I would say Yes, but do this first.... Charge all the way to 100% when your in the rom. Unplug.. turn off the phone completely... plug in the charger again... wait for the charging light to turn green, than wipe battery stats and use it....
Thanks for all your input... !
Don't use this s*** from ebay. Get a normal product from a quality brand.

the batteries from mugen are 1950 and 3600mAh, but yeah not much of a difference between the 1730 to 1950
Has anyone found a good alternative for battery replacement on this phone? I just got the arcsoft 2010 Mah and it seems to drain faster than the original! Only had it a day now and have not let it do a complete cycle, not even sure that is necessary. More input would be appreciated.

I had the same issue! And it gets worse, after about 2 weeks it will make your phone act all weird, random restarts, gps not working, really bad stuff. Took it out and put the old one back in and had no issues.
I'm thinking of trying this

I use the ferocitymobile.com ones they work well and come with a stand alone charger.
I never uploaded the final pics. Here they are this is pretty much daily moderate use. Using stock kernel and the lovely energy ROM. I use to have to carry 2 batteries to make it through my 8 hours at work.

Appreciate the input but please only vote if you've used both.
I doubt many people will have both brands, since they are basically the same. Maybe there will be some one with both who chimes in though. From everything I have read, they are both legit 1900mah batteries so they should both perform identical.....
That said, i bought the Anker batteries since they were a couple dollars cheaper. I couldn't be happier and get minimum 2-4 extra hours over stock per charge

I have the chichitecs...lost one, and ordered two ankers. Should be waiting for me at home when i get back from vacation (jersey shore in the house).. will post up a review once I've had a couple charges on em..
Haven't tried the Anker's but I was pleasantly surprised by the Chichitecs. They last noticeably longer than stock and it was only $30 for two of them plus the wall charger on Amazon

Is there any standard sized extended batteries out there that don't change the form factor of the phone but give more juice?
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...d-battery-for-atandt-samsung-galaxy-s-ii.html
I believe you can find it on amazon for cheaper.
There is one by Hyperion on Amazon. 1800 mAh but I can't comment on how good it actually is
Thanks for the speedy responses. I'll look into those
Make sure to report back how it works. The hyperion one mentioned above is not supposed to cause the boot loop problem.

Make sure it's the i777 one, they just released it and like mentioned above its supposed to remedy the boot loop issue that the i9100 caused.
Good info, ill order one and check it out too
I just received my hyperion battery today and I can say its just a Lil bit lighter and thinner then the original battery. Out of curiosity are we suppose to drain these battery first because I just put it in my phone and charged it.

Hey! Mugen Power has a OEM sized extended battery for AT&T SGS2
1800mAh man
Also they have a super-big one: 3200mAh
The actual answer is no.

Normally for one model they have the standard size with extend capacity and another super size with 2-3 times capacity of the standard one. I have tried HTC Sensation's extended battery, works great on my HTC.
Hope you can find what you need. Besides, they ship to all over the world for free!

The HTC Sensation is a special case because it shares batteries with the Evo 3D, but other phones either you're buying something with the same capacity as the stock battery, or less.
If OEMs could make a battery with more capacity in the same space, we have to ask ourselves, why wouldn't they do it?
Exactly... The amount of money they spend on the battery technology alone is crazy. In the old days before smart phones motorola lived and bashed on good battery life... It was the selling point for phones... Until smart phones. But in my opinion it's even more important
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA App
Its difficult to quantify battery life as its so subjective to actual use/ user habits.
That said, battery technology is pretty good and consistent. You can only get so much "juice" in a battery given its size.
samsung made a 2000 mAh for the euro galaxy s 2, it ads just a little bit of thickness
I would agree with the claims that battery life is nearly impossible to extend but I personally really noticed how much battery life went up with my Inspire when I tried going back to the OEM battery with my normal daily use I'd do with the extended battery. It was incredible what a difference a few hundred mAh make
Sent from my Samsung GT-I9100
It'd be hella nice to get a 2000 mAh battery with NFC support for less than $40.

But i can literally get 2+ days of moderate use if I tried. I just tend to be on my phone a lot (dling roms, flashing, Googling) and with this battery I can do all that on the go and not have to worry about charging in car or at friends place. And this isn't even the largest mah battery they sell. They have a 4000mah cell that's just as big as this and would be a monster

What ROM and kernel are you using? I've gotten better life with some of the ROM's I've flashed, but nowhere near what you are reporting, even with an extended battery.
This is the only battery I would use.
ALL of the aftermarket batteries are at 3.7v - and use lithium polymer - while the 3d requires a battery at 3.8. Another thing is the 6.57Whr rating which I HIGHLY doubt these aftermarket)read: cheap) batteries can provide...especially since the spec isnt listed on the retail sites Ive visited.
Always go official.

Two OEM batteries are better than one huge, cheap extended battery. The devices aren't intended to run on a huge battery and recharging a large capacity battery in the phone is not ideal, technically.
But the aftermarket batteries will always use lower quality materials and worse craftsmanship than OEM.

And I can also guess your batt temp without looking at your phone. It says its at a constant 25 degrees?
the widget doesn't read them right. I have the same battery, after stress tests I get 2 to 2 1/2 hrs more, doubt a 1700mah battery is going to last that much longer over a 1730mah battery.
I was just about to post a similar question but then saw this so I'll ask here.
I'm looking to get a new battery as well but don't want one of the bigger ones with a new cover.
It doesn't have to last all that much longer then the stock one cause a can just carry both with me, but I don't want to spend a lot and get some off brand thats going to die on me. So I would just like some opinions from people that have bought one , what brand, how much it was and how it worked out for them?
TIA for any replies.

Hello people of xda, I have made a search on our forums but I couldn't find something similar, maybe I didn't make a good search. So if it is a double-post please forgive me.
My battery is draining too fast, sometimes I have to charge it two times in a day. I formatted the phone many times, I tried different roms and kernels but that wasn't the problem. I am thinking to buy a new battery for my Evo 3D GSM model. Which battery would you suggest me, an extended or an original battery? (for extended I prefer slim without the big back cover) Will I have problems with compatibility with the extended battery? If you could link me batteries too it will be helpful. Any thought will be good. Thanks in advance.
You have 3 choices if you don't want to change battery cover. For extended battery there is 1900mAh or 2450mAh "gold battery". Or you can get a stock replacement, because it sounds like your battery is bad.
