Can someone tell me why I have duplicates of my mp3 music that do not play. This is very annoying! Thanks in advance

I had this problem earlier this week. I had to actually reformat my SD card and internal memory for it to work again. When you look in your music folder from your computer none of it is duplicated just on the phone.

no need to wipe.
I had this issue in passion v5 - v10.6
Settings -> manage apps -> music -> force stop / clear data.
Settings -> manage apps -> media storage -> force stop / clear data.
Reboot.
Fixed.

hey guys so i just restored my backup of DarkRevenge v 3 from aosp froyo and now that everything is back up and running i noticed a major problem my phone icon and app is missing i had it on my dock bar so when i clicked it it for some reason would take me to messaging. Then when i get a call i can answer and like normal but i look in my system app's and dialer and phone are there. When i attempt to install it says not installed and my phone app is not in my app drawer or my home screen and when i try and make it a icon on my dock and it asks which i go to applications and its not in there any help is appreciated.
Try wiping cache and dalvik cache before you restore it

darkrevenge v3 had an issue (my fault prolly) with the dialertabactivity.apk having a bad manifest...that download was only up for like 10 minutes before it was fixed...but it could be thats your issue if thats what was backed up

So I did the upgrade today to 3.5.1 and now I have no ringtones at all. I checked in the settings for ringer and notification and nothing. The only other things that I have done to the rom is flash Black Google Apps, Themed MMS, Fast Media scan, and the memo download.
I am currently reflashing the rom (yes I did wipe when I flashed it originally), but does anyone have any ideas?
If you had enabled fast media scan and the wiped data without disabling it. That would cause your problem. I would suggest Odin and then reflash rom

DOH! Thanks for the quick reply. I reflashed the rom with cwm and the ringtones are back. I am going to just reflash all the other programs and not Fast Media Scan.

Could've just checked system/media to see if there was a .nomedia filed, deleted it and restarted so media scanner would find it. No need to wipe anything

This appears to be mostly optimizations... Its the exact same UI as far as I can tell. It is faster in certain areas. Definitely a + for the new market.

It's a little different with every ROM but just download then click it in your notification bar once it's done and it will ask if you want to install. Or you can use the file manager or download application, just click it open app manger then install.

Just reboot the phone. That should take care of it. If it does not, you can do it using Root Explorer. Navigate to the app and long press on it, a pop up menu will come up. Press pemissions, when the box pops up it will have three colums of three. Just check the ones that are unchecked. Then reboot the phone. Or you can just boot into recovery and choose fix permissions. Then let it do it's thing and reboot.

Yeah I got a fc on this once today but only once. Goto settings -> applications -> all -> market -> uninstall updates. To fix constant FC.

Nice solution, just uninstall it Might want to try clear app cache first or clear dalvik and see if it helps.

Shoot. Forgot about clearing app cache. Nice catch.
I wiped the cache Anand fixed the permissions through cwm. That fixed the issue. Thx for the help!

My settings keep force closing on me whenever I try to click on something to get more information. For example when I went to motion and clicked the smart alert button to learn more it would freeze and then force close on me every time. Is anybody else experiencing this? I'm on stock rooted rom.
(Also the xda premium app force closes a lot too.. Just a side note.)

boot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache and that should fix it. Also, what rooted rom are you running?
I pretty much on stock rooted rom, it's actually Whitehawks debated stock rom. And all I did was flash that rom and use Robinsons aroma debloater full debloat. That was a long time back and then I just installed my regular market apps. The setting things I just noticed a couple days back. I didn't go into settings much. Gapps also frequently force closes too, I don't know what's causing it.
The xda force close is because I think something is wrong with the app. I saw reviews on play saying the same thing.
But yeah I didn't mess with freezing or un installing with tit bacmup.
I'll try and do the dalvik wipe and see what happens.

Tried doing the dalvik and cache wipe problem persists. The settings just force close when I learn more about smart alert and like try it and others like it, also on phone status. It just bugs me.

It will not display what I type in but rather some random numbers and operations. This is with the stock rom on i527. What's more, I can't disable the app in the application management settings. I had to reset the phone to rid the problem, but it will come back in a few days, until I reset again. Obviously a software bug?
For the time being, I installed the real calc from Google play store and it behaves normally.

I had weird crap happen to mine Saturday. It would put 2 numbers in when I only hit it once. Cleared memory and that fixed it
