Kickstand case with camera protection? - HTC EVO 3D

Anyone know of any cases w/kickstand that cover the camera as well. Both the Seidio and Luxmo have a large cutout that just leaves the camera wide open. Looking for a kickstand case that has specific cutouts for just the lenses and speaker like TPU cases have.

Just looked it up and that case looks extremely bulky. Looking for a something a little more minimalistic like the Seidio Surface case.

I haven't seen anything that has a kickstand and covers up the camera and isn't bulky at the same time. I just got my Trident Kraken II case which has a nice kickstand and protects the camera, but it is fairly bulky. I would recommend it over any of the others, though... If you find a case as you described, post it up, as I might be interested as well.

I really like my Luxmo case. It would be perfect if it had a little more protection for the camera.

Just an idea, why don't you get the slim cases and slap on a cheap screen protection sheet on the camera glass?
Takes a few seconds to cut to the right size, but being slim is supposed to be tough.

Check out the Seidio Active case with built in kickstand. You can find it on Amazon for about $30. I bought Best Buys version of the active case without the kickstand (I didn't know they had it with a kickstand until a few days after, but I don't think Best Buy sells it). I am pretty happy with the case. It offers great protection for the whole phone & the camera. Only complaint is when trying to touch the extreme sides of the screen, the case can get in the way a little bit. I miss the kickstand!

The seidio surface case has a lip around the camera that is a bit taller than the camera cut out. So when you place the phone screen face up, the camera will not touch the table.

Thanks but would prefer that as well as the camera being covered. It's beyond me why no one has released a thin case with camera protection and a kickstand. I picked up a good silicon case for less than 2 quid off amazon. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to add a kickstand to that type of design.

The only thing out there that fits what your looking for is a ballistic hc case just dont put the outer rubber layer

I just looked it up and that might be exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have this case? How thin is the profile on just that inner shell with the kickstand?

Do u have a link for it? The one I checked out doesn't have a camera cover or a kickstand.

I also recommend the Ballistic HC, you have the choice on whether to use all layers, which will be bulky yes, but using the 1st and 2nd will be enough, plus you can re-attach the kickstand if it pops up, which i find really well thought of.

Are there an replacement covers which feature a kickstand. I've seen cases with a kickstand but I'm not a big fan of cases on the EVO 3d.

I've been looking for one myself and have not found one. I settled with the Seidio case with kickstand. It does add bulk but Ive gotten used to it and it was a good thing I had a case cause I've already dropped it once even though I have been careful with my phone since I bought it on release day.

Your best bet is going to be a thin case with a builtin kickstand. I would say go with the Body Glove case that is offered by Sprint (I believe Amazon sells it also). It is super thin and adds almost nothing to the phone as far as thickness goes. Unfortunately, the only colors its available in are pink and purple. There is a thread in this forum that shows how one user sanded it down and then repainted it with black spray paint so that may be something you want to consider.

Here is what it looks like
I went to my Best Buy but they didnt have the Otterbox yet.. I had already preordered one on Amazon.. Does it still have a protector built in for the camera? Also can you take a picture of the phone on its side vs the case on its side?
No it does not

The Otterbox Defender for the OG had it's own plastic kickstand that covered the phone's kickstand.
I am surprised too that the LTE's defender case uses the phone's kickstand.
I would have liked to have seen a rubber cover, similar to the port covers, over the top of the kickstand.
Monnie
Sorry it took a while for me to post these pics but here they are
here is a better quality
Thanks for the pictures!
How does the phone feel with the case on it? It looks bulky as hell. XD
looks huge. all these cases are friggin huge, how can they fit in your pocket comfortably.
yeah it does but I need it because I do have the habbit of dropping my phone alot
its bulky just waiting for the commuter to release might want to get that as well
I batter my phones a lot being a firefighter. They go in pockets with a ton of stuff in them. I always get the defender in case if I drop it from the aerial when doing events or something (which I have done and I do believe the case has saved my phone) plus it comes with the belt holster that doesn't come with any other OB case.
The rubber is new and better imo its not the lint sucking rubber from defenders past the port covers work better also
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
They didn't have the Otterbox when I picked up my phone yesterday.
I went to the same Best Buy today with my Buddy to pick up his and they had them in stock.
Got them to give it to me for $40.
I like the bulk it adds.
The phone felt so Fragile to me and now it feels like a tank!
The only downfall the Kickstand is hard to access.

Case recommendations

Looking for a case just to be able to grip the phone better. Screen should be fine, as it's made from the good stuff.

Check the Amazon website. They have a lot of cases and/or holsters for good prices.
I would recommend the Otter box commuter case, not to bulky has a nice feel and most important protects the phone just fine!!
Sounds like you want minimalistic. Go get a Cruzerlite TPU case on Amazon. Like $10, and way less bulky than the Otterbox cases. Trust me on this one, you'll love it. There's a thread on it in the Accessories Forum with pics.

I just recently compared my phone with this case with someone who has the same phone in a Commuter case, and he was quite impressed by the much less bulky case I had, and is likely going to buy one to replace his Commuter. Cheaper, thinner, lighter, more stylish.

Recently bought this case and and screen protector combo. I wasn't expecting a whole lot considering the price, but I must say I am very pleased with the quality of both products.
I used the casemate barely there case on my OG EVO for a while, and while I liked the case, it scratched the **** out of the sides of my phone. If the design is similar, I would stay away.

My wife and I bought the $1.99 (black) & $2.99 (pink) cases from Amazon. They're just as good as the $25 HTC cases we had for our OG EVOs.
Even if you're super tough on the phone and case, you could still buy a few of them for less than most other cases.

the side rubber indents make it grip when holding it, also the middle is recessed but it helps with gripping it, I tend to drop my phone often but havent yet with this one. (had it since day one 11/21) it feels really good, very solid.

I have the OtterBox Commuter. It is a lot slimmer than the Defender series but it still protects your phone really well. I've broken my case twice and contacted OtterBox and they sent me a replacement case twice. They have really good customer service. I know the case isn't the slimmest out there but it's the slimmest it gets with some good protection.

If you want really slim, go with the CaseMate Barely There! If you want really slim and a solid back(no cut-out for the kickstand), there are cases on ebay. They are very very similar to the Barely There case, they just don't have the kickstand cut-out, slightly better camera protection, AND only $6 shipped!! I bought one in white, and it just arrived today. First impression: Very nice case! I'll take a pic and post it in just a minute.

Here it is. Few angles to show that the top and bottom aren't covered, just the sides. Sides do come up enough so the screen will not touch if you set it face down though. Nice touch I think.

the incipio feather case also is slim but doesnt protect the top and bottom like the case-mate, but it does have the kickstand cutout. I have a small issue with mine not completely reaching the side with volume keys but it's insignificant... if you want pictures just let me know

The impact doesn't have to be in the kickstand area for this type of damage to occur. This area is the weakest point of the aluminum frame, so the phone is most likely to bend there. Only a rigid case protecting the front and the back edges of the phone would prevent it.

I have 3 of those. Bought the smoke grey, clear, and the red. These are very nice TPU cases! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a TPU case!! I also have the 2-piece Seidio case in white (with the holster), 2 Commuter cases (one in each color combination so I could make my own black/white Commuter) , matte clear TPU case, and the case I pictured a few posts back. So far, I prefer the one pictured in this thread and my black and white Commuter! Nice to have different options depending on what I'm doing! Main reason though, in all honesty, I'm just an accessory whore when it comes to my phones! Lol. I do this with every phone I buy, and only use some once before they collect dust in a drawer until I sell the phone a year later.

Here's what you're left with after using the white silicone and black plastic hard shell. You get the black silicone and pink plastic hard shell. I'm gonna put this on ebay, before too much longer I hope. I think this looks better, or at least just as good, than the pink/white case sold by Otterbox. I think Otterbox should let the customer decide what color silicone and what color hard plastic they want when ever placing an order. This would slow down their warehouse, or maybe just require them to hire one or two more warehouse employees, but would increase their sales I think.
