So about 3 days ago i was starting to learn some android app development with Eclipse by http://www.youtube.com/user/CornboyzAndroid videos (no promo) and iv been following for about 11 videos, i have no errors in my code only the notifications about hardcoding text. Everything works fine in emulator (the app is on 2.1 and emulator is on 2.1 too) but when i try to install it on my phone (Xperia Neo w/ open bootloader, new ROM and Kernel, running 2.3.3) it says app not installed. But that doesen't tell me anything or how to fix it. All other apps are installing fine. I let my friend test if he could install it and the same problem came up. The app is supposed to be just some startup screen and menu that has buttons and stuff, nothing fancy, but to start with my deving i would like to get atleast one working app.
So has anyone experiensed this kind of thing and knows how to fix it?

Hello!
I'm using Autonootered 1.1 and Asphalt 5 HD showed up in the marketplace for $1! It failed to load the intro video, so I deleted LOGO.MP4 from the directory it was stored in (I think sdcard/data/gameloft/games/asphalt5, but it wasn't hard to find) and it loaded perfectly! It is very smooth, and I have a feeling that if any other video problems arise deleting them should work.
Hurry to buy it while it is on sale!
thanks for heads up, just picked it up for a buck
Thank you ! gotta try this now
I tried getting it working on nookie Froyo 0.6.8 but no luck. I even tried deleting the video file, but it just kicks me out saying it can't load the video.
Any ideas on how to get it working on Froyo?
I bought this today . Installed then wants to download additional files. Tells me it cannot download the data apk . Not compatible blocked.
I have N/C auto-nooter 3.0 1.1 .
Any ideas why ?
Version 3.1.8 works fine for me, I'm running 0.68 Froyo emmc. I had no luck with other versions of Asphalt, including both the one dollar version from the market, and the 5 dollar version from Gameloft's site.
Anyone get this working on CM7?
downloaded, installed and it says I need to install another program in order to run it, I hit ok and it fails. Anyone seen this?
Edit- got it to install, needed an sd card in. Kicks me out at launch, no error. Deleted the intro vid, didn't work.
How exactly do you find sdcard/data/gameloft/games/asphalt5 ? I am new to the android world any help pointing me it the right direction would be appreciated.
Update : Found it connect to computer using usb cable look at contents of sd card , gameloft . deleted logo.mp4 now loads and works although froze on my 3 rd lap on first run . Will try again .
Okay , need another work around running auto-nooter 3.0/2.1 , Uninstalled , reinstalled , removed logo.mp4 . But now game wants to download missing file to continue , once download will not open . Looks like for me only worked the first time. any other ideas to get this to work .
* / For those who get the error message incompatible file or device will not load apk , go to NooK Color Tools , and check , uncheck , check again , Allow Non-Market apps , then totally shut down Nook and reboot .

Hi ;
Found a version that would work with my nook color . Uninstalled my paid version from market .
Then installed ver. 3.1.8 for the Galaxy Tab . It works .
Asphalt 5 HD v3.1.8:
Samsung GT-P1000 Galaxy Tab
Samsung GT-P1000L
Samsung SCH-T849 Galaxy Tab
Samsung SPH-P100
I got the .99 one working. If I deleted the video file it usually worked but would want to redownload when I re-ran the app. Also tried converting the mp4 to baseline and the app didn't like it. I now have the following..
1. Make sure the Nook status bar is hid when running AW by doing the swipe.
2. Don't delete the video file.
3. Run app. It usually will kick right back out but I keep trying and usually around the 4th try it will give me an error about the video file failing. Click OK and runs fine.
AW? Sorry for the noob question.
from my NOOKcolor BN1.1 rooted
Sorry. Typo. Meant ADW. The default launcher. To hide the bar just swipe up.
I installed G Harmony V2.6. Kernel ver 2.6.32.42, on my Woot gtab, eveything went well. The Market has all the apps i could ever want, but sometimes when I choose one to download the install button doesnt appear where it should be. For instance adobe flash, no install button. Angry birds rio, has an install button, installs and runs fine. But Angry birds 1.6, no install button. I went through all of the unlocking procedures, got the error message, rebooted twice, and still don't get the install buttons. Any fixes?
"Download" button often missing in new market
I have the exact same problem. I'm running the VEGAn-TAB GE 7 rom. Ever since Market updated itself, many apps no longer have a download button. Apparently Market thinks my device is a "Malata VEGAn-TAB" and prevents download of any apps it thinks are incompatible (e.g., Flash, even Google Maps, etc). Is anyone else having this issue? Anyone know of a fix or have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Same problem here
no download button
I have tried partitioning the sd card, the market fix, and editing the build.prop file with no luck. There are still apps that dont have a download button for me!
WHAT TO DOOO
I have the same problem with Calkulin + Clemsyn Combo Overclock at 1.5 ghz V6 ROM. I followed instructions at Goodintentions' viewsonic gtablet for dummies website and everything works great except for some apps I can't download. The apps appear in the Market when I search, I see the description, screenshots, etc. but no download/install button. A friend of mine has the same Gtablet with the same ROM and the same issue.
I believe the root cause is how the Gtablet device is being identified in the Market. For example, Starbucks is not downloadable. When I go to market.android.com, it shows the app is installed on my Sprint HTC HERO200 phone (running CM-7.0.3, Gingerbread 2.3.3).
The Gtablet, running Calkulin + Clemsyn V6 ROM shows up as Sprint Malata UPC300-2.2 and it says "This item is not compatible with your device"
I now need to defer to Android experts, can anyone please help with this Market identification issue on the Gtablet?
The problem was how Gingerbread was identifying the device to the Market. I got frustrated and switched to GTabComb. Very glad I did. Everything works great. Once you switch to Honeycomb it will be very hard to imagine going back to Gingerbread. You'll wonder why you waited so long.
It works perfectly now, in Froyo. Follow viewsonics gtablet for dummies website, go to howtos, then market fix. I was doing an extra step which broke the process. Follow goodintentions process exactly and it works!
I tried looking for a thread about this matter, but couldn't find anything that exactly matched my problem so here goes:
A while back I rooted my X10 for the first time and installed FreeX10. Eventually, for the sake of getting the Dual Touch update from Sony, I flashed the phone back to its original state with the UXP and updated. At the time I did not intend to go back to FreeX10, I opted to continue using the UXP. However, when I first tried to restore most of my applications, I found I was unable to do so. Paid apps downloaded fine (most of the time) but any free apps I tried to re-download would not. I could tap on the "Start Download" button and the phone would show a notification with a progress bar, but the bar would remain at 0%. If I tapped on the application in the Market again, it would take me to the application's description page as usual but where it would normally show the "downloading" progress bar was just a blank white space. I was unable to resolve this problem so I eventually (with much difficulty trying to re-root and reinstall Titanium Backup without access to the market or a proper File Manager application to install APKs) went back to FreeX10. Surprise surprise, the Market works fine in FreeX10. So here's my issue. I want to flash to phone back to UXP and upgrade to 2.3, but I don't want to encounter the same problem again. Does anyone know if I might encounter the same problem? If so, is there a way to fix the problem?
setting > apps > filter (menu button) > all > download manager > force stop
hit thanks if i helped !

As I mentioned previously, I don't want to reinstall the stock (ie. UXP) interface again unless I know for sure whether this will happen. Last time it took some creative tinkering and hours of work to flash back to Free X10 since I couldn't install a proper file manager in order to install APKs directly. I don't want to have to go through all that again and I don't want to get stuck without a working Market.
Running Android 4.0.4 on Emerson EM543 Tablet. Could not install Google Play so had to install Android Market. Market apparently somehow disables the Android system LockScreen. So, now trying to get lockscreen back on boot (downloadable apps, as far as I can see, don't lock screen at system boot, which is what I want). I got a terminal emulator and was wondering if there was a Linux command line argument I could use to start Droid lockscreen at system startup. Any suggestions?
I thought I was getting close with this solution, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499906, but it is for an HTC Amaze 4G, and I can locate the AdroidManifest.xml files in the apk files on my system (using ROM Toolbox Pro Root Browser). But, even if I could figure out how to do it there, that file would be changed in the very next update. I am looking for a something similar, just need to know the xml filename or a command line argument that could be used in a startup script.
Thank you.

Did you get your tablet running again? Were you able to install Google Play on it? I have the same tablet that I want to have up and running by Christmas, and would like to know what works.
Tablet works -- just lock screen doesn't work

The Tablet runs fine. It's the lock screen that's still disabled.
I was able to successfully get Android Market on using this process:
xda-developers.com won't let me post links. Google "Installing Google Play without rooting on Android Mobiles or Tablets".
It is not exactly Google Play, but it works with Google Play fairly seamlessly.
I bought another one for my cousin for Christmas. I think it makes a great little inexpensive mp3 player, with the added bonuses of games, email and any of the other apps you wish to enable.
I got the Android Market installed. It made things way easier. This is what the home screen will look like when opened on Christmas morning. Keep me posted if any custom roms, or ideas come up for this tablet. Thanks!

I have just installed CyanogenMod 7.2 for a while. It's said to be based on Android 2.3 but there seems to be some apps which should be compatible but in fact they're not. Like puzzle retreat, it run smoothly on my old android-4.0 device but it's broken so now I have to uset this app on my htc aria. App was installed successfully but when I opened it, a message error appeared constantly so I had to remove it. Why that happened? This app is supposed to be compatible with android 2.3 and up?
And my contemporary OS version: CyanogenMod-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-liberty.
You will need to post more details about the error or a screenshot in order for anyone to help. If you just moved your sd card to the Aria and are expecting it to work, there could be a problem - maybe clear the apps cache/date before launching it (which will erase any info saved by the app)...
Also, if you're sideloading the app, there's a chance it is not compatible with the older version of android - and should be installed from the play store so you can get the compatible version.
