[Q] baseband...? - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

me and and my brother both have a dell streak 5...
i installed clean GB 3 from the modaco site....
i installed it and after seeing that it was superb, tried giving it to my brother's streak, but every now and then his streak keeps rebooting.... but mine runs perfectly fine..... so i did alot of reading here and there and reflashed baseband's, recovery's, amss's and dsp1's countless times... all relating to the same builds each time....
but still no luck.... still reboots after flashing led's
just wanted to know if its possible to extract the very baseband, recovery, amss and dsp1 from my dell streak and put it into his.... after all every streak has the same hardware right? its just something is not right with the installation of the OS....
and think amss n baseband are the same .... right?
help....

Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A

oh sorry about that
well anyone with suggestions....?

Sounds like you may not be.flashing correctly. First thing I would suggest is to flash a stock Gingerbread ROM so.as to synchronize the rest of the system files

[Q] Looking for a user-friendly ROM installation guide CWM

Hello everyone, I´m new on the android word and just got myself an x10 mini, and would like to install a ROM. the real thing im after is the ability to save apps to SD, I tried installing App2sd, using a tutorial in these forums, but it completely broke android 3 times, getting stuck on an endless reboot cycle.
Now that that option is out of the window I am looking at ROMS.
My phone is flashed with an international firmware, with band M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015, Android 2.1. What would be the best ROM (given persona experience) fully working, of course?
Thank you,
DamDSx
hi im pretty new too, but found it quite easy, i installled 2.3.3, i havent got time right now to post the links il get back 2 you if you havnt sorted it, but you can get all links and software from this site, the easiest way i found was using superoneclick to root, just one click! then youl need xrecovery to backup (just incase) &restore then browse for the rom you want to use, if you have a look you'll find all these on here with n00bie instructions 4 us beginners, hope this helps some what.
Im going with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200675
Currently backing up with Xrecovery, but im not sure if I need to wipe user data and cache? the rom guide does not say anything

welcome 2 android
ROM's are of personal taste and as the camera problem of gingerbread is fixed, most of the ROM's are fully working.....as u r new to android, i would suggest you to go for MiniCM7 2.0.5 as the MiniCM is perfectly "tailored" for the mini's small screen estate...however, other ROM's like GingerDX, FroyoBread, MiniCM6, Andread etc are very stable alternatives too ..i am using "FRoyoBread" latest version because i find the battery consumption to be less than the Gingerbread builds
if you are after the ability of moving the apps to SD, most ROM's would suffice. But, i'll give u a caution, don't move apps with "Widget" support or "operational" apps to the SD card...many a time u will get a "problem loading widget" popup or your SD card won't show up on the computer.
try some ROM's until u find the one u would like the best...most of the ROM's are great because OUR DEVS ARE AWESOME
if i helped you, press the "THANKS" button

yes u NEED to format the user data and the cache for avoiding startup bootloops
Search before you ask
try this TUT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194499
Thank you. Android is awesome!
I´m trying GingerDX, the only problem I have found is the keyboard. it was too big for the screen (Unmodified X8 port) but ThickButtons from the market fixed it. Loving Gingerbread so far. On a side note, my new phone, and thus Android, has put some stress between me and my wife, because ive been spending more time with the phone than with her! lol!
Indeed the devs are awesome. THANK YOU!!!!!

[Q] Liberated Aria DDX FR007 to Liberated Aria 2.2.2 final

I'm kinda new to this whole rooting thing and so far the only ROM I've tried beside the stock 2.2 is Liberated Aria DDX FR007.
I was reading about Liberated Aria 2.2.2 final found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970272 and wanted to know if this will be a good upgrade.
If so, is there anything else I should do after installing it? I was reading about an upgraded Kernel (which i have no clue about) and GPS issues.
Is there anything else I should know about? Basically I was thinking about this move due to some bugs i currently have with my current setup. Contacts getting erased and no sync with gmail or fb.
Sorry for the noob questions, I just got lost following that thread after 40 pages.
Thanks in advanced for any advice.
Liberated Aria 2.2.2 is pretty much just a slightly updated version from FR007. If you like to keep things working pretty much the same way they do now then you should be happy with it. You do not need to worry about modifying the kernel or GPS libs with that ROM.
I would suggest doing a clean install if you are having syncing problems.
Oddly enough... I was going through the steps to do the install and when I performed the delete cache/dalvik, my sync started working again.
Nevermind, controls do work.

Need Help - ODIN flash not happening

well i tried to flash one of those i500 roms on my fascinate just for the heck of it ( i think it was for an Indian cdma operator for I500)
it was a fascinate Rom alright , didnt like it ED05 EH18
but since then i am not able to odin anything , either it stops at recovery or some other point, but mostly at recovery .
i can access the download mode , but odin flashing isnt possible now, no matter which STOCK rom i use they arent getting thru , always get stuck at this or that point.
plz help

are you familiar with ADB? you can push a stock image file that way... cayanogen website has a great tutorial on it.
TBH I am not familiar with adb at all .
but the issue was resolved , looks like my usb cable was the culprit and man !! i wasted the whole night trying to figure that out ( and LOL that too was suggested by wife )
yeah i know
btw DS , could u temme which is the better ICS build and kernel now
this all happened with me getting bored og GB
actually i thought of flashing TEAMHACKSUNG's latest ICS build , somehow when i was transferring it to sd card , nothing was happening so i forcefully removed the cable and tried a few times , but it failed , In the end managed to transfer it via WIN 7 ( previously was using XP )
but when i flashed it via CWM , following proper procedure it failed , i donno what was that and my ordeal started .
and now XP wont recognise the phone neither in ODIN nor in mass storage , so doing it all via win 7
appreciate the help.
regards
The latest THS (7.1) has a few bugs still since it is new. I have been running 6.5 for well over a month with no problems. I don't have any experience with AOKP, but there are many people who choose it over THS. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Ths is like vanilla, and aokp is like...... Well it has more ability to customize than about any rom i have seen.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
Aokp 28 w/ glitch 14 b6 is the best combination of rom/kernel I have ever used...no reboots, no lag, no sod's, good battery life, and customization like you cant imagine.
Thats great !!
have some specific suggestions or advise ? coz i have never ever flashed any NON TOUCHWIZ ROM till date
or may be outline the process in short , ( btw awesome guide you hav got in general )

Dell Streak Back to Stock

Hi Guys
I have been out of the Dell Streak Sceen for a while so wonder if you guys can help me out. I have a DS 5 bought UK version, running 2.2.2 with dj steves room 2.6.32.9, I flashed to this rom a long time ago but never really got on with it. GPS not working etc and I gave up using he phone.
Recently I had to use it again as my work phone is broken. I would like to give it a update.
So I would like to know what is currently the stablest ROM? If not i will go back to Stock O2.
Maybe just some hints and guides in what i should do to flash it back as I am so out of it now. It is still on DJ Steves old old rom.
many thanks

CM7.2.0 is the one ive been using for a long while now... its the most stable imo
DSC is another excellent choice.
P.S. Next time, post in the correct forum. Questions like this do not belong in the development forum.

[Q] minor bug

i got a dell streak 5 as a gift, unbeknownst to me it is running a stock froyo 2.2.2 (baseband 347).
bug:
the camera seems to freeze at times when i try to click a pic. The secondary camera and the video recorder are working just fine. Is there a way to fix the camera bug. i thought it could be because of my SD card, so i formatted it and i tried again.. seems to be the same... is there a fix??
ive rooted the device and have removed all the bloatware and have been searching for a custom rom for a quite some time and im not able to find a link to a custom rom in the forum.
Is there a custom rom for my dell streak 5, froyo 2.2.2, baseband GAUB1A134700 build 15274. ??
Or am i jus stuck with this until i get a good phone
Thanks
Click on the "Traveller DSC ROM" link in my signature to be taken to my custom Gingerbread ROM for the Streak. Also check the Android Development forum here in Dell Streak land. My ROM is but one of many being offered here.
