Hi,
I purchased a chinese tablet and to my disappointment it came with Gingerbread installed. I just love the Ice Cream Sandwich and Honeycomb UI and would love it on this tablet.
I have tried updating via recovery mode, couldn't get it installed, (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20593042) and have tried updating via my PC. I'm a newbie and had no idea what to do so I went on to modding the pre-rooted Stock ROM. I'm assuming I'm supposed to edit SystemUI.apk.
I found some *.xml files but they were, I suppose, encrypted. I guess my first step is to increase the thickness of the status bar. How do I do so?
If you know of any way you could help me, from installing a new ROM to increasing the thickness of the status bar, to installing the ICS status bar, please reply. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i love CM9 but at this point the one thing that bothers me is that we don't have a 1% battery mod. After a little searching, I found this mod for the S2. It looks like it should work for us, but I just want to double check. It says that its "Compatible with: Official CM9 (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3/4.0.4), Compatible with: "Stock" Samsung Deodexed ROMs (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3/4.0.4) " Any help would be great.

Someone please help. My question is How to get AOSP ICS Lockscreen on stock ICS rom ? My friend was able to do that on his htc by going into the system files and renaming the htclockscreen.apk. That's not applicable to GS3, how can i do it ?
Hi all!
I'm wondering if there is a way to modify my notfication bar!
For example mine is with the stock samsung UI. But if I wanted to replace it with the android 4.2.2 stock for example, I can do it? There is a way, like change system files to reach this goal?
Thanks in advance!
