SO i got HC and love how i can use my Scribe pen to make notes and highlight with in the reader app. But can it not go into landscape mode when in a book? or is it just the books that I have.
It seems strange the all of the UX will work in landscape but as soon as i open any of my books it flips to portriat mode??? I have check all through settings in app and i see no other option to force landscape........am i missing something?
FYI I don't care if its just single column i just want to read with my landscape only case. This thing is too heavy to read with it in portrait with no stand.

Peace RamboDroid,
Since no one was courteous enough to respond (it seems this forum is the worse when it comes to helping someone out)---the answer is no. Thats the only thing I dont like about the Reader app--which look-wise is amazing--especially the widget. But yea..it doesnt go in landscape mode unfortunately
peace

Didn't the scribe pen always work with the Reader app? Even in GB?
Yep

The dev of the app quill resized it correctly for flyer. Pressure sensitivity works great and so does palm rejection. Just thought I'd give the heads up

The pen detection for HTC devices is included in version 6.2 and higher. You can get it on the Android Market or download the apk for free from Google Code
Thanks for your help in debugging/testing!

Is there a preferred way to get in touch with you for more testing?
I currently have both the Flyer and Jetstream. Pen input works on both with pressure sensitivity.
I can't seem to get zooming to work at all.
I have a number of suggestions as well. I had actually been thinking about forking your code to make adjustments

Press the 4-diagonal-arrows icon. Then you can pinch-to-zoom, at least it *should* work ;-)
I do check up on XDA threads; or PM me if you want...

Hi! This method works well. But when I double tap, it zooms just a tiny bit. About 5% is my guess.

Double tap switches between fill screen width and fit everything on screen. If your virtual paper is almost the same as the screen, then the change can be very small. Try e.g. A4 paper and rotate the tablet into landscape, then you'll see a huge change.

Got it. This app is perfect. Just one suggestion- Please enable pinch to zoom in quill/pencil modes so that we can zoom in to write with 2 fingers and drag with one finger. This allows writing to be more neat. at the moment I have to switch between quill and drag mode to and fro.
:: I have also noticed, while the htc note app recognises only 2 pressure levels, quill registers at least 4 different pressure levels.
I applaud the developer for getting the pen response implemented very well. I guess I was expecting more features with all the excitement, but it does what it says well. Not a replacement for the HTC notes app, but a nice little handwritten sticky note app.

Your palm will often trigger single-finger touch events, so we can't use those in the fountain pen / pencil mode.
Its intentional that the 2-finger move gesture while writing doesn't change the zoom - otherwise it is hard to fill a whole page with evenly sized handwriting.

I understand but please give thoughts on enabling an option to enable 2 finger pan and zoom.
pm/email sent.
Great app, would he nice to have the eraser button work on the pen but other than that this is awsome
Just wanted to say that quill is a great app.
Is this working with the View. The market says not compatible and when I try to install the apk I get a Parse Error.
i think it works on HC version, isn't?

I got the same error with the stock gingerbread, you need HC. I still prefer the stock Notes app. Syncing to evernote is brilliant.
Pen input mode?
There are 3 pen input options in v8.1, I tried all 3 but could only get my scribe stylus writing to appear when the "any touch event writes on screen, no gestures" mode is active. This is not so handy because I lose out on the gestures. Anyone get their scribe to work in the other modes? Seems like it should recognize the scribe in all modes!
I'm on wifi-only Flyer with latest HC release.

Maybe a difference with the software or hardware...are you on View or Wifi Flyer? HTC pushed Honeycomb update or did you install a custom/Globatron ROM?
Thanks...
So I was looking for an app with palm rejection for the Transformer Prime. I was kind of looking for something similar to Notetaker HD for the iPad which uses the bezel of the tablet as the palm rejection area.
I couldn't find anything similar on the Android market so I decided to give another try on Supernotes. What I ended up doing was putting a regular computer mouse pad on top of the tablet and using the "Guided Line" feature to make sure that I was on the right spot. So far so good, this is in fact the best solution that I found and works way better than any other app!
However I'm having problems reading my own notes. I can't seem to find a simple Zoom feature on Supernotes, so could someone tell me how to zoom in? If it is not possible, are there other apps that have a similar "guided-line" feature and its as organized as Supernotes.
Thanks a lot!
I am not aware of a way to zoom in SuperNotes either. That has been my biggest problem with it.
Here are some handwriting apps that I have tried on the Transformer Prime that have zoom features that you may want to check out:
LectureNotes: my favorite (so far). Has scroll bars and zoom feature so you can write in the zoomed mode. Has option to enable a "save zone" for palm detection. 3 standard pens, and 12 custom pens that you can configure the size, color, and opacity. Can add multiple layers (overlays) to each page. Can enter text via keyboard. Can add keywords to each page, and search across notebooks for those keywords. Developer is very responsive, and has implemented suggestions and fixes quickly. There is a free trial version (limited # of notebooks and pages), and a paid version.
Writepad Stylus: Very good palm detection. Has zoom mode (can write in zoom mode), and scrolling. 3 standard pens, and 4 custom pens. 4 paper types, but cannot change the pattern size. Can enter text via keyboard, but it's a bit quirky.
Antipaper Notes: No palm detection. Has zoom mode, (can write in zoom mode), and scrolling. 6 pen sizes in 3 colors (15 colors in Pro version). 4 paper patterns, but cannot change the pattern size. No text entry for keyboard. Free and Pro version.
Hope this helps...
Yeah note taking apps on android are really behind ios right now but it seems like things are picking up. Hopefully in few months we will see something comparable to Notability.
Try wearing a glove or long sleeve. Better than carrying around a mouse pad.

Have you tried to enable palm rejection using TouchScreenTune app from the market? It should allow palm rejection support everywhere in all apps.

I think that TouchScreenTune requires your device to be Rooted, correct? I've been holding off rooting my Prime, but this may be a good reason to do so.
Hi, anybody know how to rectify this issue: When you have a message notification (in this case Whatsapp) and you pull down from the top to reply in-notification itself, the keyboard is taking up the whole space and I can't hit the send button and also see what I'm typing. I have to swipe down the keyboard to minize it, then the send button is visible. I tried to reduce the keyboard size (swiftkey) to the smallest and still useless. I'm using Nova launcher if that helps. Thanks in advace.
Anybody?
not really a fix, but use protrait mode instead of landscape.... for some reason landscape does this every time..
When i quick reply, it never goes in whatsapp

Sometimes when I'm playing games in landscape mode and a message comes in, I would prefer the slide down the notification and reply from within right then and there and continue my games. If I would to reply in portrait, I had to quit my game first. What a bummer, oh well....
well thats why i activate "uninterrupted gaming" if or when playing a game XD ... pretty sure its the emui launcher, but havent tested with others
Hello all!
I've seen it somewhat posted throughout the comments here but no thread on it directly. I figure the potential of this this deserves it's own thread and tutorial for those who are coming from Google to try and do exactly this without reading through a few threads.
Anyways:
How to enable Wide View on every app:
Download this app,G8x WideMode.
This puts a new icon in the top bar in the notification shade. If you don't see it, pull down twice and hit the pencil to edit the icons. Find the new one and place it somewhere near the top to keep it close by.
When the dual screen is open, tapping that will force wide screen in every app! There are some limitations:
Intent changes seem to revert the phone back to two separate pages. For instance, the mobile Reddit app Sync closes wide screen if I click any link to an external picture, video or site.
Some apps do f play nice in wide screen due to this, and you can't keep the phone permanently in the mode like a tablet, but it's a great improvement to a great phone idea.
This is super simple so I didn't think pictures were necessary, but let me know if I wasn't clear on anything or if you have problems somewhere!
This is very much appreciated! It works like a charm. It's not the floating dual screen thingy but the toggle buttons that you swipe down from the top. Make sure you add it.
Hey, this app seems to work great! I did have an issue with one app called Steam Link. Steam Link allows you to connect to a computer running Steam and remotely control it from your Android device. When I launch a game and try to use WideMode the Steam Link app refreshes and goes back to a single screen. I would love to be able to play some of my steam games over both screens.
Is there any way to make landscape apps go left/right instead of top/bottom?

I don't understand. couldn't you just auto rotate? you can also use the rotation control app to lock rotation, which helps with wide Mode

auto rotation did not work because some apps are forced landscape/portrait.
I did end up using the rotation control app with the per-app conditions. :good:
Next nice thing would be if some apps would restart at the new resolution, instead of stretching the single-screen app - some apps/games work perfectly, but others don't (and I think they should have a similar resolution compatible because I've used the axon M, which has "dual screen" retained through home with those apps).
On my Tab S7+, if I use Moon+ Reader or any other reading app, the page turns yellow. If I have a YouTube popout video video playing, the page will stay white until I close the window. Does anybody know if there's a way to fix this or is there an app that stays on top of other windows but is smaller than the YouTube window? I know I can use multi-window mode and resize it but it would be nice to just open an app to have vivid stay on. Or, is there a way to enable rotation in Dex? The yellowing doesn't occur in Dex mode but the tablet only works in landscape with Dex.
P.S. If anybody feels like making an app that floats over other apps but is transparent or tiny, that would be great.
