I have a s 2 i flashed a Lightening rom XWEK7 and it worked fine all day until a hour ago when my phone froze and restarted it self and now it wont recognize being plugged in it will go into download mode on the phone but still wont come up on the computer end. And is currently not going past the screen that says " Samsung Galaxy S 2 GT - 19100 and the yellow triangle at the bottom.
Need help ASAP as is my work phone.
The main thing is you can get into download mode. Get stock firmware from here if your carrier is listed, if not get country specific firmware here and flash that in Odin.
Edit - I just re-read your post & realised your PC won't recognise your phone. Uninstall/reinstall Kies so you have the drivers in place for Odin to recognise the phone (drivers might be corrupt ?). Make sure you kill off Kies in task manager before you attempt to flash stock firmware in Odin. If you find the PC still won't recognise your phone try a different USB cable/different USB ports (I know there's only one port on my laptop Odin works on), failing that try a different PC/different version of Windoze. And if all that doesn't work, you might want to try Heimdall. Search the forum, plenty of posts on how to use it (never used it myself so I can't guide you in the use of same).

Alright, so I feel like a huge noob :| but i Boot Looped my Samsung Galaxy SII, I was trying to flash a new ROM but they kept failing, and I didn't do a backup the second time I formatted my phone (after restoring it from the first time I BLed it tonight). Also, I've seen on a few threads that I can do the Down Volume + Power to go to the downloader screen and then go to ODIN and flash a stock ROM but i cannot get my phone and ODIN to connect to each other (I made sure I had all KIES programs closed via task manager and that it connects via Device Manager).
Any Advice???
Update: Alright, after downloading like 2 different versions of ODIN I finally got it to connect!!!! But now I'm stuck, I cannot find a rom thats a .tar nor the stock rom for my phone (samsung galaxy s II I9100 sprint) and yes, i have looked on the thread where it has all the stock roms.
advise?
Stuff to try when Odin doesn't work (PC/phone don't recognise each other):-
*Must run Odin as administrator in Windoze.
*Ensure Kies & it's processes aren't running in Windoze task manager. Kill them if they are.
*Try different USB ports; you must be using a 'powered' or mainboard port.
*Try different USB cables (particularly the cable that came with the phone if you're not using it now)
*Try different versions of Odin (search on here/Google)
*Uninstall Kies, reboot, redownload & reinstall it, reboot, try the flash again.
*Check the rom/kernel you download for corruption. Programs like 7Zip, IZarc, WinRar, etc will allow you to 'test' the rom file you download. If there are any errors/any of the files fail the test, bad download. Try again/try downloading with a different internet connection if it keeps happening.
*Run Windoze Update.
Try everything on this list if necessary. And if all this fails, try a different PC. If the different PC doesn't work first try, go thru as many of the above steps as you need to with the 2nd PC. If that still doesn't work, either user error or possibly HW problem with phone.

@Sejk97 Hahahaha ;-) Classic.
I've tried almost all of those and nothing....if none work any ideas on what to do???
And to the guy above me with the huge font :| i did all 8 steps 3 times before I ever thought about posting this :|
Or simply be connected to internet when you plug your phone in Odin mode. Specially if windows 7, it will install some drivers and will work after that
@atifsh I'm always connected to the internet, no go :\
@MistahBungle I tested both the different ROMs and they both tested fine
If you've tried all those steps with one PC & it's a no go, you'll need to try a different PC as per my post. Again, if still no go with the 2nd PC, who knows ? Could be anything.
Edit to add - If you've tried 'almost all of those', you need to try the things you haven't tried yet (almost all isn't all).

Sprint user means you are in the wrong place, and have been flashing the wrong firmware to your Epic 4G Touch, aka SPH-D710. (look on the label under your battery) That's a totally different phone from an I9100. Your boot screen reads I9100 because you've been flashing I9100 firmwares.
I'd advise you to go to the Epic 4G Touch forums for help.

If the problem still persists, then explain in depth as to what you did . Hope This Helped
I've followed the guide several times, but i can't get my device connected to odin. here is what i do: delete samsung kies, install odin, install the samsung drivers, put my phone in download mode connect it. (i have also tried to connect it and then download mode etc.).
Two things come to mind. One, the phone is borked & is a service centre job. Two, you're doing something wrong, but as we're not there with you looking over your shoulder, it's going to be nigh on impossible for anyone here to say exactly what that is.
Given you say you've tried 'everything' (and you have listed everything I normally tell people to do when they can't get their PC/Odin to recognise the phone), I don't know of any other options that anyone here can give you.
If it were me, I'd persevere & keep trying to get Odin to recognise the phone for a bit. I know you've tried different PC's, try some more. Again, I understand you've tried different USB cables, try others. There is no magic fix here.
Then I'd bite the bullet & send it into Samsung. If they end up wanting to charge you for the repair, consider having it JTAG'd. Will probably end up cheaper.

Why did you delete kies? :O . Just close the processes of kies at the time of starting odin.

Your post gave me a thought Krishnadusad. OP, I realise you manually installed drivers after you removed Kies from your PC which would normally work just fine 999 times out of 1000. However...Given nothing else is working, download a fresh copy of Kies from Samsung's website, reboot, install it, reboot again.
Then try Odin again, and check Windoze task manager & make sure you end task on Kies or any related processes.
Worth a shot I figure.
Install kies again and charge your mobile. Then download the stack rom from sam firmware. Beware. I suggest you flash the 4.0.3 as the 4.0.4 has brick bug. Then boot into download mode and flash the stck rom. You may want to check out the how to threads.

hello guys,
thanks for your help. But i wasn't able to flash so i brought it to the store, samsung is fixing it. I hope it isn't to expensive!
When you are in download mode - you are not bricked and it's 100% chance to restore your phone to full funcionality. Just read some FAQs next time

you did not try to go into recovery mode(volumeup-HOME-powerbutton) and wipe?
Hello all, I have a GS3 international GT-I9300
I'll try to go through the story as fast as I can and give as much detail so you guys can understand how I got here.
Bought the phone unlocked, I was stock, I rooted and then I decided to install a new ROM. I went with Resurrection Remix, it was working great. I did this on a desktop back home. They released a new update to RR so I did a OTA update with "Update Me" apparently the thing flashed but it didn't, the phone still worked but NFC wasn't working as well as having lost root access and some other stuff wasn't working correctly, but I lived with it.
I moved to Florida (home is in NY) and I have a laptop with me, for some reason my laptop used to be able to transfer files to my S3, but it wasn't doing it any more after a while. So it would just charge it. I was in a hotel room last week trying to tether via USB but the PC wasnt having it, it could not locate the phone. This week I moved to a different hotel with internet and decided I would flash stock on my S3 to get rid of all these bugs and get root again, I tried flashing stock through recovery and it wasn't going, so I tried flashing RR again (this time downloaded from the site RR site) and it worked. Still no USB connection but I had root back. I looked around my PC and apparently the Samsung drives are not installing or something on my PC. I installed Kies, but nothing, I tried a stand alone driver install and nothing, so I just gave up and bought Mobile Odin pro from Gplay to try to flash again.
Mobile Odin for some reason (I blame it on myself) wasn't finding/flashing stock so again I decided to try and flash RR and see what would happen. It flashed RR and turned on fine. Then I just decided to look for an NFC fix on XDA. Once I found my NFC fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32029713&postcount=8367) I decided to just copy the files to the system folder, NFC still not working, rebooted and NFC still no working, so I figured I would try to flash the fix through mobile odin seeing as how I can't get my PC to pick up on the USB. I tried flashing but MO just kept bouncing it back and re-booting into RR. Tried again and no flash. So I decided to again try and flash stock. I tried going into Recovery, the phone shut off like it always does, came back on but stayed in the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 logo and would not move. I shut it off again, tried turning it on again and still stuck on the galaxy logo. Now, if I leave the phone off and plug in the USB, it won't show the battery charging image, it will actually turn straight onto the galaxy logo again and stay there. I can get the phone into download mode, but like I said my pc won't recognize the drivers.
Now, here are my questions:
What happened?
Can this be fixed?
Am I an idiot?
If I can get the drivers installed on another PC as well as Odin (1.85), will the new PC "see" the S3 or are the drivers on the phone deleted as well? (if that sort of thing can happen, idk.)
I'm going to see if I can borrow a buddy's PC and download the drivers as well as odin to try and bring my S3 back to life, I just want to know, what happens if I can't get the other PC to pick it up ether because the drivers on the phone are deleted (if that's a thing) or what I can expect if it is connected.
What are the steps or guides to follow here? I just got it into Download mode and it says on the top of the screen:
ODIN MODE
Product name: GT-I9300
Custom Binary Download: Yes (2 counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
sorry , i am sometime getting headache reading long english text so i just briefly look over.
your PC doesn't recognize your S3 ? is that correct ? hmmm , is it possible that your PC (Microsoft Windows I assume?) system is damaged due to something like virus or some reasons ? i have encountered that kinda problem before and be OK after i reinstalled the system.
If it's a soft brick, then it can defiantly be fixed. You might, however, lose your data along the process.
Be glad it's not hard bricked
It happened to me many times, USB error "unknown device" connected. Only fix for it was reinstalling Windows so better if you can use different PC or laptop. Install Kies and other USB drivers. Restart computer, download and run Odin v 3.0x. Flash your phone.
If this doesn't work then maybe your phone have a problem with USB port?

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try to fix tit today, I didn't get a chance to do it last night. If anything I'll update you guys with what's going on.
Like I was saying, I'll try using a different PC to fix it. Now, if I can't get Odin to recognize the phone, what would be the next step?
Hello
I have a bit of a problem with my SGS2.
After updating to 4.1.2 from 4.0.3 it just died after 24 hours.
It doesn't go into recovery mode ( i had clockwork recovery)
It get stuck on SGS2 Logo when i try to boot it.
I can go into Download mode, but my PC won't detect it so i can flash it again with Odin.
Now, i tried to connect with a dozen cables, 5 different PCs, i even went to a GSM Service and had the usb module changed.
Still doesn't work or is unseen by my PC or any of the others PCs i have at hand.
I have all needed drivers installed. Other SGS2 can be detected by my PC and any other Android devices i tried so far.
Now in download mode it says:
Product Name :GT-i9100
Custom Binary Download: Yes (3 counts)
Current Binary: Custom.
I've tried some soft bricks solution to see if i can get it to work, but no luck so far since Odin is unable to detect my phone.
I understand i might have NAND rw corruption, but i didn't fully understand what that is and how to fix it.
What can i do to unbrick this phone or fix it?
Thanks in advance
Is your phone an I9100? Check under the battery.
Try other odin versions.
And tell us exactly what have you tried to flash.

Yes, my phone is GT-i9100 for sure.
I've successfully flashed from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2 using CWM and i as i said the in previous post, the phone just stopped working after 24 hours or so.
After that i tired to flash the same 4.1.2 with Odin, to get it to work, but my phone couldn't be detected by any PC.
I tried with Odin 1.85 and 3.04, same thing with both of the versions.
There are a lot of 4.1.2 ROMs.
Sent from the little guy
I don't which 4.1.2 ROM i used at the moment, I'm at work, i have all the info i need on my PC home.
But i still can't understand why my USB is not working, do you have any idea?
It could be anything, but your pc will see your device, that's for sure.

I am literally having the worst time. I have to go to work in 30 minutes and my phone is now broken. All I wanted to do was update it so I found a rom for my Infuse but now that I installed it, my phone seems to be broken.
Now I am trying to get it back to its normal state, but the only way to do that is put it in download mode(which works fine) and plug it into Odin. But Odin will not detect it no matter what I do. I have tried everything and I am literally pulling out my hair because this is frustrating me so much.
I hear my pc detecting it. I download drivers. I tried installing drivers through kies, but it just sits at 0%. Then I downloaded the galaxy s drivers, which does nothing when I click the setup file(or at least I can't tell that it is doing something), and then I tried finding the download specifically for my device on the samsung website, but when I run that setup file it says Samsung Android USB Modem Software not installed succesfully (9).
I just want to fix my damn phone and this software will not detect it for the life of me.
