Battery life ! - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Just wanna share that I haven't experienced such good battery life since LG P500.
This is even better !

This is my first smartphone, and I'm suprised by stories of people that can't make a full day on a single charge I usually have >50% left with normal usage, and with heavy usage enough for a day.

If you are like me that are playing around with root and cusrom rom
If I start playing with it at 14.00 hours my battery goes dead in about 4-5 hours :-(
But for everyday use my sensation hold for Max one day ;-)
I am getting use to it. And it is one of the biggest dravdown of smartphones anno 2010 - 2012
Hope we are getting some new battery technology in the near future ;-)

Howw ??! :O
Rom Kernel ?!?!
Tell

I get around 2 days of normal use on stock .62 ROM and avoid using loads of stupid Apps, Task Killers and so on. Keep it simple and stock if battery life is important.
Remember app sync frequencies and Wifi settings to off with screen...

Then check what is eating the battery, because that's not normal.
Settings->About phone->battery use
If you can't find what app is causing drain, do a clean fresh install and see how it goes on stock.
If stock goes ok, then your phone(from hardware side) is ok.

very "not normal"!
You are doing something really strange I'm afraid. Go back to basics and stock everything!

My on stock work fine...if charge it over night, after all day of clicking, and working om;em, in the evening is abouy 30-40...so it can works almoust 2 days if you power off at night

The battery drain issue cause by kernel version. FW .283 has the best kernel battery back-up, mix it with .62 ROM and baseband, = EPIC STOCK ROM.

Galaxy S2 short battery is this normal??

OK so today this is what I've done with my phone:
2 hours of music playing via headset
half an hour of music playing via external speaker
half an hour of voice talking
like 100 messages sent/received
30 minutes of internet/facebook browsing
2 albums of 100 MB each sent via bluetooth.
10 minutes of office editing
It's on 35% now and that drained after 11 hours(with the above use). Is it normal? Is my battery faulty? Is it an overuse of the phone?
That sounds completely normal for your SGS2. That's a lot of usage right there you know.
A custom rom based on android 2.3.4 (and up) and Juice Defender will certainly give you double the juice. It does for me!
That was good enough. 4-5 hours screen on time us the most I get..wifi and 3g on, push naik, stock room on speed mod kernel.

Sounds about right for that amount of usage, 100 texts in 11 hours day though crikey
BTW Juice Defender Ultimate will use as much battery as it saves so it is not recommended, this is coming from someone who used to be a huge fan but i was advised to uninstall it and ive saved loads more battery without it.
So am I, jonny68! Works good enough for me!

i guarantee you if you compare battery life with Juice Defender Ultimate and then freeze it and test, you'll save considerably more battery without,7 hours extra i got
was using JD. It crippled the phone..missed calls, late emails and so on. I stay stock, freeze Bloatware and use speedmod kernel, takes me thru the day with 4 hours screen on time, wifi 3g normal use.

I usually get over 16-18 hours of being unplugged about 3 - 3.5 hours of screen on time before I charge it (and go to bed) hehe.
I use JD free ver., balanced profile, right now and i have to say that at the moment works really good. It impressed me!I'm on stock. i surfed the net for 30 min(stream video and sites) my battery is still full. Usually it would be 1/4 less. Anyway, i don't know about you guys, but for me it seems to work ok. (i'm using it for a week now)

[Q] Is it normal (battery)

Is it normal that my battery drops a precent in around 2 hours?
revoulution rom
i heard people with some roms that droped 2 precent in 2 days so it doesnt semms legit
i think its normal but what kind of kernel do you have ?
just ask the people what they use
I drop one percent in 5 mins if screen and 3g on.
Drop one percent if in one hour if phone is idle..
I think my phone is worse

ok im using set cpu now and i idid when my screen off the freq will be 200MHZ and i thought it will consume less battery and i lost 4 precent during the night its 9am here right now
and its pretty frustrating anyway to keep like 2 precent on the night?
My battery performance is not stellar either. I can get about a day (24) hours of moderate use (in this case, i mean the device is in moderate use about 12 hours, while it is idle the rest of the time).
2.3.5 is supposed to drastically improve battery life on the stock version though.
juice defender has actually been a big help for my batter and everyone i've shown it too, like anything android it takes some tweaing but once it's done it's well worth it
i changed the rom to check rom v5.5 with siyah kernel 2.0 i just overclock the CPU and underclock when not in use it saves battery
my question is now if anyone here uses this rom and can find me some themes

Xperia S... Poorest battery life in a phone ever.

Is it just me or is this phone the phone with the worst battery life ever seen on any device.
Seeing gingerbread on this phone is already annoying enough but the battery life is completely useless.
Considering that it has sealed in battery, we're truly stuffed. Can't understand it at all. Don't they test these phones.
I went to bed last night with the battery at 98% and woke up to find it this morning at 63%. Just ridiculous.

It's just you
what firmware are you running? how long have you had the phone? If you are at .73 you should have no problems, even at update .67 its not too bad, so it's you... unless you sleep for 2 days .
Also, there's also a battery thread, which isn't even on the second page of this section yet. Or did you make this just to start a whine
thread?
Edit: Actually, its on the second page now, my bad
I'm on stock Rom the battery is pants, however I have used my desire charger, full charge from 40 percent in 15 mins, so it may be pants but it's ok ics should improve things

Over night with WIFI on, Network ON it eat just 9% of battery.
Also you got rapid charge, they give this to us with a reason.
Hope moderators will merge the thread with the other one
I am running .73 firmaware & have no battery problem.. 16-17 hours with heavy use is more than enough when everything is on auto update.. In my sleep time, battery goes down just 3-4%.
.73 Firmware says otherwise
same here after update (.73) it lasted more than 8hrs (heavy usage). 7:00am unplugged and came back home around 7:00pm with 20% left. Standby during sleeping now takes around 3-4% in sleep mode compare to 30-35% on firmware .63 or .62 (i forgot)
4 days here and still 23percent left...

On .73 it's lasting longer than my Arc did, with even more background synch events.
The Xperia Ray had a awesome battery, on that note
Firmware does improve battery, gingerbread did wonders for the X10, but like everyone said the latest firmware does fix the battery, I had to charge midday when I first got my XS because the battery would drop very quick with heavy usage and half a day with moderate use, now it's last all day till bed time, thou it still can be improved.

[Q] Very poor battery life

Hi!
I just got my Xperia Mini Pro (a week ago).
I immediately flashed it with CM10 #146 and overall I'm satisfied with it's resoponsivness and performance. The only thing that worries me is horrible battery life, I just charged it this morning and now, about 6 hours later (20 mins of talking, about 15 messages) my battery's at 35%. I'm not using any data conenction, I have switched it to 2G only, my signal is strong, I have reduced screen brighness to about 75%, and I keep both BT and GPS off. I do use wifi, but that's like 10 mins a day. My phone came with a 1160mAh battery, which I know is not the most powerful one, but baraly 1 day of batteyr life in a brand new phone, and being forced to charge it every evening just scares me
Is this normal for these Xperias? My old Wildfire used to last about 2-2,5 days.
Yes. It is normal for me. I charge my phone everyday.
You can lower your brightness or apply battery tweaks to preserve battery life
Sent from my WT19i
You can try another kernel, for instance MESA 2.2, and undervolt a bit. I get about 2 days of battery with that kernel and some init.d and build.prop tweaks.
I don't really fancy any of those ubertweaked-hardocre-v6-megaoptimized kernels and stuff. Cyanogen mod does the job for me, and I don't really want to "overtweak" antything I'm just gonna have to stick with what I have I guess.
I don't think that flashing it with stock FW (which I'd hate to do) will help it?
Christ... I don't get it... A friend of mine has an Xperia LWW with the same battery, the same CPU, and she charges it like three times a week, while I'm gonna have to charge it like seven times a week. It's just wrong. I hope that the battery will get a bit better over time, and I'll be able to use for at least 24h without looking for the charger.

Yeah man, but i guess she hasnĀ“t flashed cm10... ROM consumes battery as well. If you were on stock firwmare as i guess she is, then you would have almost the same battery backup
Always check that sync is off. Cause it will drop battery bar easily. Of course in case you don't need sync.
And check build.prop. there's 2-3 lines which will help the phone to deep sleep better. (Search xda)
I myself use aokp jb with messa kernel and with normal usage it takes me 1.5 day.

Best Comb
I respect all the developers but with due respect and personal opinion:
Kernel : Kernel PAnic v2.5(ICS) and Rage 3.0(GB)
ROM : Smultronic v 5.0(ICS) and Spartan v2.05(GB)
Brightness : 40%
Sync off
I get a usage of about 2 days on both of these roms...and if u are a light user i mean if u play no games them HyperBeamCream is really good for ICS.
well...1 day battery life is abt normal for our fones which have1200 mah battery,,,,can't help it:crying:
well the simplest way to take a step for solution is changing kernel to mesa cause with fxp 146 kernel there was a horrible battery drain for me also. Reduce the screen brightness & turn off 3g if u dont need it
i suggest mesa with CM10 too .
You could also decrease processor speed in standby, I think normally it's 250 but you can put like 125.
In cm10 mesa kernel does the job... It really saves the battery... And one more thing is that, give it some time... The battery will become normal after a few days of usage...

Battery life.

Hey. I made this thread to find out how long the battery lasts for you guys on a full charge. Please give your answer along with the rom you are using.
Usually my phone lasts for about 8 hours if I don't use it too often. I'm on stock.
I have 8-12 hours in normal using. I am on ViMiRo
several days, but i barely use it, its in standby and airplane-mode most of the time.
weird thing is, when the phone's turned off with "fast boot" enabled, the battery drain is way higher than its in normal standby. the phone thinks its awake when its turned off, guess thats kernel related, dont know.

I know! I use my phone for whatsapp and a few short calls only. Still I have to charge it twice almost daily.
Because if you root your phone and remove some (unnecessary) default aplications your phone can keep much longer.
Also think about Greenify (root needed) which can hibernate your not needed tasks (which also drains so fast your battery)
My phone with Greenify + LBE keeps like I said about 1 till 2 days.
I have a lot of apps But Im using Greenify + DU Battery Saver Pro.Last night my battery was on 100% and I didn't use it and on next day around 12:00AM was 40%....Maybe some app using the battery idk , but like @Vineet Upadhyaya I have to recharge it almost 2 times on day
