[Q] ODIN killed my device! Need help - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hello everyone,
I need your help, today I used ODIN for my 4.0 Player.
The Device was in Downloadmode, I clicked on the start-button. After Running ODIN my device was dead. Blackscreen while loading, while conected with the pc, while pressing powerbutton, while pressing power-, volume-down- and menu button. computer does not find my device.
I need help, please any suggestions. Or tell me what i have done with my device.

It seems you hard-bricked your device.
Search for AdamOutler Unbrickable Mod. Inside these threads, you'll find the OneClickResurrector which will say you in what mode your device is and if it can be unbricked.

That screenshot doesn't look like Odin.
Anyway, Odin alone won't do any damage - it's just a firmware flashing tool. However flashing the wrong firmware with it will cause damage.
Note that some firmwares are distributed as an "Odin One-Click" - flashing a firmware packaged this way that is not meant for your device will likely kill it. Fortunately, apparently Players can be unbricked using the Resurrector above.
So - What did you use Odin to flash anyway?
Next time around:
1) Do not post threads in Development that ask questions.
2) Do more research before flashing. You clearly flashed something you shouldn't have.

[Q] Bricked Vibrant, HELP please!

Ok heres the deal, I tried a bunch of custom roms eventually leading to hybridv3 then I tried flashing with the Stock vibrant rom and that didnt work so I went to Vibrant4, then stupidly renamed the Stock vibrant rom to update.zip and used android recovery to update packages. Now my phone goes through the boot up but I just get a black screen. Is there any hope for me?
Your Fired! Lol..jk
I would use odin to reload the stock firmware.
I can't seem to get my Vibrant to show up on a com port, I have the pit and the tar files but my vibrant wont show up in odin.

I did something similar a while back. You may need to flask the stock rom via odin. The link to the thread for it is in the bible sticky in this section. Set up odin before you connect the phone to the computer. Also if you use windows vista or 7 you need to open odin by right clicking and run as administrator. For it to work you need to get the phone to download mode. Pull the battery, put it back in. dont touch the power button. Hold the up and down volume buttons and plug the usb into the phone when the other end is already plugged into the computer. It should be in dl mode. Good luck

trying now...
Odin is doing it's thing right now, Thank you so much!!
Just to recap since the correct information has never been added to an OP:
You must install ODIN and the correct USB drivers from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7657252#post7657252 .
Get the phone into download mode. Several different instructions have been posted meaning either different versions of the same phone get into DLM different ways or everyone else is posting the wrong instructions.
What works on mine: Have phone off, ODIN open, and correct USB drivers already installed. HOLD vol up+vol down and plug in the USB, and do not touch the power button.

having trouble with miui 2.3.7

hey guys i'm having serious trouble with this miui 2.3.7. I flashed the rom, and everything was (kind of, the rom was buggy, but working) so i wanted to flash another one after a couple weeks so when i did, it gave me an error while flashing, then i tried to reboot, and i was on a boot loop with the vibrant and platypus screen. I tried reflashing the miui rom now (at the advice of someone else) and now My phone is just stuck on the vibrant screen and i can't even get into recovery. Please help if anyone can.

Try holding only the bottom button and power to get into recovery.
You might have to odin to stock. This is an one click too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509
To get into download mode unplug your phone, take out your battery. Put the cable into your computer, hold the vol - and +, plug into your phone then insert the battery. (Put battery case on too so it does not fall out.)
It will revert you back to factory. Root it using it as well (using the tool), and then download miui from rom manager.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
I made this MIUI install guide for my GF at the time it's broken down in the simplest terms humanly possible so if the guide sounds like it's mocking you, well it's not it's just designed for people who have no idea what there doing, aka My ex lol follow it to A T starting with Odining to stock. Links to all files needed are embedded in the document itself.

Note about odin it's reasonably self explanitory
open the program check ONLY these boxes
Repartition
Auto-Reboot
Reset Time
Select the "pit" button choose
512.pit
select the "PDA" button Choose
T959UVJFD.tar
turn phone off
press and hold Vol+ and Vol- now plug in usb that should enter you into Download mode and odin should find the device press start and wait for the phone to finish the process
now follow the guide on installing MIUI.

Odin out of it as said above, you need to get your partitions right. If you come back flash straight from a 2.2 rom like (bionix)
yeah i would love to do that but unfortunately when i go open oden and go into download mode the computer can't recognize my phone due to the drivers being changed to the nexus 1 drivers (that's what i've gathered from doing research). And I can't find anywhere to download the nexus 1 drivers....

ok as of now, all i can do is get into download mode or get to the samsung screen, can't get into cwm. when i get into download mode, the computer won't recognize the phone due to the driver issue, i tried installing the drivers that the above poster suggested and they won't install when i go to device manager. any thoughts?
Install Samsung Kies (To get Drivers). Then, try my guide (link in signature).

ok downloading now....will keep you posted on progress
ok great news, the samsung kies worked and now i'm back to stock, but now i can't get into recovery....I'm assuming i'm still rooted? am i?
Now that you are back on stock you are no longer rooted. Now follow my guide on flashing MIUI. It has everything you need from flashing instructions to all compatible custom kernels for MIUI.

yeah sorry, i had a bone head moment. i re rooted the phone and now i'm good. thanks to everyone for all their help!!

Ace Totally Bricked

I usually work with iPhones so Android phones are a new field for me...
I have a friend who rooted his Samsung Galaxy Ace and then installed Android 2.3.4 but he decided to install something as he says that "doubles the ram memory of the device" well as soon as he installed this the phone immediatelly got bricked.
I have it here in my hands and I tried entering RECOVERY, DOWNLOAD mode and it was impossible.
So I tried pressing all the button (Vol+,Vol-, Home and Power) and the device was USB recognized by my PC,installed its own drivers but nothing showed up on the screen. Then I pressed Home and Power and USB sound ran again and from there on the phone does not react to any combination of buttons, taking out the battery or anything and the PC does not see it anymore.
I tried to be as specific as possible cause I really want to help this guy... So If anyone knows what are the possible solutions besides "take it to samsung care center" I'd really appreciate it!
Thansk!
Install KIES from Samsung so you have the drivers for the phone.
Install ODIN and run on your pc so you can flash a stock ROM (you don't need to have KIES running at the same time)
Take the battery out of the phone and connect it to the pc with ODIN running via USB.
If ODIN detects the phone put the battery back in and now you can flash with a stock rom and your phone will now work.
There are instructions on this forum where to find ODIN and how to load a ROM into it ready to flash.
have u tried the USB Jig?

I'd save that for plan B, If it's showing up on a PC it's not bricked.
Bricked = no power, no response, no detect by pc no nothing.

But Can I download any ODIN? Because I've seen through the forum that there are several ODINs for different Samsung Models... besides there are several ODIN versions! So which one do I need to download? Please a little help here cause in the Android field I'm still a noob!
Also as I told you, the first time the PC recognized the phone when I pressed ALL the buttons... but afterwards it does not recognize it anymore... does it have to do anything with that KIES you are just telling me about? Also which KIES should I download?
Thansk!
To me it doesnt wounds like its "Totally Bricked", take the battery out and leave if there for awhile, come back later on and see if you can enter download mode.
If you want you drivers to be installed correctly, download the KIES (2.1 i guess?) and get ODIN to reflash it.
we have a how to unbrick thread ....try d steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071970

Ok... this is as far as I have come.... The guide for unbricking seems good, there is only one problem. I've already Loaded ODIN with the firmware files and boot, and all those files. But I can NOT, I repeat I can NOT enter DOWNLOAD MODE (Vol-,Home, Power Buttons). I can only enter EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE (Vol+,Vol-, Home and Power Buttons) and the good news is that ODIN is ABLE to recognize it, BUT as soon as I hit star it stays stuck at "<1> setup connection..." Well before you start saying to search forum for solutions, well I did, and I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188378
The guy had this same problem and he realized his problem was that he was entering EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE rather than DOWNLOAD MODE. BUT I can NOT enter DOWNLOAD MODE the phone just doesn't enter this mode, only the EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE so what can I do to make ODIN flash my phone!!????? Please help!!

Ok So I finally did it. Bought the USB Jig! From here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-I910...90122901388427
And Guess What! IT DID NOT WORK!!!
This was my last resort and now I don't know what to do! But pay attention the funny thing, AS I mentioned earlier in ALL my posts! Is that the phone is recognized by ODIN but only in EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE (It even says "COM PORT 18") But in this mode ODIN doesn't flash it, I needed DOWNLOAD MODE which was the reason why I bought the USB JIG, but it is not working! Is there a some kind of workaround to get the JIG working? PLEASE I REALLY REALLY need help!!!
Thanks!

[Q](yp-g70cw) No boot logo,No lights,USB Not detected - please help

Last week, my friend was trying to install a stock ROM on my device but after odin fails my gplayer's screen gone black even I tried holding the power button and other combos for minutes but nothing happened, please help.
Ok answer this question. Can you get into download mode by holding the power button + volume down? If not then your device is hard bricked, and your boot loader somehow got messed up. There's a forum on here on how to fix a hard bricked/soft bricked galaxy players. It can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1496360. Now if you can get into download mode then I suggest trying to use odin again. Just make sure you have all drivers installed on your computer (you might have to install samsung kies), and flash it fully to stock.

That sucks. I think it may be permanently bricked then. You may have to send it to http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-player-5-0-jtag-brick-repair-service/ if that the case. I first would try and fix the bootloader. Have you followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386669 as well? This fixes the bootloader for hard bricked devices. Also Have you also tried these instructions? http://www.androidauthority.com/unbrick-samsung-galaxy-player-5-48449/ too

[Q] YP-G70 stuck on a screen after failed CWM Flash.

Hello guys. First of all, my native language isn't English, so sorry for something wrong. I'm from the GT-i5500 area, and I have CM10.1 on it. I have a friend wich has a YP-G70, and he loved Jelly Bean. We tryed to flash CWM, to install CM10 on it, but on the installation, Odin said FAIL and it is stuck at a screen. Every time my friend tries do shutdown it, it reboots into the same screen. What can we do? The screen looks like a phone and a computer, and a triangle on the middle.
Thanks anyway.
Its forcable download mode because u did not flash good..probably flashed wrong file..what file did you flash and from what section in Odin.
I had the same experience. I tried to get it off but it can't. I unplugged it off the USB cable and plugged it again, then reflashed. It worked for me.
Please tell me how did you fixed your Galaxy Player 5

Please, my friends, help me!
Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 YP-G70 (with phisycal home button) bricked.
I accidentally flashed the rom to SGS-I9000B to the SGP 5.0 so it got bricked.
It's status is: doesn't turn on, doesn't enter in dowload mode (Volume down + Home + Power), doesn't show charging icon.
After weeks of exaustive researche, the only way I was able to enter in download mode was using the Adam's Outler procedure: Instaling Linux, Java, Oracle Virtual Box a version of Windows under VBOX, to run Samsung drivers and Odin after using Unbrickable Resurrector R40.
Well, using this procedure SGP 5.0 enters in downloading mode and when I use the PIT file and BootloadersOnly provided by Adam the result in Odin is PASS! Despite that SGP doesn't reboot and keeps the same way: doesn't turn on, doesn't enter in dowload mode (Volume down + Home + Power), doesn't show charging icon.
So I enter in download mode using Unbrickable Resurrector R40 again and try to flash several SGP 5.0 YP-G70 Intl ROMs: Stock Froyo, Stock Ginger Bread and some Customs ROMs most of them PASS in the Odin result BUT SGP 5.0 never reboots or turn on after the procedure.
I have a doubt of marking or not Re-partition in Odin, but the procedure just works if I mark it.
I feel I was close to resurrect it and make it work again but all I've got is frustration.
I'm not an expert as the major of you so I beg some enlightned soul show me the way to make it works: step by step and share with me the right files I have to use to make it works.
I also have installed Heimdall but I was not able to find the appropriate files to use it and SGP 5.0 can not have the batery removed. Someone wrote Adam has developed a tool for SGP full recovery but I didnt find it.
Please, folks, help me and I will share the solution with other people in the same situation.
Thanks and best regards.
