More information is needed as to "default wallpaper and layout" ? as CM7 for Wildfire originally has a Theme Manager supplied with a few themes for you to change it. For more information on choosing the right theme or applying your desired themer, you may refer to this link:

No theme can change the layout of your phone. Initially, I was under the impression (and still am) that the themes cannot change your wallpaper as well, but there are a few posts which state that themes can change the wallpaper. (Yet to see it myself though - But, I am very sure on the layout part)
Besides, theme choosers use a lot of 3rd party apps like clock / weather widgets, minimalistic text etc to get their desired layout that best suits the theme. If you don't have these installed, how can it work?
Hey Thank you Xeno for your reply...
What you said makes sense...
But the question I would want to ask if, if a theme is download on the phone... Is it not supposed to load the wallpapers, clock, calender, etc. on it own?
I am sorry, I might sound to be a dumb A** but am new here and EAGER to learn.
I purchased a few themes thinking they would be fully loaded but to my surprise they werent.
For E.g.:
I Purchased the MattedBlues LauncherPro Theme from the market.
A pop-up came saying 'Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your devices screen size'.
From what I have read, I selected CONTINUE ANYWAY and Rebooted!
And all it changed was just the COLOR for Icons. Rest all remained the same, I mean the wallpaper, layout, icons...
Is there is a beginners guide I need to refer to for CM7?
Thank you in advance Buddy...
It's a LP theme buddy. If you needed the entire thing, you should have purchased the Theme Chooser Theme for CM7 (Which I have - And, it's fantastic, may I add ). And no, no theme can change the layout as I said before. Different themes theme a different number of elements, so again, your mileage may vary.
For the MB Theme, it is the colour that is the main appeal. They follow the stock look, but change the colour. It can be seen in the screenshots as well.
One last thing - Most of the theming stuff are for HDPI Phones, infact, the MB LP Theme explicitly says no MDPI version, and the Wildfire is LDPI. So, one's mileage with theming stuff will vary a lot between themes.
Basic Ready Reckoner: (What I have stated below are the "best case scenario". Some themes may change one or more elements)
- LP / ADW Themes changes the icons, the launcher specific widgets, and the wallpaper
- CM7 Themes changes the entire UI essentially - Menus, Status Bar, Default Widgets, Icons, Dialer etc. It cannot theme elements like the Lockscreen, some system menus etc

Now that the X10 Mini has been rooted, can someone make an HTC Desire theme, with icons and wallpaper?
I have tried Pandahome, aHome, xHome etc but none of them change the icons, they only change the Settings and Internet icons.
There is adw launcher in market and different themes, which have different icons.

Well, I tried ADW but it did not theme the icons.
You dont need root to change the icons and wallpaper.
Wallpaper i guess you know already.
To change the Icons you need Bettercut and preferably Open Home from the same developer.
You will need a Market enabler if you are not able to buy apps currently to see those apps cause i believe both are pay-apps.
And I'm asking again.
I rooted the phone and still theming is nowhere.
aHome, PandaHome, xHome, BetterCut, ADW Launcher DO NOT WORK. They only theme the YouTube, Browser and Settings icons. Can I do something else? As I said, I've already rooted the phone so I can do anything you want me to.
ADW launcher v. 1.1.3 have a sweet option for custom shortcuts.
It let you create a shortcut on the homescreen, and let you choose a custom name and picture for the icon.
it works great for giving your homescreen a special look

You are talking about changing the icon inside the App-Drawer? Then i agree , you can't change them with the launchers and so on. ADW.Launcher does theme more of them thant you are describing. Probably all icons , BUT it is the icon pack that must have the appropriate icons for the apps you want to have themed. I am just now running the Sticker pack for ADW and there are a lot more themed icons.
Bettercut and so on can only (as far as i know) theme them when you make a shortcut on one of your homescreens.
Whatever this has to do with a Desire theme though i have no idea.
Some themes on MiniCM7 ROM change the color of certain icons, like system apps and certain market apps. This is immensely annoying, and since the theme doesn't have custom color icons for EVERY program, it just makes everythinhg look like ****. For example, I found a nice black and white theme in the market, but it also makes certain icons black and white, this combined with other icons that remain colorful, makes the whole thing look like a mess. It's just a stupid idea if you ask me. Who doesn't have at least a couple of "odd" programs that aren't skinned by the theme?
I wish there was some way to disable custom theme icons in MiniCM7.
Is there some way to do so?
I wish there was some way to make them ALL neochrome..
ADW Settings/Themes Perferences/ "Use Theme Icons" (uncheck)
I'm new to CM7, and I'm looking to try out some themes. One thing that I'm confused about is which category of theme I need and what the differences are.
So, I'm looking to change some of the base colors of the UI, such as that of the dialer, overscroll glows, default colors of sliders, etc...
I'm also running LauncherPro on top of CM7 (on an Atrix, if it matters).
Should I be looking at a CM7 theme or a LauncherPro theme? And what's the difference?

CM7 themes will change the UI of the phone itself... status bar, noticications backgrounds, buttons, etc... LP themes will change only things in launcher pro like widgets colors/backgrounds, icons on the launcher, etc.

Ah, now I understand. Thanks!
Using matching themes for both, i.e. ICS for both CM7 and LauncherPro, makes the cleanest looking interface.
If you want one of the best themes in my opinion for CM7 Theme Chooser check out Lunar UI. It also has ADW Ex/ Go Launcher and Launcher Pro versions.

Seriously one of the best out there.
I was also confused between these two types of themes. Thanks for clearing that up!

How to change icons in app drawer without any launcher i am using x10 MP and ROM CM7 2.1.7, also please give some links for transparent themes like CRYSTAL....
The only way to change the icons in the app drawer is to theme each individual app and change the relevant .png file. It's a bit tedious and really only works on system apps.
I'm not sure that's actually what you want to do since you mention not having any launcher. The launcher is the app that gives you the app drawer. If you haven't got one on your phone, the only way you can run any apps is by connecting is by using a PC interface.
I'm guess what you want to do is the change the appearance of the icons on the home screen of the stock SE launcher. That's the screen with the four selectable areas in each corner. If that's what you're after then you're out of luck. Only third-party launchers (like ADW, Go, Zeam, etc) offer the ability to theme the icons on the home screen.
Transparent status bar
yes i better move to MIUI launcher....im using CM7...i have heard many things about making status bar transparent....is there any simple way to patch this....
That depends what you mean by simple..lol
In CM7 there may be an option in the settings app to do that. I don't know if there is or not as I'm using a CM7 port.
Otherwise, you need to modify the statusbar_background.9.png file inside the SystemUI.apk. Change that to transparent, but make sure not to change the pixel thick border or you'll get all sorts of problems, and that will do it.
This also depends on your launcher as some just won't accept a transparent statusbar at all.
LOL
i liked the miui launcher....but now i notice there is no miui launcher for CM7....and for the transparent status bar....let it go....something new will come up im enough happy with the CM7 rom itself....i removed all built in themes...no use for the colours inside just the desktop itself is lovely with widgets and APW....thanks for everything bro
You can get a semi-transparent status bar in Flame.GDX ICS ROM. As for a launcher? Id recommend 360 Launcher.

You have to install theme manager.Search google Theme Manager t-mobile flash download zip, flash through CWM and install every APK theme file you want!
Seems this has been asked before and no one has answered. Yes icons on the home screen/dock can be changed easy. But the icons in the dock are not so easy. When I download a custom theme for cm7 like stygian black fade, it changes about half of the icons (like handcent), so I know it can be done. I'm using ADW EX and a cm7 kang. I cant find any good guilds on how to make a theme similar to stygians black fade. Editing the original program .apk is not an option as many don't allow it. Creating a folder is also not an option, its just avoiding the issue which can be fixed.
