Hey guys I have some questions about this this rom.
1. How do I revert back to bionix 1.3.1 from this rom. Wen I tryed it wouldn't let me flash back to bionix through recovery mode.
2. How do I access my external SD!? I've tried with root browser, astro, and a couple others to access my external SD but when I click the ex SD folder It says its empty.
Other than that I really dig this rom. I can't mute while on call but that's not a big deal. Also my HD cam was laggy until I flashed Eugene's kernel

For 1, you'll have to go back to stock and flash bionix. That's what worked for me.
For 2: it is the EMMC folder
Thanks guys

good job with using Eugene's kernel... really helps out an already awesome rom! also, for the mute issue... maybe do a clean flash of the rom? i haven't run into this issue personally, but since there's no need to do backups any longer, it would literally only take a couple minutes to reflash and you wouldn't have to worry about reinstalling all your apps etc!

So i used to have Obsidian V5 and jump around to rom to rom (2.2) but now after flashing another rom (Axura) everything lags (even worse when applying voodoo or OCLF) and now the only thing that works for me well is a 2.1 rom.
I want to go back to 2.2 without having constant hiccups...is there a way to completely reset the internel SD or something. I tried ODIN to stock 2.1 and unofficial 2.2 then flash a 2.2 but still same results.....anyone?
Have you been clearing user data and the cache before you reinstall packages?
Your best bet is to Odin back to JFD for a fresh start. I do it every time before I flash a new rom just to make sure I'm not bringing over any ghosts.

I have been doing that, for every single 2.2. but i do want the "black froyo theme" and after i flash that to it, it starts lagging, and it starts laggin after i install voodoo or OCLF (ironic huh)
Im running obsedian v5 with no lagfix, black froyo theme. Im also running launcher pro and have 6 homescreens and the phone is super fast and has no lag. Snappier then 2.1 roms with OCLF. "Spare parts" helps transitions run faster, its free in the market.

Okay, im going to try your setup
By the way, have you tried it with a lag fix?
Within spare parts turn animations to fast or off, whichever you prefer. And no I haven't needed one. I've ran OCLF, z4mod and ULF and there is no need to apply any of these. Im not even overclocked and its really quick.

Hmmm, well i seemed to have narrowed it down to my External sd card.....every time i remove it, it runs super smooth, everytime i insert it, it scans and as soon as its done scanning, it lags.....should i format my 8gb Class 6 sdcard?
Ahh i think i fixed the problem I found a thumnail folder in my DCIM folder......it was 600MB and contained over 31,000 items.....as soon as i deleted it, looks like it runs fine............ for now
i've been using macnut r12 with the black froyo theme and eugenes stock kernel with CWM, and it is as smooth as silk with amazing battery life.
Every time I flash bionix-v all my phone does is hard reset. Now I'm sure its my fault. So I'm asking for help to find where that fault is. I'm following team whiskeys install instructions. But what I'm getting is sd card can't be opened or file doesn't exist. I've tried placing the file in numerous locations. But no luck. So at this point I'm begging for help! Please.

your putting it on the internal sd right??
Yes, in the dl folder on the internal card
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
no ...you dont put it in a folder.. u just place it on the root of internal sd
say if you use the stock files app ..when you open that you should be able to see your .zip there without going to any files
Oh dang! Thanks let me give that a try.

Be careful if this is your first Voodoo flash....it comes with it enabled. If you go back to a version without voodoo make sure you go into CWM (red recovery) and go to advanced and voodoo lagfix and disable it first.
Oh and let it convert and reboot completely on its own when installing..you will hear Linda talking..
Same damn thing...no joy.
No lagfix nothin just odin back to jfd...wanted a clean slate for bionix

Well hell....maybe a bad download of bionix...
Ya know I didn't think that was possible BUT after the bionix-v -tw- voodoo.zip it says (bad) does that mean its a bad dl and I should start over?

Yea..just redownload bionix and try

FYI it can be in a folder...I flashed everything like this from day 1. You should use md5 checksums to verify your download when they are provided though. It will verify bad downloads that could potentially hard brick your phone.
I backed up my stock os with clockwork recovery, and backed up my apps with titanium, I read that I shouldn't back up user data other than wifi and bookmarks due to possible problems. Do I need to do anything else as far as backing up goes? Will I have to reconfigure my apn and network settings to be able to make calls and use data service, or will bionix v include that when I flash?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It all stays....just be sure your backup is a 2.2 cause your gonna have problem if you run a 2.2 rom and try to restore a 2.1 rom
Well....I'm glad I asked. My plan was to go to bionix v from 2.1 stock rooted. So I'll just be better off downloading them again after flashing? Is there a full list somewhere of all the apps bionix comes with?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Restoring your apps from to 2.1 to 2.2 shouldn't give you a problem. I did this many times and never had any issues. Its only the system data you need to worry about giving you issues.
Sent from a Galaxy S far....far....away.
the apps, it will never give you a problem.
but restoring the whole system like a nandbackup will if you go from 1 firmware to another.
Other backups like launcher pro backups will not do anything either, they're all in your SD Card.

What he said....thats what I was getting at
Thanks guys...one last question before I flash.
Will I be ok to backup and then restore on bionix v system (bloatware) like "thinkfree office" and "avatar" and "the sims" and "daily briefing"?
I ask because titanium doesnt back them up when I batch them as user apps so I have to back them up manually.

Hey.."there's an app for that".... yep in the DEV section is an easy tool called Android Customization Suite or you can put them back on manually
I may have to check that out. I think I'm going to go a different route with the applications.
One final question before I flash. I'm just about ready.
In titanium backup.....will I be ok to backup (in 2.1 stock) and restore (in 2.2 bionix) just the green text system data such a MMS settings and Voicemail dialer and my apn settings (only the stuff in green text) our does all of that need put in manually? I've read that its ok to restore green text system data such as bookmarks and wifi but wanted to know if the other green text stuff was ok as well.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
The ROM DEV recommends not to install any system data or system apps from a TB...So I would say, if you went through all of this hard work to get yourself a custom ROM just to have to re-do it because of an incompatible file or data problem..then that would be on you..
If it were me I would not bring anything over from a 2.1 to 2.2 system. I would just put it back in manually
Right on man....thats what I'm gonna do then.
I checked out that customization suite and I'm think that will be able to help me get the system apps back on here that I want. I won't really know if I can get it to work til after I take a leap of faith and just flash the rom. With what everybody else has said about how badass team whiskey's bionix v is, I guess I should probably trust the overwhelming opinion and flash it. Then worry about how to correctly get the bloatware back on here that I want. Im pretty sure I know what I'm doing at this point. Just have to do it.
Thanks a lot for your help man.... I appreciate the time you took to give me advice....as well as everyone else.
I'll let everyone know how it goes.

It seems like every time I get ready to flash I come up with another question.
Do I need to copy the nandroid backup of my current stock 2.1 to the external sd or to my pc before flashing? I know bionix wipes the system automatically when flashing so won't it remove the nandroid backup?
** Nevermind....found the answer. Leave nandroid backups where cwr places them. If this is incorrect...someone let me know please**
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
sounds right to me...only way its gonna come up missing is if you format or delete the cwm folder yourself
Thanks for your help jmcghee. Finally took the plunge and Im rocking bionix with most of my apps and loving it. This thing is now a rocket ship. It blows my mind how fast it is. Its like going from a dell to an alienware. All I reccommend for you guys that haven't flashed yet but are thinking about it...read, read, read, ask questions and go for it. Its not as hard as it seems at first. And the noob guide is invaluable.

Today I got data wipe failed while Odin back to stock. Now I have cm7 reinstalled and my internal and SD card are empty and saying unavailable. Have no idea what to do I've tried making a disable lagfix folder inside voodoo folder.
Appreciate it if anyone can help me out I've only had my vibrant for a mounth now and don't need another paper weight.
Odin to jfd with repartition checked. Then reinstall CM7.

thanks it worked if u dont mind me asking what rom/kernal do u use?
I'm using CM7 right now, nightly 24 with Neo 07 (for the led notify and smartass governor). I haven't really had the time to update to the newest nightly nor have I really had the inclination to.
I might be trying miui soon though, seems like something new to work with (kinda getting bored of have the CM7 install process so streamlined for me).

I got it working then installed cm7 and both storages don't work again its like they only work on stock. I've tried 4 different cm7s nitelys and rcs and miui on all of them the storages say unmounted. This never happened before I was running cm7 perfect for a week or two then I tried flashing a new today and a voodoo kernal and now this is happening. I flashed revolution rc1.2 and ever since I've had this problem.

Well, that probably happened because you flashed Revolution from CM7. You cannot do that as they run on different filesystems. Therefore, you will experience problems.
So how do I format the system for cm7

Im currently running MIUI on kernel 2.6.35 and android 2.3.7. Its really laggy so just want to keep trying other roms. Was thinking about looking a ICS passion v13. Its the first ICS rom under vibrant development i cant post a link from my phone. I was wondering if it requires me to compeltly wipe my phone. All i care about is my music. My apss and contacts are backed up so idc but i need to know if i have to backup my music or not. if not itd save me 3 hours of wasting time. Lol
Sent from my T959 using xda premium
No. to go clean to ics just need to factory reset which wipes apps and some user data. Maybe format system to be thorough. But won't touch your SD card.
Though when flashing all roms there's always a small small chance if something goes wrong SD card gets wiped. I'd rec backup SD card when you have time just in case.

Thanks will do.
Samsung T959
MIUI 2.3.7
kernel 2.6.35
You might be able to flash ICS Passion over MIUI and keep all your music, but it's best to play it safe.
I have just come from MIUI and did as trailblazerz11 suggested - clean wipe, format and install. No issues with the ROM except that GPS no longer works. It fixed my mute/unmute problem, though.

If you have cleaned dalvik/cache/format system/wipedata/flashedpassionv13/let settle for 15 min/ reboot recovery/ flash v13cleanup patch/let settle for 8min/ ~and gps still doesn't work~ try flashing this zip thru Clockworkmod. Download zip/REMEMBER the download directory/Reboot to clockworkmod recovery/ goto install zip from sdcard/ find the directory/ flash the zip/reboot system/VOILA! Check lock-on gps in AngryGps. All results are different but with a clear view to the sky with in a minute or 2 you should get a lock for your cold start.
Thanks for the info. I did as you suggested and voila - it worked. I went on a short trip in the car and the gps was extremely spotty (locks for 30sec - 2 mins; no lock for 3 - 4 mins, then lock again) but at least I'm getting some gps now. Hopefully I can figure out a way to increase the reliability.
I am on the KA6 modem and am wondering if changing to KB5 might improve things. All the download links to KB5 modems are down, so I can't test this out.

Check out this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497482). Mostdef put them in an upload. Make sure you use ICS ones though.
Hey BoiBundy, where can I find "flash v13cleanup patch"? I tried the link from the Original thread but it takes me to a site where the link no longer exists. Do you have the zip file you can share?
Thanks
