firmware question - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have my x10a rooted and on the 2.3.3 the x10i version. i was just looking at this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733 and there is a version now for the x10a. should i flash my phone to that one or not? Is there a difference between them.
And also. My x10 has been laggy/slow recently and i was wondering how i can my make my phone smoother and faster.
thanks in advance

Has no practical significance for work of the device, X10a or X10i firmfare was flashed.
For improvement of parameters of work of the device it is possible to install one of leading ROM's, for example, ThGo2, v10

how do i do that?

[Q] x10 mini 2.1.1.A.0.6 E10a rogers

Hi, i have a x10 mini from rogers with 2.1.0.a.0.47 firmware and phone says its the latest, but i need 2.1.1.a.0.6 for minicm6 and ive tried searching and all i find are e10i roms or other stuff.
if anyone has had success installing minicm6 on a rogers x10mini, id like to hear how you did it. Thank you
Tried updating from Sony Ericsson PC Companion or just the phone? Because you will need the program to find the update most likely.
Hi Markolic,
try and have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825664.
This shows you how to update your firmware by using a custom flashing tool to flash our X10 min.

e10i
i have seen that flashtool when i was searching the forums but it only provides firmwares for e10i and i have an e10a :S
its really confusing
the more im searching the forums, the more confused i get since everything is for e10i and i have e10a so how can i ever get cm6 if no one seems to have done it
have you found anything yet? just got the same phone and did the SEUS update to the same version you have. now i'm not sure where to go from here.
My guess, at this moment is that you guys have a branded X10 mini...
So your provider has to release you new version of baseband/kerel.
I read about people who change from a x10a to a x10i that were experiencing 3g connection problems. Maybe if you don't use the 3g (like me) you can always change to the x10i. If you're tired of the 3g less cellphone it is still possible to recover it through seus.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

[Q] x10a baseband

Hi Guys,
Done some searching and haven't found an answer to this. My apologies if i have missed it!
I'm a bit of a newb at flashing, i've only flashed stock 2.1 and cyanogen mod 6.5 to my xperia so far. I'm currently on baseband .54 on my xperia x10a. All the gingerbread roms i'm looking at have a baseband of .71. I'm currently looking to flash wolf break's one.
My question is, since i need 850\2100 wcdma for coverage, will flashing this baseband affect that at all? Or do I totally misunderstand basebands?
Many thanks in advance!
Note: my xperia already says it's a x10i (but it's definitely a x10a) in about phone. But i'm just paranoid since i use my phone for work
I'd really appreciate some help if any of you guys know
As far as I know all the frequencies will work.
Hey dude im on x10 with baseband 71 and can tell u it works fine with at and t
Sent from my x10 on official gingerbread http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh19PLNTWwk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Excellent, thanks guys. i suspected as much, but wanted to be sure I know At&t phones work fine on my network, so should be no issues

[Q] Help! What is the right 2.1 firmware versions of X10i in Asia? Philippines.

Hi, I need help with my X10i. My Dad sent me my X10i from Dubai here in the Philippines w/ 2.1 version. I tried upgrading it to 2.3 and it was successful but I didn't liked it. So I downgraded back to 2.1 only to find out I installed X10a model number instead of X10i. And now, I couldn't enable and connect to Wifi. I used Flash Tool in downgrading. Can you help me by sending to correct 2.1 firmware version of X10i here in the PH?
Hoping for your immediate response. Thank you.
as far as i know flashing any version would not stop wifi from working..
nyways you can flash the global generic versions from this forum..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746&highlight=flashtool
there are two versiions of 2.1 one for x10i and x10a....
u can use flash x10i and flash it..
hope it helps..

[Q] help to update an x10a (rom & baseband)

hi i see others guides about update an x10a, but they aren´t good. So i need somebady to explain or know a link about updating an x10a.
Somepeople says there is no problem updating an x10a with x10i rom, but others think diferent and i don´t want to terminate my phone.
Thanks in advance, your assistance will be apreciated
Have no fear running X10i rom on X10a phone. The XDA development forum is full of excellent posts. I am using X10i rom on an X10a phone with no problems. The main thing to remember is something I read by one of the developers, "you are only as good as your last backup." Enjoy!

[Q] x10a 2.3 Firmware link

Okay, I have gathered how to update my x10a to 2.3 and since I was able to take the AT&T branded one and put 2.1 on it before I feel confident that I can update it to 2.3. However, the problem is that on multiple computers and multiple browsers I can not find a working link for any of the firmware downloads specifically for the x10a. I have even tried for the x10i since I know that will still work as well. Can anyone help me with finding a working link for the 2.3 x10a firmware?
Thank you!
