Does anybody know of any method that can enable the 3G version of Galaxy Tab 10.1 to make phone calls? Maybe the .apk from Galaxy Tab 7.0+ might work or something?
I hope someone can solve this issue. There is an incoming call solution for p7100 but no outgoing gsm call. You may want to look these:

Yeah sure. I have been quite busy recently that I don't really have the time to install and try it out. I am also wondering if it is possible to use modifications done in Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus to make phone calls too. Any developers can shed some light on this?

To be very short: nope. Not with the standard firmware.
Yes, you can send and receive sms and mms messages with stock firmware. It is not possible to make phone calls.

As far as I know, no.
as stated before sms and mms is working - call is not supported by HC :-(
thats sad. thought with all the talent we have here on xda someone would have already figured it out... from what i have reading....the tab has the hardware for it......

i really hope and i think it has the hardware.. as tab 8.9 has that call feature.
Is there any way to disable the SMS feature as well?
If I insert my sim into my tablet, I only want to use the data connection (incase my phone battery dies and I cant use wifi tethering anymore).
I want my SMS to stay with the provider and only be delivered to my mobile when I charge it and switch it back on.
Is this possible?
I think you can uninstall the message app, but i am not sure. But why dont you just get a simcard for data only, it will also saving you for swapping the sim

I think Is not about the HC, 5 Nov samsung launch galaxy tab 7 Plus in Indonesia for USD 600 with HC and have phone function, can any one can do the same with our 10.1

I just purchased >Groove IP from the Market for $5.99> went in to my gVoice settings and forwarded the calls to my mobile phone and gtalk> and I can make and receive calls. I have tried it over 3G and wifi and it works flawlessly and it is very clear. Good Luck and Good Calling!

Why would someone want to use the 10.1" GT for voice - apart from being cumbersome and unwieldy even if there is bluetooth.... This is more personal entertainment and to an extent an excellent business tool alternative especially when you do not wish to lug the laptop but still need email and similar functionality.

I agree but as I won't be using it for my primary phone all is goid. I have discovered it will receive SMS no problem so that will do for now.

Nobody? I'm surprised, I thought someone here would know. Or at least you would tell me that it's impossible with Android due to the security reasons or something like this.
when I call the newer devices, just feel pings, when I call old devices, the calls are good.. someone can help mme.. i love cyanogenmod

my girlfriend have iphone 6.. all the calls with she have noises, when im calling and in call to, i hear only metalic sounds. when i call my mom, she have an old nokia, the call is ok..my friend have galaxy s4,with him is ok..i tried all the downloads off nightly.. the latest i try is 18.12
ROM have nothing to do here, try different modems (with efs v.2 ofc). Did ur girlfriend have this problem when calling someone else? What about videos? Can You record them properly and have these noises?

Hey guys recently I have flashed CM 14.1(nightly) official on my kenzo! But I can't receive calls! When I receive calls can't hear anything even the other side party can't also hear me! If I connect my headphones to it it works great! This problem not only occurs in Phone call but also in messenger call, WhatsApp call! Help me out guys!

I didn't receive the update yet. Once I receive and install it I'll definitely confirm ! :laugh:
I can confirm this does not work on my phone as well. I have a SM-G965UZDAXAA (Unlocked) Baseband Version G965U1UEU7DTA5 (USA) on AT&T. Everyone needs to contact Samsung as I did. This is definitely a software update bug as I have gone thru all of there troubleshooting steps and a Factory Data Reset. They will not fix it unless people contact them. I can confirm same issue. LED notification not working at all, not show any missed notification.
If I turn on Edge Lightening, apps allowed by Edge Lighteing are able to show missed notification by LED. But missed calls LED notification are not working anyway.

Today i received April SW update.
It fixed LED notification issue. LED is working, eventhoug Edge light is off. It is working for Missed calls, too.
