Hello xda,
I am fairly new to android platform and have been messing around with my g tablet a bit. I got the Vegan 7.0 rom to work but there are a few issues I have with it.
First of all, when I connect my USB to the g tablet, I don't see any mount options. I have checked the settings and do not see it anywhere. Anyone know how I can connect my gtablet to my computer via USB? Also, I tried to connect a USB flash drive so I can import some files but nothing appears when I connect. I do not know how to access my files. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Second, my flash player does not work! I tried to install adobe flash player but flash does not work period (even on youtube). I have tried opera browser and that is also a no go. When I try to download the latest adobe from the market, it says my device is not compatible. I am trying to install adobe 11 manually but I cannot connect my gtablet to my computer x_x.
Lastly, I know that Vegan 7.1 is out and its supposed to fix the flash, the usb, and everything else. BUT when I try to install vegan 7.1, my gtablet does not get pass the boot screen. It freezes and I have to resort to 7.0. I followed the steps on here when installing 7.0 and 7.1. 7.0 seems to work fine but 7.1 just freezes. I did a clean partition and formatted everything.
Please help me out if you know the solution to any of these. I would prefer Vegan 7.1 to work and hopefully then everything else will work. And yes, I did do research and google, I did find some similar posts but those did not help me.
I have no problems with Vegan 7.1 RC1. The only issue I ever had with it was making sure I was using the correct version of CWM for loading. I'm also on the 1.2 boot loader.

Good point, how do i update my CWM?

So after searching the vast horizons of XDA I haven't found an answer that really helped me. Nor have I found someone with this distinct issue. I have an unlocked Samsung Vibrant. I have not rooted it. I updated to J16 with that P.O.S. Kies Mini a few months ago. I hadn't noticed this problem until the last month or so but I haven't had time to sit down and curse at my computer long enough or offer supplications to Google until now. I've just been using Awesome Drop to get what few files I wanted onto my phone. I've had enough of that now. And...I also want to update it to Froyo but I can't do that if I can't get my computer to see my phone. I'm running a Toshiba Satellite A205 with Windows Vista 32bit.
I have checked the drivers and as far as I can tell, I'm using the right ones. I downloaded Kies Mini again today (I deleted it after I was finished with J16 because I wanted it as far away from me as possible) and it seemed to say something about downloading drivers as well. I tried plugging in my phone. Nothing new. So, I went in search of drivers again. I have searched and tried a few different ones but nothing has solved my problem.
The phone charges fine from my laptop. It hooks up immediately and charges without a problem. Unfortunately, my phone seems to regard the PC as a complex wall-wart. Debugging on/off, USB Settings on Mass Storage, Kies, or Ask on connection, it doesn't matter. It doesn't give me the option to "mount" as it has in the past. It doesn't do anything except charge. I've seen some people say it's a problem with their cables (I've only got one at the moment) but since my phone charges fine, how can it be a problem with the cable?
Only thing I hadn't tried was a factory reset. So, I sucked it up and tried that. Nope. No change. At this point I'm wondering if it's a hardware problem, not a software problem.
I'm out of ideas. Anybody else?
Well you can always root it, install ROM manager from the market, install clockwork recovery, download the ROM you want to install in flashable .zip format from your phone and flash away. A new ROM might fix your USB issue.
If you don't want to root it, see if you can get into download mode, and flash a new ROM using Odin. I would check with a different cable first, just to be sure that's not the problem though. It might save you some headaches.
If it was me, I would just root it and load a custom 2.2 ROM. I would also get Titanium Backup from the market and backup my apps and would do a nandroid backup from recovery before flashing anything new just to be on the safe side.
There's some good info on how to do most of that in this sticky post.

Ok, to start off, im new here. i have read a TON of threads about rooting and flashing roms to my vibrant. i have watched a dozen youtube videos on many different ways to do this but nothing seems to work for me. i am trying to get the team whiskey bionix v rom. i previously rooted my phone when i was on 2.1 but ended up unrooting because i didn't really know what to do yet. after upgrading to android 2.2 i tried to root again so i could get this new rom. i eventually got rooted after some difficulty. i used superoneclick root to do this. however i was stopped when i could not boot into clockwork recovery mode. i searched for hours on how to make it boot into this recovery mode but nothing worked. so i tried using odin but ran into a massive problem with it not recognizing my phone in download mode(YES I HAVE ALL THE DRIVERS). so i tried to unroot my phone and re-root it. however it wouldn't let my unroot it through superoneclick. it would not recognize my device. i got very frustrated and uninstalled the superuser app on my phone which actually got rid of my root access but now i cant re-root my phone.
I am very frustrated having spent a good 8 hours on this by now and getting stuck at every turn. should i go back to factory default? or is there something i should do to try and salvage this? also if i do restore to factory default will i end up on 2.1 or 2.2?
And yes i have read the entire noob guide and vibrant bible thread.
(BTW i have tried making this work on a windows 7 machine, windows xp, and a mac)
When you connect to pc in download mode, do you already have odin up on the pc?
Does it show a com #?
i have Odin. when i connect normally with my vibrant it picks up a com port. however it doesn't during download mode. i have tried with it up. with it down and then opining it up. plugging in my phone and reconnecting it over and over again and pretty much every combination i could think of because i read that it is a really finicky program.
btw i have done a complete factory reset and cleared all my sd card data(i backed it up on my computer beforehand) it is on froyo and still refuses to be rooted and Odin still wont find it while in download mode. I have followed every step of every walk through to a tee and yet i still have had no luck. maybe ill switch back to my windows 7 computer and try that again.
Hello,
I have searched everywhere but I can not find a solution to my problem.
A few weeks ago I was able to connect my phone to my computer and Eclipse without issue. All the drivers worked even without Kies ever being installed.
Then I installed Cyanogenmod for my Galaxy S2. Here is the guide I followed.
After that my computer would not recognize any drivers. I uninstalled all drivers related to my phone, I even installed Kies. My computer still won't recognize any drivers.
Please help.
Have you tried the USB Driver for Windows from the Android SDK?
http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
Thanks, I tried it but it didn't help. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers in SDK Manager. I updated SDK Manager and that didn't help either. Nothing seems to work. Kies still will not successfully install the drivers either, even if I use "Run as Administrator"
same 4 me i tried on 2 pc still nothing
Could someone please help. I use my phone for development.
If Cyanogenmod does not work with Eclipse and the Android SDK it should at least be confirmed.
Same problem here: after installation of Cyanogen PC wont recognise Galaxy S2 (even after re-installing drivers/kies; using a different PC; etc.).
I am not blaming anyone here, just wondering whether there is a solution.
Would it help to flash back to stock ROM for instance?
Ok..I have checked xda, but not cyanogen forum. The reason is a differently built Rom, not based on standard Samsung rom. I would post a link, but can't as new user. So flashing back or taking a rom based on Samsung would help.
Thanks for posting Sokarius. I am glad to hear I am not the only one with this problem.
I may back up my phone and give MIUI a try to see if that works. Other wise I may have to revert back to the stock firmware. I will be testing it more over the Holidays.
I can't believe I couldn't find this before. You're post hinted that a Google driver may be needed since CM uses the Google source.
Turns out CM has had a tutorial all along.
I followed it and everything is working now. Eclipse works great. My SGS2 is emulating again.
Hey all,
I’m not sure if this is the right place, but I hope so (feel free to move this as necessary). A few months ago, I got a Razr XT910 on Rogers. It came with 2.3.5, and so I decided I would give ICS a shot. I successfully managed to get Team Kang’s ICS 4.0.4 running on it, through CWM. That went through fairly easily.
Now, however, I’m trying to get the thing back to its stock ROM (which I already have), and have been trying to get it going through RSDlite (newest version downloaded as of yesterday).
Now I’m not a pro at this stuff, but I wouldn’t say I’m completely inept… but I can’t get it to revert. Mainly because I can’t even get RSDlite to recognize my phone, due to the MTP Usb driver failing to install. (Specifically, it says Code 10: cannot start for the error message). I’ve googled, and searched through here, but all the work arounds don’t work. (Uninstalling, selecting generic drivers manually, etc). I had chalked it up to being an issue with Win7 x64, so I tried a fresh install of XP pro x86 (through a VM), and I get the exact same error in XP.
I don’t know what I’m missing, or what I’ve messed up. It was a fresh install of XP, I downloaded the Moto driver helper as well as a new version of RSD lite. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get this driver working. I seem to be able have made step by step progress getting there, but I would really like to have this last piece of the puzzle solved, so here I am. Any help/tips would be appreciated!
If any more info is required for help, just let me know, I’ll get you what I can!

You cant go back to gingerbread after installing ICS as far as i know.
Dear readers,
I've got an HTC One S Ville on which CM Mod was running. I am travelling at the moment, on the other side of the world, so I really need my phone!
Once connected to wifi it asked to install 10.1.3, which I stupidly accepted.
Since then I'm stuck in a bootloop. I've tried a factory reset, which didn't help. I know reflashing boot.img might help, however I cannot connect my phone to any pc, because it doesn't recognize the device. Even a clean pc (borrowed laptop, I don't have one), on which I installed the HTC sync driver and BMP driver downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191279 doesn't show any approachable device.
I've given up and am lost in a forest of unknown tools etcetera and wish I'd never installed CM mod in the first place.
Who knows what to do?
My HBOOT is 2.15 and I can still enter the recovery console etc.
However, in the recovery console I cannot mount /sdcard, it gives an error.
Really, is it so ****ed up that no one knows an answer?
Well I assume you don't have a nandroid or you would have tried that already
At this point you either hope your phone supports otg and can mount an external flash drive or you need to install fastboot and adb and drivers or figure a way to get the sdcard to work, there really isn't a magic answer sorry
