Somebody in the "Share your RAZR screenshots here" thread ask if i could upload my statusbarmod - here it is
Modded by myself and UOT-Kitchen. Just a simple, nice modification.
Included:
- black statusbar background
- custom battery icon which displays in 10% steps
- ICS windows animations (i noticed no change)
Works on stock 651.150.1.Retail.en.EU (leaked android 2.3.6 Version, therefore no carrier) GSM RAZR.
I dont know if it works on other versions. if you test it, please be sure to have CWM on boot and done a backup!
Install:
- Flash zip via CWM or unzip the file and place SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk manually.
have fun

This will only replace the systemUI.apk an framework-res.apk.
i dont know if it will work on your device.
How
How do i do it manually??? Where do i find the files to replace. ?
Thanks
SystemUI.apk @ system/app
framework-res.apk @ system/framework
Permissions like the other files there (i think it was rw/r/r)
does this work on system version 651.167.19.XT910.Retail.en.EU - 2.3.6?
How to manually apply this mod to framework-res.apk because I replaced battery icons from sense with percentage and now is 20% step, I don't want modify status bar and others just need to make 10% steps shows in battery icon.
Thanks in advance
it will be working on 2.3.6?

I can tell it's not working for me. I'm on stock 2.3.6 651.167.19.XT910.Retail.en.EU
I tried to install it manually, but the phone goes bootloop every time.
As the possibility to remove carrier name was what I was the most interest into (my carrier name is 2 words long!), I had to choose another MOD which is also offering status bar toggles... but no battery percentage in the status bar
This can also be done pretty easily using the rom toolbox app. I think I made the mistake of not backing up the original icons and such, which became an issue when trying to update to .181.

Hi!
Great Thanks for your Theme, it really looks nice and works fine for me.
Im running 2.34 Rom with deodexed and Jit Files right like the guide of Sorensiim.
I only have a few questions and small issues now...
Is it possible to merge this framework with another one, id take the original european one, so there will be more regions chooseable, especially Germany.
What files do i have to replace in the original 2.34 euro framework-res?
only the drawable folders? color folder?
The 2nd issue i have is the display style of the service provider name....in your screenshot its quite big and bright white, mine is small and grey...as you can see at my attached screenshot.
Everything else works fine, also the white text that shows up e.g. when installing something.
Ill attach the euro framework-res, as you can see its a lot bigger than yours, i think thats the missing region support. Perhaps anyone else also wants to try merging these two.
Update:
My tries to merge the two frameworks didnt really have great success...
I always copied the files from the sense framework into the original framework using winrar.
It always worked, but not everything was as it should be:
on the first try i only replaced the folders up to the last drawable one.....
The result was black text instead of white in the notification bar.
2nd try was to copy and replace everything except the resources.arsc
The Result was white text in the notification but the menu test when pressing the menu softkey on the homescreen now was black on black.
The display of the service provider as shown in the screenshot never changed.
If any1 has another idea, let me know....
Until then, ill live without having the german region and some minimal rests of english interface.
Hi Bihariel, can you tell me if its possible to uninstall this theme?. Or can I make a backup of current theme and then apply yours?

i actually prefer blur to sense. blur still seems like its android where with sense it seems to loose that i think
My network signal is still black and so operator name. If there's a way to fix it?
Language is English, but locale set to russian, if this matters.
I installed it via recovery and got a reboot(???) on 1st boot, but now it works ok... gotta reboor it one more time for a check )) framework-res.apk
On a stock there is 5 sticks, and here is 4, when the signal is maximum, it is black. Would you fixed it?
And it is use many power. in powertutor without - 50m, with 1100m
My fimware is 2.34 official
good job nice looking
Working on Chinese froyo ?
Hi,
I prefer the sense jog things and unicolor notification icons over the default ones, however i really dislike the gradient bar. So i have slighlty modified the op's theme: I've put a few icons from gingerbread and fixed the black signal icon issue. The notification bar has also been changed (provider name is now readable).
To install, please first flash signed_sense_defy_fixed (see first post), then push the attached framework-res.apk to /system/framework using adb.
Edit: it seems like every time i update framework-res, the android market FC on me. To fix this issue, just clear market cache and then uninstall the app update (it will be reinstalled automatically from what i can see).
can someone make a zip for the black bar in the rom ORANGE? thanks

Yeah, unpack the posted zip's.... there must be 2 files, framework-res.apk and framework.jar.
The last one you have to copy&paste (root explorer) it into the folder /system/framework/
Then change the permissions of the file to rw-r-r.
After that, copy the framework-res.apk to system first. Correct the permissions of this file, too. (Same here: rw - r - r) your device should reboot automatically, if not, do it
Be careful: these files are only for deodexed systems!
On this way, you have a white clock (services.jar) and a new statusbar (framework-res.apk)

will this work on Official SEA 2.2
will this work on Official SEA 2.2 for Defy? cause in the thread it says that is for stock UK Froyo ?
so i have a stock Defy with Froyo updated on it, rooted and overclocked..
can i just download the status bar file and copy it to phone via Root Explorer or does it have to be flashed with CWR? if so is it one file or two that needs to be copied to it?

You must have a deodexed ROM to change the statusbar.
so changing the ROM is the only way..
I read in other posts saying you must deodex but wasnt for sure if that was built in the rom or was a process you can do as long as the phone is rooted...
i appreciate your response..
Shortly the method:
- root your phone
- install 2ndInit (1.4.2 is suggested)
- find the deodexed update zip for the exact ROM you are using
- apply the deodexed update from Clocwork recovery(which is installed by 2ndInit)
- apply dark statusbar zip
So you have to install first 2ndInit (if you haven't done yet), then find the deodexed update matching your ROM version, and after that you can apply a statusbar update.
in the Settings>About Phone which code am i looking for and should i just Google "deodexed update zip" to find the one to flash from CWR?
i have these that resemble a ROM Version:
System Version: Cersion.34.4.9.MB525.T-Mobile.en.US
Android Version: 2.2.1
Build Number: 3.4.2-107_JDN-9
...
I appreciate all your info, coming from modding the HD2 from WinMo to Android its a bit different modding a native android phone.
would this work from the noob guide from rob-t...
"6) Install JIT/Deodexed: Optional step if you flashed either the 2.21 or 2.34 ROM. If you want to make your phone a bit faster, this is for you. Higgsy's guide is here if you want to do this!"
I think this could be your topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922430&page=24 The build number identifies your exact ROM version, in your case it's 3.4.2-107
I'm not sure if somebody already shared a deodexed update in that topic, maybe you should ask for that.
2.21 and 2.34 is an older version (Eclair), that guide is outdated now.

Check your version. If it is 9.8.20 it'll work.
I'm on system version 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU.
1) extracted services.odex file from OP and put it manually into system/framework folder (changed permissions accordingly to other files) and rebooted
2) cooked a file with uot kitchen and applied manually the files into respective folders (systemUI and freamework-res) then rebooted.
everything works fine, now I have 1% battery with circle indicator

Something is wrong with your setup. Restore from nandroid. If you don't have a backup (why) you should restore settings and systemui apks and odexes.
Then go to kitchen or OGBM.
OGBatteryMod is pretty simple. Connect your phone and press 1 for "Download and mod apps from connected device".
After that flash my mod.
This makes no sense to me. Can you please give a step by step guide on how to use this setup.?

Thanks, working great!
Just wanna share my mod here guys. Ive ported the xt 912 dropdown toggles to our beloved xt 910 gsm razr running stock deodexed 4.1.2 jb (I only tested it on stock deodexed eu jb). Here you go guys:
Include in this systemui mod:
-Two layout toggles (usual toggles and volume sliders)
-White ics signal bar
-Screenlock on notification header
-Internet meter with data usage on bottom of notification panel
-1% battery (replacing the battery icons)
-Some other small mod
Bugs:
-Battery jump (any ideas?)
-I dont edit the systemui for 1% battery, so no charging icon or indicator yet except on lockscreen
-Needs to press toggle (right top toggle) for about 3 times after each boot, unless the clear all button wont work.
Thanks to @alteredlikeness for his wonderful guide for a noob like me to port the toggles here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827046, @artur0588 for his nice sharing and xda which provide great guides and tutorials.

Yes you can if you have a deodexed system, Im running it on stock eu jb. You have to make backup with safestrap before flashing so you can restore your backup anytime you want. Or if you have the original systemui.apk and services.jar please upload them, I can make a restore zip. I dont have it right now.

If you have your device rooted and install safestrap, boot your device and enter safestrap recovery, choose backup. Safestrap will make a backup of your whole system. If you want to restore just choose restore. For deodex, with root explorer go to root/system/app, if you find any files with .odex extension the your system is odexed which means you have to deodex it first to be able to install this. You should read mor at the dev section. There is a good explanation there...
