[Q] NEED URGENT HELP: screen is not equally under bezel? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just noticed the glass screen of my Atrix a not equally put under the bezel, the left hand side is a bit higher (not higher than the bezel but almost) while the right hand side is under the bezel like it should be. I can easily feel this using my hand touching the screen edge or use a paper and put it in the middle of the screen then move it around and while it cannot move out from the right hand side, it can slip out on the left hand side. So is this normal? If not then it should be considered a hardware defect?
My phone is still in the returnable period (just a few days left) so I want to confirm this urgently!
Many thanks!

Not normal. Mine is even all the way round. I would get a replacement if it were me. Also, if you get a replacement from a store, inspect it before you leave with it.

Keyboard Slide Protector

Do we need the keyboard slide protectors.?(The stickers on the edge of the keyboard) One of the sticker is coming off, and every time i open my keyboard it gets a little suck to the screen when opening. Not an issue for me but it will soon come off completely. Will the damage my keyboard ?
And does anyone know where i can buy more of these?
My left one came off after a couple of days and it's been fine. In fact, I'd say it's actually better. Part of me thinks we're supposed to remove them!
You're the second person wich says its a slide protector.
Well, it's not.
If you look on it, you will see that the 'slide-protector' is also between the 2 clips wich hold the screen.
This is just a factory-protection. wich can be removed at arrival. (its just like the protector wich was on the screen when you get the phone).
I still have the 'slide-protection' because it is nearly invisible, and it protects the surface against little scratches and other miniscule damage.
conclusion; you can't buy this
but you could try it with some transparent tape...

Agreed. These are there just during the manufacturing and shipping process and can be removed - particularly if they are catching on the mechanism!
I had 5 pieces of this plastic that came on the TP2:
One on the Left and Right of the Keyboard
One at the top of the keyboard - (the surface above the number keys).
The one at the front of the screen (with a "please dont squish the screen" warning.
One on the back of the screen (just tilt the screen and look at the back)
I have removed all of these with no problems.
these are only protective stickers to prevednt scratches during manufacturing, you have one on each side of the keyboard, one of top of keyboard, and one behind the display, in addition to the obvious, on the display - all are there to be peeled off.
Would there be a problem in leaving them on? in terms of heating or so? They don't bother me as i hardly even notice them, and it probaly prevents scratches during use as well...
I wouldn't advise anyone to peel them off on purpose. If they are hanging there, then keep tehem as they porvide aditional protection.
I bet none of you have noticed there's also a protection covering the back of the phone, have you?
HastaSSSS
I wondered if the back had a protector on it asyou can notice something like one around the volume controls
i also didn't mentioned the backprotector... but i just removed it after reading this... woot!
but the protector on my keyboard will i left. its a good protector for scratsches after much sliding.
there is also a protector wich isn't announced here!
The one on the headset (on the microphone)!!

most likely because of dirt/sand in your pocket - I've used mine now for a month (stored in pockects) - and there is no sign of scratching.

But no i'm not going to return it, still if the mechanisme start with another problem I wil return it. Like getting very loosly, what I think is just accepteble in years not in a few weeks than I let it be repaired.

Chrome trim

Howdy all,
Anyone notice their "chrome" trimming is chipping off of the phone? Mine is coming off on the bottom right corner, I'm left handed so the phone right corner rest in my palm. Phone is a year old.
Cheers.
Vibrant on Project-V ROM + Bali Kernel + SOC Theme
Haven't had an issue myself. Do you use a case?
I don't have any chrome trim left lol....cheap paint is all it is.
You'll get over it...heck my screen is shattered and i am using box tape to hold the glass together for about a 2 months now and i don't even notice anymore lol....good thing is i don't worry about getting the screen scratched anymore either

Screen separation issue. Do you guys have this problem?

I just realise that my HTC Flyer 3G have this screen separation issue.
The screen is not flush with the bezel. I can flex the screen down to be flush with the bezel but it went up above the bezel when I remove my finger.
I feel like sending it back for warranty. Do you guys have this problem? Or is it normal?
My Flyer's glass seems to not be "glued" very well in the bottom right corner (when held in portrait mode) but it has never been an issue for me. If i press the corner it seems to stay in place for a while.
From what I can tell I don't have any light leakage and at least in my case, it's not a problem worth going through the warranty hassle.

Galaxy S3 cracked body frame

Yesterday, my S3 was fallen down from my hand while I was walking. Everything is okay except the frame at the top right corner and bottom left corner. Is is possible to change the frame?
search ebay for "i9300 bezel"

If it works fine, I recommand no change.
WHY ? Because normaly, the bezel must be change with the amoled screen and the digitizer. So if you don't wish to change all of this (about 250 USD), stay like that.
Yes, you can change only the bezel but you must remove properly the screen and digitizer without damage it and this is very sensitive.

Smudge on lower right corner

Ok, firstly I'll admit that I suffer from a certain level of OCD when it comes to phones. I ordered a GPE last week and was very impressed with the phone. The size is a bit large, but everything else, except for the camera, is phenomenal with this phone.
However, about one week after I got the phone, I noticed what can best be described as a smudge on the front lower right corner, about the radius of a quarter. Granted, since it is at the corner, the total size would be a quarter of a quarter. Anyway, it is usually hard to see it unless you run your finger over the area, whereby the spot becomes clearly visible. I don't know if it is a scratch on the screen protector, but I can't feel any texture and light doesn't seem to show any micro abrasions. It almost seems to be under the screen protector.
Anyway, the unit also had a weird creak on the back of the phone (pressing it in an area would make the phone creak), so I asked for a replacement unit. I got it yesterday and what do you know, the smudge is there on the new unit, too! So my question to other Z Ultra owners is whether this is a common thing and secondly, whether it is an issue with the screen protector only, not some damage to the screen.
The best way I can describe it is as if someone applied pressure on the corner leaving a mark. Again, it is really hard to see if the screen is clean, but becomes easily visible if you smudge the corner with your finger - a clearly visible quarter-circle will become visible if your phone is like mine. Thanks for your help. BTW, I'm going to keep my phone unless it turns out that the smudge is some kind of pressure damage.
The anti finger print coating wears off real fast on the xzu, only way to solve this is to either remove the sony screen protector or apply another screen protector on top of it. Mine wore out in a week, and your replacement gpu is most likely a used defective unit being refurbished. The reason why the smudge is on the lower right corner is because that's the area you use most often....for scrolling and unlocking the screen, hence the wear out

I'm not so sure my replacement unit is a refurbished one. I believe Google has a policy to replace phones with new devices. Also, it is basically the exact place and shape as the smudge on my previous phone, and this unit has been used for only a bit more than 24 hours. The smudge starts at the lower right corner of the glass on the front of the device and goes as far as barely short of the actual display portion of the glass slab.
With sample of two devices, it seems to be a result of the manufacturing process because the two are so similar. Just weird. I guess if it really gets under my skin I'll try to remove the film.
I had the same thing, only in the lower left corner, but i got my screen replaced (for a different reason), and the screen protector i got on the new display is looking good. It's only the oleophobic coating that's wearing off, but i understand how that can be incredible annoying.

Believe what you want to believe. Although I'm telling you its a used device...do you really think they'll thrash all units sent back and dispatch new ones every time someone RMA their phone. Anyways, the solution have been stated out for you, choose what floats your boat

I suppose that theory is as good as any. Nice device anyway. Thanks for the reply!
Yes you can hide it.
apply any screen protector on top. The sh!tty smudge will not visible any more.
Sorry to necro this old thread.
I just wanted to add that I have the exact same issue. Noticed it today while going to show someone it.
I've been babying the heck out of the phone to prevent this issue, but unfortunately my screen protector and case won't show up until a few days from now.
I'm hoping applying the screen protector over it is all I need to do.
I figured I'd post in this thread in case someone else also had this issue and was unaware of this common issue.
Smudge in up left corner
Hi.Just bought this phone and when i clean the screen from fingerprints i see a smudge or mark or whatever its called about 1 x 1 cm in the left up corner. Is it normal?
If you look carefully it seems to be from inside and it doesnt leave. You can see it better only when you pass over it with a towel while cleaning the screen.
Is it something with antistutter film?Warranty covers it?
Thanks in advance
I have it also, 1 day old phone. Hard to believe it is wear.
