[Q] VFM Tablets under 200$ - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys,
i have decided to buy a tablet, the budget is limited to 200$
i will use it for, Skype, Games, Movies, Reading books, Surfing internet and also i like to tweak my devices, so kindly suggest me some models that are mod friendly and available on Amazon.
Kindle Fire looks good in that budget but it doesn't have any camera, mic so i cannot use it for video chat
(one more thing, i live in India, i will get it shipped from Amazon, so i hope the suggested model will work in my country unlike Kindle Fire)

[Q] Uses For Under Powered Tablets Like My Cruz t301

I, like many other suckers, fell for the Velocity Cruz T301 Woot offer a month or two ago... shamefully, I bought 2 of them.
Since I have had the tablets, I have rooted them, put 2.2 on them, installed market, and a few other things that were mentioned in a few threads here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151050).
What I'm finding, however, is that this tablet is just too grossly underpowered to be USEABLE (much less, useful) even for basic web browsing… and I can’t even get it to play movies (Rock Player is not compatible).
So… what other uses are there for underpowered tablets (besides teaching the virtue of patience)? Could I turn it into a touchscreen monitor for a laptop via USB (would be great for controlling media player at work)?
OR, am I just out my $79.99 per unit and I should just donate the rotten things to [insert suggestion here, but don’t say “school” because they all seem to have iPads]?

I suppose the lack of reply suggests that this is now an $80 paperweight. Live & learn!

Recommendations for Android Gaming Tablet

Hi folks,
Before you roast me, I did use the search function but got old results for the most part.
I'm looking for advice on a new media consumption tablet. I have a Samsung Tab S, SM-T700 today. It's been ideal for size and performance. It's getting older now and some of the newer games don't perform as well on it.
I watch a lot of movies and read a lot of books while on a plane, so 10" is less than ideal due to the "packed in like sardines" nature of air travel. When not stuck in the middle seat between two NFL lineman, I use my tablet for some mobile games. I don't care about the camera or speakers, I never use the camera and always use headphones. An SD card is a requirement now that Amazon Prime and Netflix let you download to watch offline.
I've read a lot of reviews online that seem to conflict with the user reviews in certain marketplaces so it's hard to know what to trust. I am hoping there something out there the community is recommending these days? Or maybe something new is just around the corner and the best advice is to wait for this new model XXYZ?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!

Are there any recent budget or midrange tablets you can install a (near) stock ROM on?

I've got an old Nvidia Shield tablet running LineageOS, but the thing is over 7 years old, it's just about completely dead; even keeping it plugged in, the battery drains. Replacing the battery would require soldering skills and tools (I don't have either), or paying several hundred dollars (which doesn't make sense for a tablet this old).
I want a budget or midrange tablet released in the last year or so that I can put a stock or near stock ROM on. I'm not looking for much, just a microsd card slot and USB C. All I wanna do is streaming, reading books, basic web browsing, watching videos, and reading comics on it. No games. LineageOS's latest supported tablet is 3 years old, and can't be found for cheaper than $300 used, which is pretty ridiculous for such an old tablet that was midrange 3 years ago. I was considering one of the Fire tablets, but since OTA updates can't be blocked anymore, there's no guarantee of even being able to put Google Play Services and the Google Play store with the Fire Toolbox in the future.
Does anything like this exist? I know the Android tablet market is pretty bare in general, but I'm hoping there's something I missed.
