Bro, Get root explorer app,If you go into /System/Media there should be a Bootanimation.zip file.
Check that there is also bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg. If they are present then delete the Bootanimation.zip and reboot your phone. U r Done
Hope this helps!
There is an app on market by Hellcatdroid the creator of Hellcat kernel which supports bootanimations. Download that and choose what you want. Or romtoolbox and choose whatever bootanimation you want

Hi, thank you for the awesome bootanimation. It was truly much awaited. Can we have a video of your phone booting up with this animation?
Thanks!!
P.S. : This is the bootanimation from Nexus Prime right? I don't think it would be right to call it "Android 4.0 bootanimation".

Until now I use the ''without xperia'' boot animation with colorful X animation ... from now I use this one. F*kin amazing one
PS: If you edit the animation and remove the last black frame from it you can make it infinity - endless loop
I edit mine and its amazing now
It works great and looks great thanks man
(I'm new to replacing boot animations so forgive me if this is a stupid question...)
I'd like to use this on my Kindle Fire, no chance we could get a higher res version, is there? (Optimally 1024x600).

Hi members,
I know that there are ways to change the boot-animation, but I after I saw the complete Google Nexus boot up I liked It pretty much.
I already got the Nexus animation boot-up but I also want to replace the "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100" logo for the Nexus "Google" logo.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.
Just swap the boot logo png, it's in the same folder as the boot animation (system/media I THINK)

First one
bootanimation.zip
Of course youre phone needs to be rooted.
Then you take youre bootanimation, often "Bootanimation.zip"
Use for example "Root Explorer" app, that have superuser rights to
youre phone system. "R.E" is like "Windows Explorer" for rooted phones
When you use "R.E" to be able to copy and paste systemfiles, you need to
"Mount RW", Read-Write.
Copy the Bootanimation.zip, and paste it in youre phones filesystem,
/data/local/bootanimation.zip
A good indication youre in right folder, is that some "temp" file is also there.
Reboot phone, and voila!
Good luck man
PS!
A very good post is here

I will keep this post updated and tell you guys if it worked or not.
from my experience you have to use a non stock kernel as stock kernels dont allow you to change the boot animation .. I may be wrong?
I am already using a costum kernel as you need to have a rooted device to actually change the boot-logo.
Btw, it works like a charm.
Thanks for the help you guys.

How to change boot animation? The easy way:
1. Download any custom CWM flashable boot animation zip here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410490&highlight=bootanimation
2. Boot to CWM recovery
3. Flash the boot animation zip you downloaded in 1. Just like normal zip
4. Reboot phone
Done.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Well like said in the post above^ flash as zip, or you place the zip in system/media and if it didn't work then try putting it in data/local

Are you sure that you have a custom kernel? In any case, I advise you to backup the bootanimation file, not delete it.
You just need to add the .bak extension to the original file. For example: bootanimation.zip.bak or in your case samsung.qmg.bak
Copy the new file into system/media or data/local as has been indicated by the other users

Actually i dint change the permission of the bootanimation.zip file ..The permission should be rwxrwxrwx .

Thank you XDA once again and all its members Cheers :good:
Hi All,
I use a rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. I have a stock ROM. I tried changing the boot animation by downloading one through ROM-Toolbox and copied it in system/media using root explorer and renamed it as bootanimation.zip. Also, I deleted bootsamsung.qmg from this location. Still the same old boot animation is displayed.
Please help me fix this.

You're boot animation zip is under system/media..
Just make a backup... then change the boot animation zip name to something else( I just add a one to it) and move it out of system files to a folder where you'll remember it( I make a folder called, the name of the rom I'm running and put stock files behind the name)..
Then put the new boot animation zip in the system/media folder and be sure permissions are correct.
I'll link a zip with cool boot animation's later... I must check with the member to be sure it is alright.

Now select the whole first row and the first box in the second row... that will set it to rw - r - r..... you can also set it to rwx - r - r.. which is just the same selections as before, but you also select the first box in the third row.
Hope this helped... hit me back if you need anything else... have a good day...
