mediaplayer.html.
If a program such as regpon is needed then I see that regpon was last updated January 2011 - is it worth trying some other apps?

I've had this same problem, and it started after the Jelly Bean firmware update. Doing a factory reset didn't help. I tried contacting ASUS' service department, but they sent me back a boiler plate response just telling me to do another factory reset. As far as I'm concerned, the tablet was broken by the update. It's pretty much useless for any task that doesn't involve the active use necessary to keep the screen awake. I'm going to try calling ASUS this weekend when I have time to sit on the phone, but I don't expect much. At this point I doubt its something I could fix myself (unless I root the thing and spend time poking around for whatever hidden setting is forcing wifi off during sleep) and am resigned to the tablet being broken baring some patch from ASUS.
I've seen some similar reports from other devices too though. Yet not a single solution other than trying those two apps (which didn't work for me either). I don't know if its ASUS' particular Jelly Bean setup or a more general Jelly Bean bug.
My wifi's turning off while the tablet sleeps as well. It's really annoying; hope Asus figures out some sort of solution for this.

Thanks for the info. I did notice the problem after the jellybean update. I also just did a factory reset twice to try and fix the issue to no avail. Hopefully Asus rolls out a firmware update soon.

Go to wifi settings. Hit the menu and go to advanced. Uncheck the box to disable wifi on sleep. Its a little tricky with JB as the menu button is up at the top. It should look like 3 little dots sacked vertically.

Although I appreciate your help, the problem isn't that we haven't set Wifi to stay on during sleep (or unset an option for it to be disabled during sleep). The problem is that our configuration choices are being wholly ignored or overridden by some setting we can't see. For example, my Wifi Advanced Settings is missing two of the settings that are visible in the screenshot you've posted. I've included what I see. I've also included a shot of the ASUS Customized Settings menu which also has a wifi use during sleep option.
The Wifi Timeout option on your screenshot has caught me eye though. It seems like there is something hidden on my tablet (and the others experiencing this problem) that is similar to that option. Again, this wasn't a problem for me before the Jelly Bean upgrade. Setting Wifi to always stay on during sleep under ICS worked just fine.

My WiFi goes to sleep as well.
As the others I enabled all the settings to keep WiFi on.
Wondering if anyone has had any traction on getting this issue isolated or resolved. I have come across the same Wi-Fi sleep problem.
Thanks

I don't want to speak too soon, but the latest update seems to have fixed things for me. The patch notes mentioned that they adjusted the wifi configuration to recognize Chinese characters. Maybe the changes they made also corrected our problem. I'm also on my family's router while home fpr the holidays. I'd read that some users in JB regaedless of their device were having this problem with older routers.
I am curious to here if it is resolved for you. I have done the JB update to 10.4.2.18 which had that fix and I still see this problem. In addition it happens on any network I connect to so I don't think the issue is there.
Thanks

shouldnt have to. a streaming app should keep the wifi alive.
I've tested my tablet with all the posted setting set to keep WiFi on during sleep while streaming Pandora and it works fine. I let my Prime sleep for over 10 minutes without interuption. I don't know if this makes a difference but I am docked and using the Pandora app not streaming through my browser (Boat). I then set my Prime to shut off WiFi at sleep and Pandora (on the app) kept straming until Pandora timed out. Strange indeed.
I'm on 10.4.2.18 not unlocked or rooted.

Noob here.......
I saw this post and have just run into this problem myself.
When my tablet screen sleeps, my alarm apps won't work, and none of my mail gets pushed UNLESS I have it charging.
Why does this happen, and is there a work around? I've designated my wifi to never sleep/always be on.
I'm using an Onda v972.
I had a rooted Nook Color, and this never happened with that. Same programs.
Thanks for your input.
solved it
I have solved it I have same problem on my tablet and I fix it by downloading an app called WiFi advance Locke
Skype Notification Problem
Hi,
Has this problem been resolved? When the tablet goes to sleep Skype notifications no longer sound.
I keep the Skype app running in the background at all times. WiFi is set to not disable.
Any help appreciated.

Has anyone else noticed that when you set anti shake and video stabilization or face detection the settings disable themselves? Does having the camera on auto mode and applying these settings make them get disabled when selecting HDR another use since you can't use anti shake with this feature? I'm tired of always having to go into the camera settings and making sure they are applied versus just being able to use the camera.

Glad it is not just me either. I thought it was was because of me using the clear cache app, so I stopped using that and the problem was still there. I even thought it was switching to HDR mode from AUTO and so I kept leaving the camera on auto and it was ok for a day or two and then went in there randomly and it was gone. This is very frustrating and annoying. Hopefully a fix comes out for it.

It even happens for me when putting the flash on Auto. It changes back to Off all the time.
Having the same issue with my verizon version. Also some camera force closing issues.... Weird.
I've only owned my Omate Truesmart for one day and the WiFi decided to give it up. I turned the wifi off once today and as soon as I tried to turn the WiFi back on it would not work. Whenever I touch the button to activate WiFi it lights up blue for a second and it then stops. Tried it several times today and nothing different. When I try to get into the wifi settings from the "Wireless & Networks" I'm greeted by a blank screen too.
So far I'm considering if it's a software issue I might try to return it to the stock firmware with this guide. However I'm waiting until I get some input from other people. I don't have cellular data access because I don't have a sim card in it. Any help is appreciated.
So what not stock firmware are you running? BTW both BT and wifi hang on stock firmware. You need to disable quickboot and reboot.
Question. What is wrong with my flashing guide so I can fix it.
Oh nothing wrong with the guide. I haven't used it yet. I'm on the stock firmware. How do I disable the quickboot?

I got my Omate today and am having trouble with Wifi. If I turn wifi on it crashes the phone and cuaes it to completely power off. It will run for as long as I like with airplane mode on and will not crash if I turn bluetooth on. I found this suggestion and turned quickboot off and rebooted. Still the same behavior with wifi. Has anyone else reported this? Any suggestions?
I'm running firmware 20140120
I have a weak wifi signal on my Omate. Unless I'm right next to the router I can't pick up a wifi signal with the watch. Is there anything that I can do about this?
Sounds like the wifi antenna connector came lose. Contact Omate and get it replaced. The only other option is to disassemble it and reseat the connector.
Whenever I now try and switch bluetooth on it instantly snaps the button back to the off position, I have tried turning it on in loads of different ways and it just won't come back on...
It was working fine till yesterday, I installed Swapp Link app and let it manage the BT connection and now it won't switch on... I have remove / reinstalled the app and restarted phone etc, nothing has fixed it.. any ideas? ;(

Maybe that app has rule to switch your BT?
If you don't have it, try to restart TS and wipe both cache from recovery (if you have it)

Bluetooth also suddenly stopped working for me. And it is not possible to turn it on. To make things more interesting - I didn't install anything on my omate since I upgraded to TEST_RELEASE_Omate_2100_TrueSmart_20140314.zip on the day when my omate 8GB/1GB 2100 arrived more than a month ago. It worked fine all this time, and without any visible cause it just stopped today.
I wanted to tether to ipad to provide internet connection, while riding in a bus, and suddenly snap - bluetooth turned itself off. I tried restarting omate. I couldn't figure anything to get it back to work.
it happened exactly 6 hours ago. About the time when you made your post.

how to do a hard reset of omate, without voiding the warranty? Do I need to wait until battery runs out?
No, just turn off quickboot and power the watch down. When you turn it back on Bluetooth will probably reinitialize and work again. For a while.

Quickboot didn't knock it out. The defective TrueSmart MTK firmware and hardware combination cause all sorts of problems with using Bluetooth, including some that require a full power cycle reset. That is not possible with Quickboot enabled unless the battery runs down or is removed.

Glad to see your BT and TS are working fine now...
All el devices could be "fixed" by restarting it.
They are all using RAM and/or dalvik cache and that has to cleared sometimes...
Dalvik cache is a "place" where Android decompile apk files for quicker access, so when you wip dalvik cache from recovery you are clearing everything so system has to decompile apk files again and RAM is cleared also...
It's like fresh start and it "fix" many software issues that way...
If you have ADB tools and rooted device, you can use adb reboot from adb shell, no need to open your watch, lose warranty and pull battery out...

So my GPS only works while my screen is turned off and locked.
Anybody else having the same issue?
Sadly I am on a locked boot loader and pretty sure my warranty is gone due to age of phone...
Anybody know of a fix? This issue remains persistent through flashing all ROMs nebulous, stock, etc (bootstrapped). I can't navigate at all these days BC it just will drop as soon as I turn the screen on! Then I have to turn the screen back off/lock and hope it syncs and starts telling me turn by turns again.
Uuugh frustration with a locked boot loader!

Try uninstalling maps and clearing maps data via app manager and running the stock version. If that works you can let it update again and it will work.
