Hi everyone. I recently installed MIUI Music App and i really like it, but i'm having an issue with it. I keep losing my album art in the application. I have to keep downloading it and reinstalling the art work. i use cover art downloader, which is awesome, and i have even saved the artwork to my sd card, but it still keeps disappearing and it's driving me crazy. i was using lithium music player and did not have this issue, but i love the simplicity of the MIUI Music Player. any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
Go on the MIUI players settings there are some which have to do with cover art, try and see if any of those you might've messed with or it came like that is doing it? because MIUI auto- downloads cover arts even if their still there, so turn it off or something.
Mine keeps force closing on me whenever I try to view my music by album. It will show the wrong album names next to the album covers, and then it shows the wrong songs in that album, followed by a force close. Works fine if you view by all songs. Just wondering if anyone else is having any issues, or if it could possibly be my SD card.
I haven't had this problem yet. Did you try clearing the data? Settings - Applications - Manage Applications, then click the All tab, go to music and hit Clear Data

I need to make a slight correction. It force closes when I view by artist and then choose an album. I'll try clearing the data now. Thanks for the suggestion.

I get the exact same force close. I have done a factory reset, and a few various other things. I have just determined that the music app is buggy at this time, and I've been using the Google music beta in the meantime.

i actually have had issues with reboots while playing music. very weird, but using power amp has fixed it.
This happens to me with the HTC player, Double Twist and Winamp. It basically skips songs, randomly stops the music, when I shut the screen off it would stop the htc player and winamp would play. There's so many weird things happening, and they all affect the music.

Google Music is AWESOMENESS!!!
I had this problem. I downloaded mp3tag on my PC. Click on file>add directory and add your music folder. After your music loads, scroll right to the "codec" heading, and click on the heading to sort by codec. I am not sure what codecs htc's player supports, but I deleted anything that wasn't "MPEG 1 Layer III" (mp3 is actually an abbreviation for this codec). This solved all of the problems you mentioned for me.

Hi guys, long time listener, first time poster.
I thought I would share my experience with the music app. I'm also having issues, but it only seems to be buggy when my aux cable is plugged from the headphone jack to the car. The music will skip as if I'm fast forwarding through the track and will eventually start skipping whole songs. I've also noticed when the phone goes into the lock screen, the music widget that appears has both the "play" and "forward" buttons highlighted as if I'm pressing them. Clearly I'm not pressing them. It also bugs out with Google Music Beta, though the app doesn't have a lock screen widget, yet. I have yet to try other music apps beside the two I mentioned. I will report back with any findings.
Thanks for having me.
After a couple days of searching and reading, looks like it's a bug with the headphone jack. The phone is reading headphones/aux cable as a control device. The Nexus One, Incredible and a few other phones had this issue when they launched. mrjkwik has posted a link to a fix in another thread, but here it is again.

Works for me so far, until HTC can roll out another update. Hopefully they do soon. The link to the market is for a widget, so place it on one of your home screens and make sure it's on before listening to music.
Anyone else getting constant random force close in the Stock Music app, as well as other music apps such as ultimate theater? I have used manage applications to clear cache and that did not seem to help. Is this just a 3.1 thing? My Asus seemed to do it too. Also my ipod has same files so assume its not a file corruption or playlist issue. I can play music, but if it sits on the playlist or album view too long, itll force close/report.
Thoughts or others in this boat?

So, in case others run into this issue.... Here is what has seemed to fix it.
1) open settings, manage applications, and choose the all tab.
2) find Media Storage, Music, amd any other music/media app you may be using.
3) on each one select the option to clear your cache/storage data.
4) reboot and open each media app. It may take a while but they should eventually auto locate your media files.
This seems to have resolved my issue. I found lots of similar forum threads beyond xda, but most were phones and didnt seem to drive to a resolution. I think my issue was i used mybackuppro and restored playlists i had on my Asus Transformer, but whem i used iSyncr to bring in my itunes playlists it created duplicates. 1 with faulty file locations and the other with the GT locations. Since my Asus TF had external sd card through the mnt/removable path, those playlist would never work on the GT.
I hope this helps someone. Whem Google searched 'honeycomb music app force closing' i got alout of results on their new cloud music service. So that was no help at all. Lol

Hi all...am facing a strange problem.
After updating to 2.3.3, the music app fails to read the embedded album art in all my music files. But the album art is displayed perfectly by all other players like MixZing. What's wrong? I tried removing and re-transferring the semcmusic.apk and mediaprovider.apk files, but no effect. I have also tried clearing the app data but nothing seems to work.
I am really liking the new music app by SE - but without the album art, it looks all bland. Any suggestions?
I'm facing the same issue here in stock 2.3.3 music player.
I tried the ubermusic, but, unlike you, the problem persists...
I'm really waiting for sugestions.
try going into applications and look for media storage and clear data. This will remove all your songs from the music player until your device re-scans your sd card.
After that you can download and app like album art grabber for free and it will get the album art for most if not all of your songs.
Thx ..i was really confused ..trying diff music players so as to get album art.. u have solved my problem thx...
Worked for me...thanks!
clear media storage helped me too thanks!
I tried media grabber and iTag ...and it works fine for me...thanks for the tip...

Thanks! Did the trick.
Did a forced re-scan thru ÜberMusic app and the pics came back.
(I always have album art manually inserted.)
Perhaps its not a problem in mofs rom specifically but for those are you who are using blur music, i have a question. When i first started using it it would properly download all artists artwork and album info. One day it just erased it all except for a few artists for no reason. Tried wiping albums cache and data, deleting the album art folder, etc but to no avail. Anyone else experience this and find a fix? Thanks
